Najnovije istraživanje multidisciplinarnoga tima znanstvenika pokazuje kako otvoreni požari snažno utječu na atmosferske koncentracije spojeva dušika i njihovog taloženja u površinskom mikrosloju mora, priopćio je u petak Institut Ruđer Bošković (IRB).
S obzirom da su soli dušika i fosfora važne hranjive tvari u morskom ekosustavu, dobiveni podatci ključni su za daljnje praćenje utjecaja požara i koncentracija ovih spojeva na živi svijet u moru.
Sanja Frka Milosavljević, voditeljica istraživanja i znanstvenica u Laboratoriju za biogeokemiju mora i atmosfere IRB-a, kaže kako rad predstavlja podatake dobivene multidisciplinarnim istraživanjima atmosferskih uzoraka i uzoraka morske površine tijekom šestomjesečnog razdoblja na obalnom području srednjeg Jadrana.
Dosezi vremenske promjenjivosti
Glavni cilj ispitivanja, napomenula je, bio je procijeniti dosege vremenske promjenjivosti atmosferskih koncentracija i tokova taloženja anorganskih soli dušika i fosfora kao hranjivih tvari za morski sustav i steći uvid u njihov utjecaj na prirodu obogaćenja granice faza more-atmosfera organskom tvari na obalnom području srednjeg Jadrana.
Zbog važnosti za cijelo sredozemno obalno područje, znanstvenici su posebnu pozornost posvetili epizodama otvorenih požara obalnog područja, naglasila je, dodavši kako je srednji Jadran trajno izložen visokom riziku od požara te ima dugu povijest ekstremnih šumskih požara.

''Rezultati naše studije ukazuju da dušikove soli, koje se iz atmosfere talože na obalno područje srednjeg Jadrana tijekom intenzivnih požara, mogu biti odgovorne za do 11 posto primarne proizvodnje", istaknula je doktorandica Andrea Milinković.
Objasnila je kako atmosfersko taloženje posljedično povezano s emisijama otvorenih požara obalnih područja igra važnu ulogu u promjeni kvalitete i količine organske tvari unutar površinskog mikrosloja, što može imati snažne posljedice na niz globalnih biogeokemijskih i klimatskih procesa u kojima posreduje površinski mikrosloj mora.
Do tih rezultata, objavljenih u uglednom časopisu Science of the Total Environment, došli su znanstvenici Zavoda za istraživanje mora i okoliša Instituta Ruđer Bošković (IRB) u suradnji s kolegama s Instituta za oceanografiju i ribarstvo u Splitu, Instituta za medicinska istraživanja i medicinu rada u Zagrebu, te GEOMAR Helmholtz Centra za istraživanje oceana u Kielu.

Najnovije istraživanje multidisciplinarnoga tima znanstvenika pokazuje kako otvoreni požari snažno utječu na atmosferske koncentracije spojeva dušika i njihovog taloženja u površinskom mikrosloju mora, priopćio je u petak Institut Ruđer Bošković (IRB).
S obzirom da su soli dušika i fosfora važne hranjive tvari u morskom ekosustavu, dobiveni podatci ključni su za daljnje praćenje utjecaja požara i koncentracija ovih spojeva na živi svijet u moru.
Sanja Frka Milosavljević, voditeljica istraživanja i znanstvenica u Laboratoriju za biogeokemiju mora i atmosfere IRB-a, kaže kako rad predstavlja podatake dobivene multidisciplinarnim istraživanjima atmosferskih uzoraka i uzoraka morske površine tijekom šestomjesečnog razdoblja na obalnom području srednjeg Jadrana.
Dosezi vremenske promjenjivosti
Glavni cilj ispitivanja, napomenula je, bio je procijeniti dosege vremenske promjenjivosti atmosferskih koncentracija i tokova taloženja anorganskih soli dušika i fosfora kao hranjivih tvari za morski sustav i steći uvid u njihov utjecaj na prirodu obogaćenja granice faza more-atmosfera organskom tvari na obalnom području srednjeg Jadrana.
Zbog važnosti za cijelo sredozemno obalno područje, znanstvenici su posebnu pozornost posvetili epizodama otvorenih požara obalnog područja, naglasila je, dodavši kako je srednji Jadran trajno izložen visokom riziku od požara te ima dugu povijest ekstremnih šumskih požara.

''Rezultati naše studije ukazuju da dušikove soli, koje se iz atmosfere talože na obalno područje srednjeg Jadrana tijekom intenzivnih požara, mogu biti odgovorne za do 11 posto primarne proizvodnje", istaknula je doktorandica Andrea Milinković.
Objasnila je kako atmosfersko taloženje posljedično povezano s emisijama otvorenih požara obalnih područja igra važnu ulogu u promjeni kvalitete i količine organske tvari unutar površinskog mikrosloja, što može imati snažne posljedice na niz globalnih biogeokemijskih i klimatskih procesa u kojima posreduje površinski mikrosloj mora.
Do tih rezultata, objavljenih u uglednom časopisu Science of the Total Environment, došli su znanstvenici Zavoda za istraživanje mora i okoliša Instituta Ruđer Bošković (IRB) u suradnji s kolegama s Instituta za oceanografiju i ribarstvo u Splitu, Instituta za medicinska istraživanja i medicinu rada u Zagrebu, te GEOMAR Helmholtz Centra za istraživanje oceana u Kielu.
