Potonuće trajekta "MS Estonia" 1994. bilo je najveća katastrofa nekoga broda u Europi nakon Drugog svjetskog rata. Obitelji žrtava sada žele same provesti istragu o uzroku katastrofe.

Obitelji žrtava "Estonije" namjeravaju ronioce i robote uputiti do olupine broda koji je potonuo u Baltičkom moru. Tim stručnjaka koji financira privatna inicijativa namjerava 18. rujna krenuti u akciju. Planirano je korištenje više podvodnih robota i ronilaca. Oni bi trebali utvrditi kakve štete su vidljive na olupini broda, izraditi trodimenzionalnu snimku i pretražiti okolinu olupine na morskom dnu, piše Deutsche Welle.

Voditelj ekspedicije je Margus Kurm. On je u estonskom glavnom gradu Tallinu objasnio da švedski zakon po kojem je zabranjeno ronjenje do olupine broda Estonia vrijedi samo u Švedskoj,  a da se olupina nalazi u međunarodnim vodama.

Lennart Berglund iz švedske Zaklade žrtava i njihovih obitelji SEA izjavio je da je istraživanje jako važno kako bi se utvrdio stvarni uzrok nesreće. A Raivo Hellerma iz organizacije obitelji žrtava Memento Mare naglasio je: "Mi ne tražimo krivce niti pokušavamo dokazati neku postojeću teoriju. Ja jednostavno mislim da je ovo jedinstvena prilika da nađemo odgovore barem na neka pitanja koja još imamo."

Trajekt "MS Estonia" je 28. rujna 1994. plovio iz estonskog Tallina prema švedskom glavnom gradu Stockholmu s 989 putnika i članova posade. Noću je potonuo ispred južne finske obale. Poginulo je 852 ljudi, a samo ih je 137 preživjelo. Švedska, Estonija i Finska odlučile su se da se olupinu broda ne vadi nego su 1995. mjesto potonuća broda proglasile posljednjim počivalištem žrtava katastrofe, do kojega je ronjenje zabranjeno.

Prema službenom izvještaju o uzroku nesreće iz 1997. godine uzrok potonuća broda su otrgnuta podizna pramčana vrata. Ali, do danas postoje sumnje u točnost te tvrdnje. Snimatelji dokumentarnih filmova su nedavno pokrenuli raspravu o tomu nakon što su uz pomoć podvodnog robota utvrdili da na trupu broda postoje rupe, piše Deutsche Welle.

Potonuće trajekta "MS Estonia" 1994. bilo je najveća katastrofa nekoga broda u Europi nakon Drugog svjetskog rata. Obitelji žrtava sada žele same provesti istragu o uzroku katastrofe.

Obitelji žrtava "Estonije" namjeravaju ronioce i robote uputiti do olupine broda koji je potonuo u Baltičkom moru. Tim stručnjaka koji financira privatna inicijativa namjerava 18. rujna krenuti u akciju. Planirano je korištenje više podvodnih robota i ronilaca. Oni bi trebali utvrditi kakve štete su vidljive na olupini broda, izraditi trodimenzionalnu snimku i pretražiti okolinu olupine na morskom dnu, piše Deutsche Welle.

Voditelj ekspedicije je Margus Kurm. On je u estonskom glavnom gradu Tallinu objasnio da švedski zakon po kojem je zabranjeno ronjenje do olupine broda Estonia vrijedi samo u Švedskoj,  a da se olupina nalazi u međunarodnim vodama.

Lennart Berglund iz švedske Zaklade žrtava i njihovih obitelji SEA izjavio je da je istraživanje jako važno kako bi se utvrdio stvarni uzrok nesreće. A Raivo Hellerma iz organizacije obitelji žrtava Memento Mare naglasio je: "Mi ne tražimo krivce niti pokušavamo dokazati neku postojeću teoriju. Ja jednostavno mislim da je ovo jedinstvena prilika da nađemo odgovore barem na neka pitanja koja još imamo."

Trajekt "MS Estonia" je 28. rujna 1994. plovio iz estonskog Tallina prema švedskom glavnom gradu Stockholmu s 989 putnika i članova posade. Noću je potonuo ispred južne finske obale. Poginulo je 852 ljudi, a samo ih je 137 preživjelo. Švedska, Estonija i Finska odlučile su se da se olupinu broda ne vadi nego su 1995. mjesto potonuća broda proglasile posljednjim počivalištem žrtava katastrofe, do kojega je ronjenje zabranjeno.

Prema službenom izvještaju o uzroku nesreće iz 1997. godine uzrok potonuća broda su otrgnuta podizna pramčana vrata. Ali, do danas postoje sumnje u točnost te tvrdnje. Snimatelji dokumentarnih filmova su nedavno pokrenuli raspravu o tomu nakon što su uz pomoć podvodnog robota utvrdili da na trupu broda postoje rupe, piše Deutsche Welle.
