[fulltext] => Državni arhiv u Dubrovniku objavio je na svojoj Facebook-stranici "arhivaliju mjeseca", a ovaj put je to zanimljiva priča o nekadašnjoj kućici pokraj Vrata od Pila.
Detaljnije o zgradi naveo je u objašnjenju suradnik DAD-a, povjesničar umjetnosti
Ivan Viđen.
- Riječ je o vojnoj zgradi koja je podignuta vjerojatno već 1815. godine, a prema sjeveru imala je front od tri etaže, dok je prema zapadu (prema vratima od Pila) imala jedan veliki lučno nadsvođeni prostor. Na vrhu (sa zapadne strane) bila je navodno spomen-ploča u čast dolaska cara i kralja
Frana I u Dubrovnik 1818. godine. U tom prostoru ispod luka (u koji se pristupalo izravno s gornje strane, tj. s razine Vrata od Pila, točno na visini na kojoj danas počinju stepenice) jedno je vrijeme početkom 20. stoljeća bila fotografska radnja Cesarea Damianija.
Nakon završetka Prvoga svjetskoga rata i sklapanja ugovora između općine grada Dubrovnika i Ministarstva vojske SHS (15.8.1921.) o povratu zidina gradu, odlučeno je da se na tome mjestu uredi stari način ulaska u grad (stubište) te da se podigne "spomenik ujedinjenju" (nije točno bilo definirano kako bi spomenik trebao biti koncipiran).
Tadašnji je dubrovački konzervator
Marko Murat zamolio svoga prijatelja
Ivana Meštrovića (koji je upravo tada radio na
Račićevu mauzoleju u Cavtatu) da napravi taj spomenik te se on prihvatio uređenja zapadnoga ulaza u grad, projektiravši stubište, kandelabre i ogradu te spomenik (reljef) kralja
Petra na konju i kip sv. Vlaha. (Spomenik je uklonjen 1941. godine).
Za tu je intervenciju bilo potrebno prvo ukloniti tu zgradu koju su svi smatrali nagrdom gradskih zidina i vrata od Pila.
Meštrović radove usputno opisuje u svojim "Uspomenama na političke ljude i događaje") Odbor za podignuće spomenika (koji je vodio radove) naredio je da se kućica sruši u svibnju 1923. godine, što je bilo dovršeno u prvoj polovici lipnja 1923. godine.
Tom je prilikom (prilikom rušenja) otkriven i "tajni" prolaz ispod Vrata od Pila (danas vidljiv kao vrata u kantunu stubišta, prodaju se neki suveniri). Potom je uslijedila izrada skalinade i balustrade (do kraja 1923. godine) te svečano otkriće čitavoga urbanističkoga zahvata 1.12. 1924. godine, naveo je Viđen.

[text] => {OCMSplitter}Državni arhiv u Dubrovniku objavio je na svojoj Facebook-stranici "arhivaliju mjeseca", a ovaj put je to zanimljiva priča o nekadašnjoj kućici pokraj Vrata od Pila.
Detaljnije o zgradi naveo je u objašnjenju suradnik DAD-a, povjesničar umjetnosti
Ivan Viđen.
- Riječ je o vojnoj zgradi koja je podignuta vjerojatno već 1815. godine, a prema sjeveru imala je front od tri etaže, dok je prema zapadu (prema vratima od Pila) imala jedan veliki lučno nadsvođeni prostor. Na vrhu (sa zapadne strane) bila je navodno spomen-ploča u čast dolaska cara i kralja
Frana I u Dubrovnik 1818. godine. U tom prostoru ispod luka (u koji se pristupalo izravno s gornje strane, tj. s razine Vrata od Pila, točno na visini na kojoj danas počinju stepenice) jedno je vrijeme početkom 20. stoljeća bila fotografska radnja Cesarea Damianija.
Nakon završetka Prvoga svjetskoga rata i sklapanja ugovora između općine grada Dubrovnika i Ministarstva vojske SHS (15.8.1921.) o povratu zidina gradu, odlučeno je da se na tome mjestu uredi stari način ulaska u grad (stubište) te da se podigne "spomenik ujedinjenju" (nije točno bilo definirano kako bi spomenik trebao biti koncipiran).
Tadašnji je dubrovački konzervator
Marko Murat zamolio svoga prijatelja
Ivana Meštrovića (koji je upravo tada radio na
Račićevu mauzoleju u Cavtatu) da napravi taj spomenik te se on prihvatio uređenja zapadnoga ulaza u grad, projektiravši stubište, kandelabre i ogradu te spomenik (reljef) kralja
Petra na konju i kip sv. Vlaha. (Spomenik je uklonjen 1941. godine).
Za tu je intervenciju bilo potrebno prvo ukloniti tu zgradu koju su svi smatrali nagrdom gradskih zidina i vrata od Pila.
Meštrović radove usputno opisuje u svojim "Uspomenama na političke ljude i događaje") Odbor za podignuće spomenika (koji je vodio radove) naredio je da se kućica sruši u svibnju 1923. godine, što je bilo dovršeno u prvoj polovici lipnja 1923. godine.
Tom je prilikom (prilikom rušenja) otkriven i "tajni" prolaz ispod Vrata od Pila (danas vidljiv kao vrata u kantunu stubišta, prodaju se neki suveniri). Potom je uslijedila izrada skalinade i balustrade (do kraja 1923. godine) te svečano otkriće čitavoga urbanističkoga zahvata 1.12. 1924. godine, naveo je Viđen.
