Datum 11. siječnja 2023. mnogi svjetski jedriličari upisali su u svoje rokovnike. Tada se naime otvaraju prijave za Rolex Fastnet Race, 50. izdanje vodećeg događaja Royal Ocean Racing Cluba. Regata pak starta 22. srpnja 2023. godine.

Ono što je fascinantno jest činjenica da se prijave svaki put popune u rekordnom roku, baš kao i ulaznice za čuveni festival Glastonbury. Primjera radi, u posljednjem izdanju prije pandemije, dvogodišnje utrke Rolex Fastnet Race 2019., registracije su popunjene za svega četiri minute i 37 sekundi, 13 sekundi izvan rekordnog vremena postavljenog dvije godine ranije! Prijave su po principu, tko prije, njegovo je.

Rolex Fastnet Race je regata duga 695 milja i jedna je od najprestižnijih i najzahtjevnijih svjetskih offshore regata. Starta iz Cowesa na otoku Wright gdje je održano prvo izdanje America‘s Cupa, okreće oko hridi Fastnet po kojoj je i regata dobila ime te završava u francuskom Cherbourgu koji je za izdanja 2021. i 2023. zamijenio tradicionalni cilj u Plymouthu.
Budući da ova regata bilježi svoju 50. obljetnicu, očekuje se više od 450 brodova na startnoj liniji, a po običaju, na njoj sudjeluje najviše ‘maxi kategorija‘.

Nekadašnji skijaš Ivica Kostelić sudjelovao je 2019. na ovoj regati, u klasi 40, no morao je odustati jer se druga jedrilica pri jakom vjetru zabila u njegovu i prouzrokovala veliku štetu. Na svu sreću, svi su, osim jedrilice, prošli dobro.

Inače, Fastnet je hrid na kojoj je svjetionik, a ime mu dolazi od rstarogermanske riječi hvasstann što znači oštar zub. Irci ga zovu irska suza jer je posljednja vizura domovine koju su vidjeli iseljenici na putu za Ameriku i boljim životom.

Datum 11. siječnja 2023. mnogi svjetski jedriličari upisali su u svoje rokovnike. Tada se naime otvaraju prijave za Rolex Fastnet Race, 50. izdanje vodećeg događaja Royal Ocean Racing Cluba. Regata pak starta 22. srpnja 2023. godine.

Ono što je fascinantno jest činjenica da se prijave svaki put popune u rekordnom roku, baš kao i ulaznice za čuveni festival Glastonbury. Primjera radi, u posljednjem izdanju prije pandemije, dvogodišnje utrke Rolex Fastnet Race 2019., registracije su popunjene za svega četiri minute i 37 sekundi, 13 sekundi izvan rekordnog vremena postavljenog dvije godine ranije! Prijave su po principu, tko prije, njegovo je.

Rolex Fastnet Race je regata duga 695 milja i jedna je od najprestižnijih i najzahtjevnijih svjetskih offshore regata. Starta iz Cowesa na otoku Wright gdje je održano prvo izdanje America‘s Cupa, okreće oko hridi Fastnet po kojoj je i regata dobila ime te završava u francuskom Cherbourgu koji je za izdanja 2021. i 2023. zamijenio tradicionalni cilj u Plymouthu.
Budući da ova regata bilježi svoju 50. obljetnicu, očekuje se više od 450 brodova na startnoj liniji, a po običaju, na njoj sudjeluje najviše ‘maxi kategorija‘.

Nekadašnji skijaš Ivica Kostelić sudjelovao je 2019. na ovoj regati, u klasi 40, no morao je odustati jer se druga jedrilica pri jakom vjetru zabila u njegovu i prouzrokovala veliku štetu. Na svu sreću, svi su, osim jedrilice, prošli dobro.

Inače, Fastnet je hrid na kojoj je svjetionik, a ime mu dolazi od rstarogermanske riječi hvasstann što znači oštar zub. Irci ga zovu irska suza jer je posljednja vizura domovine koju su vidjeli iseljenici na putu za Ameriku i boljim životom.

Datum 11. siječnja 2023. mnogi svjetski jedriličari upisali su u svoje rokovnike. Tada se naime otvaraju prijave za Rolex Fastnet Race, 50. izdanje vodećeg događaja Royal Ocean Racing Cluba. Regata pak starta 22. srpnja 2023. godine.

Ono što je fascinantno jest činjenica da se prijave svaki put popune u rekordnom roku, baš kao i ulaznice za čuveni festival Glastonbury. Primjera radi, u posljednjem izdanju prije pandemije, dvogodišnje utrke Rolex Fastnet Race 2019., registracije su popunjene za svega četiri minute i 37 sekundi, 13 sekundi izvan rekordnog vremena postavljenog dvije godine ranije! Prijave su po principu, tko prije, njegovo je.

Rolex Fastnet Race je regata duga 695 milja i jedna je od najprestižnijih i najzahtjevnijih svjetskih offshore regata.
