Grenland je okončano 50-godišnji pokušaj proizvodnje nafte, nakon što je odlučeno da će se suspendirati strategija traženja nafte, kao i izdavanje licenci za istraživanje.

Većinom neuspješna ispitivanja provode se od 1970-ih, a sudjeluju najveće svjetske kompanije poput Shella, Chevrona, ExxonMobila i Enija.

Zbog potencijalnog mineralnog bogatstva i strateškog položaja Grenlanda, Donald Trump je kao američki predsjednik predložio kupnju arktičkog otoka, što su brzo odbacili vlada Grenlanda i Danska.

Nova je američka administracija također rekla ove godine da nema želju kupiti otok.

Naaja Nathanielsen, grenlandska ministrica prirodnih resursa, poručila je u četvrtak da je vlada "procijenila da su posljedice za okoliš istraživanja i eksploatacije nafte prevelike".

Prema izvještaju Američkog geološkog zavoda iz 2007. pod ledom na sjeveroistoku Grenlanda moglo bi biti do 31,4 milijarde barela nafte.

Trenutno prema podacima grenlandske vlade postoje četiri licence za ispitivanje nafte koje istječu u 2027. i 2028.

Uz zabrinutost za okoliš vlada je uzela u obzir i ekonomsku analizu koja je pokazala da eksploatacija nafte ne bi bila financijski isplativa.

"Odluka je to u kojoj klimatska razmatranja, ekološka pitanja i ekonomski zdrav razum idu ruku pod ruku", rekla je Nathanielsen.

"Obustavljanje trenutne naftne strategije pravi je izbor", dodala je.

Vladina odluka o suspenziji stupila je na snagu 24. lipnja.

Grenland je okončano 50-godišnji pokušaj proizvodnje nafte, nakon što je odlučeno da će se suspendirati strategija traženja nafte, kao i izdavanje licenci za istraživanje.

Većinom neuspješna ispitivanja provode se od 1970-ih, a sudjeluju najveće svjetske kompanije poput Shella, Chevrona, ExxonMobila i Enija.

Zbog potencijalnog mineralnog bogatstva i strateškog položaja Grenlanda, Donald Trump je kao američki predsjednik predložio kupnju arktičkog otoka, što su brzo odbacili vlada Grenlanda i Danska.

Nova je američka administracija također rekla ove godine da nema želju kupiti otok.

Naaja Nathanielsen, grenlandska ministrica prirodnih resursa, poručila je u četvrtak da je vlada "procijenila da su posljedice za okoliš istraživanja i eksploatacije nafte prevelike".

Prema izvještaju Američkog geološkog zavoda iz 2007. pod ledom na sjeveroistoku Grenlanda moglo bi biti do 31,4 milijarde barela nafte.

Trenutno prema podacima grenlandske vlade postoje četiri licence za ispitivanje nafte koje istječu u 2027. i 2028.

Uz zabrinutost za okoliš vlada je uzela u obzir i ekonomsku analizu koja je pokazala da eksploatacija nafte ne bi bila financijski isplativa.

"Odluka je to u kojoj klimatska razmatranja, ekološka pitanja i ekonomski zdrav razum idu ruku pod ruku", rekla je Nathanielsen.

"Obustavljanje trenutne naftne strategije pravi je izbor", dodala je.

Vladina odluka o suspenziji stupila je na snagu 24. lipnja.

Grenland je okončano 50-godišnji pokušaj proizvodnje nafte, nakon što je odlučeno da će se suspendirati strategija traženja nafte, kao i izdavanje licenci za istraživanje.

Većinom neuspješna ispitivanja provode se od 1970-ih, a sudjeluju najveće svjetske kompanije poput Shella, Chevrona, ExxonMobila i Enija.

Zbog potencijalnog mineralnog bogatstva i strateškog položaja Grenlanda, Donald Trump je kao američki predsjednik predložio kupnju arktičkog otoka, što su brzo odbacili vlada Grenlanda i Danska.

Nova je američka administracija također rekla ove godine da nema želju kupiti otok.

Naaja Nathanielsen, grenlandska ministrica prirodnih resursa, poručila je u četvrtak da je vlada "procijenila da su posljedice za okoliš istraživanja i eksploatacije nafte prevelike".

Prema izvještaju Američkog geološkog zavoda iz 2007. pod ledom na sjeveroistoku Grenlanda moglo bi biti do 31,4 milijarde barela nafte.

Trenutno prema podacima grenlandske vlade postoje četiri licence za ispitivanje nafte koje istječu u 2027. i 2028.

Uz zabrinutost za okoliš vlada je uzela u obzir i ekonomsku analizu koja je pokazala da eksploatacija nafte ne bi bila financijski isplativa.

"Odluka je to u kojoj klimatska razmatranja, ekološka pitanja i ekonomski zdrav razum idu ruku pod ruku", rekla je Nathanielsen.

"Obustavljanje trenutne naftne strategije pravi je izbor", dodala je.

Vladina odluka o suspenziji stupila je na snagu 24. lipnja.
