Po trenutnim obvezama za smanjenje emisije stakleničkih plinova, globalno će temperatura porasti do kraja stoljeća za 2,7 stupnjeva Celzijevih, navodi se u izvješću Ujedinjenih Naroda objavljenom u utorak.

Na klimatskom samitu COP26 idućeg tjedna vođe će raspravljati o ambicioznijim obvezama koje se tiču smanjenja emisije stakleničkih plinova s ciljem ograničenja globalnog zagrijavanja na porast od 2 stupnja Celzijeva u odnosu na predindustrijsko razdoblje.

Svjetska meteorološka organizacija uoči dvotjednog samita u Glasgowu, koji počinje u nedjelju, objavila je da je koncentracija stakleničkih plinova dosegnula rekordne vrijednosti prošle godine te da je svijet daleko od ograničenja globalnog zagrijavanja.

Godišnje izvješće Programa Ujedinjenih naroda za okoliš (UNEP), koje mjeri jaz između očekivanih emisija i emisija dogovorenih Pariškim sporazumom iz 2015., navodi da nova obećanja predviđene emisije za 2030., za dodatnih 7,5 posto u odnosu na prethodne obveze.

Ako se trend nastavi do kraja stoljeća globalno bi se temperatura povećala za 2,7 stupnjeva Celzijevih, što je nešto manje od 3 stupnja Celzijevih iz UNEP-ove prošlogodišnje projekcije.

Potrebno je smanjenje emisije stakleničkih plinova od 30 posto kako bi se ograničilo zagrijavanje na 2 stupnja Celzijeva te smanjenje od 55 posto kako bi se zagrijavanje ograničilo na 1,5 stupnjeva Celzijevih.

Zemlje skupine G20, odgovorne za 80 posto globalne emisije, po trenutnim pokazateljima neće ispuniti ciljeve za 2030. godinu.

"Ako ne dođe do značajnog smanjenja emisija u sljedećem desetljeću, zauvijek ćemo izgubiti mogućnost da dosegnemo 1,5 stupnjeva", rekao je glavni tajnik UN-a Antonio Guterres novinarima.

"Apsolutno je nužno da se sve zemlje G20 prije ili u Glasgowu obvežu da su kompatibilne sa smanjenjem na 1,5 stupnjeva", dodao je.

Najnoviji podaci UN-a pokazuju da su 143 zemlje, koje čine oko 57 posto globalnih emisija, podnijele nove ili ažurirane planove smanjenja emisija prije samita COP26, što bi dovelo do smanjenja emisija tih zemalja od 9 posto do 2030, u odnosu na 2010.

Ali ako se uzmu zajedno sva obećanja 192 zemlje prema Pariškom sporazumu, očekuje se povećanje globalnih emisija od oko 16% do 2030. u odnosu na 2010., što bi dovelo do zagrijavanja od oko 2,7 stupnjeva Celzijevih.

Kina i Indija, zajedno odgovorne za oko 30 posto globalnih emisija, još se nisu obvezale na dodatna smanjenja emisije stakleničkih plinova.

Po trenutnim obvezama za smanjenje emisije stakleničkih plinova, globalno će temperatura porasti do kraja stoljeća za 2,7 stupnjeva Celzijevih, navodi se u izvješću Ujedinjenih Naroda objavljenom u utorak.

Na klimatskom samitu COP26 idućeg tjedna vođe će raspravljati o ambicioznijim obvezama koje se tiču smanjenja emisije stakleničkih plinova s ciljem ograničenja globalnog zagrijavanja na porast od 2 stupnja Celzijeva u odnosu na predindustrijsko razdoblje.

Svjetska meteorološka organizacija uoči dvotjednog samita u Glasgowu, koji počinje u nedjelju, objavila je da je koncentracija stakleničkih plinova dosegnula rekordne vrijednosti prošle godine te da je svijet daleko od ograničenja globalnog zagrijavanja.

Godišnje izvješće Programa Ujedinjenih naroda za okoliš (UNEP), koje mjeri jaz između očekivanih emisija i emisija dogovorenih Pariškim sporazumom iz 2015., navodi da nova obećanja predviđene emisije za 2030., za dodatnih 7,5 posto u odnosu na prethodne obveze.

Ako se trend nastavi do kraja stoljeća globalno bi se temperatura povećala za 2,7 stupnjeva Celzijevih, što je nešto manje od 3 stupnja Celzijevih iz UNEP-ove prošlogodišnje projekcije.

Potrebno je smanjenje emisije stakleničkih plinova od 30 posto kako bi se ograničilo zagrijavanje na 2 stupnja Celzijeva te smanjenje od 55 posto kako bi se zagrijavanje ograničilo na 1,5 stupnjeva Celzijevih.

Zemlje skupine G20, odgovorne za 80 posto globalne emisije, po trenutnim pokazateljima neće ispuniti ciljeve za 2030. godinu.

"Ako ne dođe do značajnog smanjenja emisija u sljedećem desetljeću, zauvijek ćemo izgubiti mogućnost da dosegnemo 1,5 stupnjeva", rekao je glavni tajnik UN-a Antonio Guterres novinarima.

"Apsolutno je nužno da se sve zemlje G20 prije ili u Glasgowu obvežu da su kompatibilne sa smanjenjem na 1,5 stupnjeva", dodao je.

Najnoviji podaci UN-a pokazuju da su 143 zemlje, koje čine oko 57 posto globalnih emisija, podnijele nove ili ažurirane planove smanjenja emisija prije samita COP26, što bi dovelo do smanjenja emisija tih zemalja od 9 posto do 2030, u odnosu na 2010.

Ali ako se uzmu zajedno sva obećanja 192 zemlje prema Pariškom sporazumu, očekuje se povećanje globalnih emisija od oko 16% do 2030. u odnosu na 2010., što bi dovelo do zagrijavanja od oko 2,7 stupnjeva Celzijevih.

Kina i Indija, zajedno odgovorne za oko 30 posto globalnih emisija, još se nisu obvezale na dodatna smanjenja emisije stakleničkih plinova.

Zabrinjavajuće izvješće UN-a: evo koliko bi temperatura u svijetu mogla porasti do kraja stoljeća

Po trenutnim obvezama za smanjenje emisije stakleničkih plinova, globalno će temperatura porasti do kraja stoljeća za 2,7 stupnjeva Celzijevih, navodi se u izvješću Ujedinjenih Naroda objavljenom u utorak.

Na klimatskom samitu COP26 idućeg tjedna vođe će raspravljati o ambicioznijim obvezama koje se tiču smanjenja emisije stakleničkih plinova s ciljem ograničenja globalnog zagrijavanja na porast od 2 stupnja Celzijeva u odnosu na predindustrijsko razdoblje.

Svjetska meteorološka organizacija uoči dvotjednog samita u Glasgowu, koji počinje u nedjelju, objavila je da je koncentracija stakleničkih plinova dosegnula rekordne vrijednosti prošle godine te da je svijet daleko od ograničenja globalnog zagrijavanja.
