Islamski pokret otpora Hamas (arapski predanost, hrabrost) palestinska je sunitsko-islamistička i fundamentalistička organizacija koja od 2007. posve samostalno upravlja pojasom Gaze. Imaju vojno i političko krilo, a kao i svi militanti razvili su se na račun racionalnog mirotvorstva Palestinske oslobodilačke organizacije (PLO-a) koju je do smrti vodio Yasser Arafat.

Kad je Izrael s PLO-om 1993. dogovorio ograničenu palestinsku autonomiju u Gazi i na dijelovima Zapadne obale, ovi radikali otežavali su upornim oružanim incidentima svaki prijenos vlasti na prijelazne palestinske strukture. Sve do nove palestinske intifade 2000. godine Gaza je bila stalno poprište oružanih sukoba, sa stotinama mrtvih. Izraelske snage povukle su se naposljetku iz ovog pojasa s oko 10 tisuća židovskih doseljenika 2005. godine, a već iduće održani su palestinski izbori na kojima je pobijedio Hamas i posve potisnuo PLO i svaki tračak kompromisa iz mržnjom zatrovanih odnosa. Umjerenjački palestinski pokret Fatah ostao je utjecajan samo na Zapadnoj obali, drugoj palestinskoj enklavi, i među palestinskim stanovništvom Jeruzalema. Popularnost islamista Hamasa među Palestincima nikad u povijesti nije bila veća. Tome je pridonijela i činjenica da je Izrael ciljanim napadima eliminirao gotovo cijelo vodstvo Hamasa, uključujući i njegovog osnivača, šeika Ahmeda Yassina, pretvarajući ih u mučenike.

Bolji poznavatelji stanja na Bliskom istoku uvjereno će reći da je Hamas rođen kao svojedobni projekt Izraela za sprečavanje mirovnog procesa, koji se u međuvremenu oteo kontroli. Osnovan je davne 1987. kao podružnica egipatskog Muslimanskog bratstva. Danas ta organizacija ispaljuje na židovske gradove tisuće raketa i gaji goleme političke ambicije. Dugogogodišnji ekspert za ovo područje, sarajevski novinar Zlatko Dizdarević, svjedoči kako je puno puta osobno prisustvovao napadima Izraela na Gazu, ne samo zračnim, nego i ulasku pješadije.

- Svaki put su izraelske snage dolazile samo do ulaza u štab Hamasa i nikad nisu završile tu priču. I u ovoj najnovijoj eskalaciji ponašanje im je isto- tvrdi Dizdarević u sarajevskom „Oslobođenju“.

Hamas uopće ne priznaje postojanje Izraela kao državnopravnog subjekta, već njegovo područje zove „cionistički entitet.“ Stav je te organizacije da čitava Palestina pripada isključivo Arapima, te niječu svako pravo Židovima da imaju državu na tom području. Zbog takve isključivosti niz država poput Australije, Izraela, Japana, Kanade, Novog Zelanda, SAD-a, Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva i Europske unije smatraju Hamas terorističkom organizacijom. Hamasovo vojno krilo, brigada Izzuddin Kasam, protivi se bilo kakvom primirju. Djeluju već godinama čestim osvetničkim akcijama bombaša-samoubojica po izraelskim gradovima: njezini fanatici opašu se eksplozivom i napune džepove maticama, čavlima i željeznim otpacima, te se raznose u prepunim autobusima i restoranima ubijajući nevine. Obitelji su im kasnije zbrinute donacijama iranske ili saudijske vlade.

Gotovo cijeli pojas Gaze ispresijecan je gustom mrežom Hamasovih podzemnih tunela kojega kolokvijalno zovu Metro, a koji služi za bijeg i skrivanje boraca i borbenih oruđa od izraelskih napada. Hamasov raketni arsenal donedavno se uglavnom sastojao od kratkodometnih raketa Qassam iz kućne radinosti, no zadnji napadi dalekometnim sovjetskim raketama Grad kojima su probijali sustav tzv. Željezne kupole i gađali Tel Aviv, dio Jeruzalema, Beer Ševu i Aškelon svjedoče o nezamerivom tehnološkom napretku. Novim tipom rakete, čiji je domet navodno čak 220 kilometara, napali su nedavno i udaljeni aerodrom Ramon u turističkom gradu Eilatu na jugu Izraela, na obali Crvenog mora.

Rat je dobitna kombinacija za radikale na obje strane. On je jedina šansa tehničkom premijeru Izraela, jastrebu Bibiju Netanyahuu, da usred suđenja za korupciju ostane na vlasti i osujeti oporbenog centrista Yaira Lapida u namjerama formiranja buduće vlade. Istodobno, rat, krv nevinih i novi mrtvi zalog su i za politički opstanak Hamasovih terorističkih fanatika koji smatraju izdajnikom svakoga tko pristaje na izraelsko prisustvo.

Svaki izraelski projektil upućen u pojas Gaze predstavlja poen u njihovu korist: riječ je o najvećem logoru na otvorenom na svijetu, gdje oko 1,5 milijun Palestinaca živi na svega 350 kvadratnih kilometara, a više od polovice mlađe je od 15 godina.

Islamski pokret otpora Hamas (arapski predanost, hrabrost) palestinska je sunitsko-islamistička i fundamentalistička organizacija koja od 2007. posve samostalno upravlja pojasom Gaze. Imaju vojno i političko krilo, a kao i svi militanti razvili su se na račun racionalnog mirotvorstva Palestinske oslobodilačke organizacije (PLO-a) koju je do smrti vodio Yasser Arafat.

Kad je Izrael s PLO-om 1993. dogovorio ograničenu palestinsku autonomiju u Gazi i na dijelovima Zapadne obale, ovi radikali otežavali su upornim oružanim incidentima svaki prijenos vlasti na prijelazne palestinske strukture. Sve do nove palestinske intifade 2000. godine Gaza je bila stalno poprište oružanih sukoba, sa stotinama mrtvih. Izraelske snage povukle su se naposljetku iz ovog pojasa s oko 10 tisuća židovskih doseljenika 2005. godine, a već iduće održani su palestinski izbori na kojima je pobijedio Hamas i posve potisnuo PLO i svaki tračak kompromisa iz mržnjom zatrovanih odnosa. Umjerenjački palestinski pokret Fatah ostao je utjecajan samo na Zapadnoj obali, drugoj palestinskoj enklavi, i među palestinskim stanovništvom Jeruzalema. Popularnost islamista Hamasa među Palestincima nikad u povijesti nije bila veća. Tome je pridonijela i činjenica da je Izrael ciljanim napadima eliminirao gotovo cijelo vodstvo Hamasa, uključujući i njegovog osnivača, šeika Ahmeda Yassina, pretvarajući ih u mučenike.

Bolji poznavatelji stanja na Bliskom istoku uvjereno će reći da je Hamas rođen kao svojedobni projekt Izraela za sprečavanje mirovnog procesa, koji se u međuvremenu oteo kontroli. Osnovan je davne 1987. kao podružnica egipatskog Muslimanskog bratstva. Danas ta organizacija ispaljuje na židovske gradove tisuće raketa i gaji goleme političke ambicije. Dugogogodišnji ekspert za ovo područje, sarajevski novinar Zlatko Dizdarević, svjedoči kako je puno puta osobno prisustvovao napadima Izraela na Gazu, ne samo zračnim, nego i ulasku pješadije.

- Svaki put su izraelske snage dolazile samo do ulaza u štab Hamasa i nikad nisu završile tu priču. I u ovoj najnovijoj eskalaciji ponašanje im je isto- tvrdi Dizdarević u sarajevskom „Oslobođenju“.

Hamas uopće ne priznaje postojanje Izraela kao državnopravnog subjekta, već njegovo područje zove „cionistički entitet.“ Stav je te organizacije da čitava Palestina pripada isključivo Arapima, te niječu svako pravo Židovima da imaju državu na tom području. Zbog takve isključivosti niz država poput Australije, Izraela, Japana, Kanade, Novog Zelanda, SAD-a, Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva i Europske unije smatraju Hamas terorističkom organizacijom. Hamasovo vojno krilo, brigada Izzuddin Kasam, protivi se bilo kakvom primirju. Djeluju već godinama čestim osvetničkim akcijama bombaša-samoubojica po izraelskim gradovima: njezini fanatici opašu se eksplozivom i napune džepove maticama, čavlima i željeznim otpacima, te se raznose u prepunim autobusima i restoranima ubijajući nevine. Obitelji su im kasnije zbrinute donacijama iranske ili saudijske vlade.

Gotovo cijeli pojas Gaze ispresijecan je gustom mrežom Hamasovih podzemnih tunela kojega kolokvijalno zovu Metro, a koji služi za bijeg i skrivanje boraca i borbenih oruđa od izraelskih napada. Hamasov raketni arsenal donedavno se uglavnom sastojao od kratkodometnih raketa Qassam iz kućne radinosti, no zadnji napadi dalekometnim sovjetskim raketama Grad kojima su probijali sustav tzv. Željezne kupole i gađali Tel Aviv, dio Jeruzalema, Beer Ševu i Aškelon svjedoče o nezamerivom tehnološkom napretku. Novim tipom rakete, čiji je domet navodno čak 220 kilometara, napali su nedavno i udaljeni aerodrom Ramon u turističkom gradu Eilatu na jugu Izraela, na obali Crvenog mora.

Rat je dobitna kombinacija za radikale na obje strane. On je jedina šansa tehničkom premijeru Izraela, jastrebu Bibiju Netanyahuu, da usred suđenja za korupciju ostane na vlasti i osujeti oporbenog centrista Yaira Lapida u namjerama formiranja buduće vlade. Istodobno, rat, krv nevinih i novi mrtvi zalog su i za politički opstanak Hamasovih terorističkih fanatika koji smatraju izdajnikom svakoga tko pristaje na izraelsko prisustvo.

Svaki izraelski projektil upućen u pojas Gaze predstavlja poen u njihovu korist: riječ je o najvećem logoru na otvorenom na svijetu, gdje oko 1,5 milijun Palestinaca živi na svega 350 kvadratnih kilometara, a više od polovice mlađe je od 15 godina.
