Natalie Sue pripisala je kašalj koji ju je mučio dva mjeseca simptomima prehlade sve dok nije iskašljala ugrušak veličine palca. Kozmetičarka s Floride idući se dan odvezla na Hitnu, a rezultati su pokazali kako boluje od raka koji joj je razorio pluća, piše Daily Mail, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Ono što je začudilo sve prisutne je da nije bolovala od tipičnog raka pluća već je bolest krenula od madeža koji je uklonila prije pet godina. Naime, 2017. posjetila je dermatologa zbog sumnjivog madeža na vratu za koji je naknadno utvrđeno kako se radi o melanomu, odnosno raku kože. Testovi su pokazali da se bolest nije proširila, uklonila je madež i nastavila sa životom.

U međuvremenu je rodila sina i proširila posao. Kad je vidjela izraz lica radiologa koji joj je snimio pluća, znala je da se radi o nečem ozbiljnom. Naknadnom biopsijom ustanovljeno je kako je bolest dosegla četvrti stadij te joj je rečeno kako su šanse da poživi narednih pet godina svega 30 posto.

- Srce mi je stalo, pitala sam liječnika hoću li umrijeti, a on je odgovorio: ‘Ne znam‘. U trenutku mi se srušio cijeli svijet, rekla je Sue.

Nazvala je obitelj kako bi im javila novosti taman pred obiteljsko putovanje u Meksiko. Iako su je nagovarali da otkaže put, bila je odlučna u naumu da ipak ode na godišnji jer se bojala da će joj to biti posljednje putovanje. Kad su se vratili s putovanja, Sue se suočila s osam mjeseci imunoterapije i kemoterapije.

- Osjećala sam toliku bol dok sam ležala na kauču da nisam mogla funkcionirati bez uzimanja neke vrste ibuprofena svaka četiri sata, tvrdi Sue.

Nakon posljednjeg ciklusa kemoterapije, dobila je žuticu zbog zatajenja jetre. Nekoliko mjeseci bila je primorana primati visoke doze steroida. Kozmetičarki je bolest za koju je vjerovala da je tek prehlada započela 2022. godine sa simptomima poput kašlja i boli u grlu, a često je i pila vodu kako bi utažila nenormalnu žeđ.

Povremeno je imala groznicu, no sve je to pripisivala tome što joj je sin bio izložen bacilima u školi. Posljednja u nizu "prehlada" nije nikako prolazila, kašljala je toliko intenzivno da se u salonu morala udaljavati od klijenata zbog napadaja kašlja.

U veljači 2023. doznala je sretne vijesti. Nakon 276 dana, četiri runde imunoterapije i hospitalizacije zbog zatajenja jetre, izliječila je rak.

- Uspjela sam. Pobijedila sam rak četvrtog stadija!, napisala je na Instagramu.

Melanom je oblik raka kože koji je rjeđi od drugih vrsta, ali opasniji. U tri posto slučajeva primarni je izvor bolesti nepoznat. Američko društvo za borbu protiv raka procjenjuje da će u 2024. godini istu dijagnozu primiti 100.600 ljudi, što će činiti pet posto svih novih karcinoma. Prema njihovoj procjeni 8.300 ljudi će umrijeti od melanoma, što će činiti 1,4 posto smrti od raka.

Rizik od dobivanja raka je oko tri posto, ili jedna od 33 osobe. Stope novih melanoma variraju kod ljudi mlađih od 50 godina, stabilne su kod žena, a od ranih 2000-tih opadaju za oko jedan posto godišnje kod muškaraca. Petogodišnja stopa preživljavanja je 94 posto, no pada na 35 posto za melanome koji su se proširili, piše Jutarnji list.

Natalie Sue pripisala je kašalj koji ju je mučio dva mjeseca simptomima prehlade sve dok nije iskašljala ugrušak veličine palca. Kozmetičarka s Floride idući se dan odvezla na Hitnu, a rezultati su pokazali kako boluje od raka koji joj je razorio pluća, piše Daily Mail, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Ono što je začudilo sve prisutne je da nije bolovala od tipičnog raka pluća već je bolest krenula od madeža koji je uklonila prije pet godina. Naime, 2017. posjetila je dermatologa zbog sumnjivog madeža na vratu za koji je naknadno utvrđeno kako se radi o melanomu, odnosno raku kože. Testovi su pokazali da se bolest nije proširila, uklonila je madež i nastavila sa životom.

U međuvremenu je rodila sina i proširila posao. Kad je vidjela izraz lica radiologa koji joj je snimio pluća, znala je da se radi o nečem ozbiljnom. Naknadnom biopsijom ustanovljeno je kako je bolest dosegla četvrti stadij te joj je rečeno kako su šanse da poživi narednih pet godina svega 30 posto.

- Srce mi je stalo, pitala sam liječnika hoću li umrijeti, a on je odgovorio: ‘Ne znam‘. U trenutku mi se srušio cijeli svijet, rekla je Sue.

Nazvala je obitelj kako bi im javila novosti taman pred obiteljsko putovanje u Meksiko. Iako su je nagovarali da otkaže put, bila je odlučna u naumu da ipak ode na godišnji jer se bojala da će joj to biti posljednje putovanje. Kad su se vratili s putovanja, Sue se suočila s osam mjeseci imunoterapije i kemoterapije.

- Osjećala sam toliku bol dok sam ležala na kauču da nisam mogla funkcionirati bez uzimanja neke vrste ibuprofena svaka četiri sata, tvrdi Sue.

Nakon posljednjeg ciklusa kemoterapije, dobila je žuticu zbog zatajenja jetre. Nekoliko mjeseci bila je primorana primati visoke doze steroida. Kozmetičarki je bolest za koju je vjerovala da je tek prehlada započela 2022. godine sa simptomima poput kašlja i boli u grlu, a često je i pila vodu kako bi utažila nenormalnu žeđ.

Povremeno je imala groznicu, no sve je to pripisivala tome što joj je sin bio izložen bacilima u školi. Posljednja u nizu "prehlada" nije nikako prolazila, kašljala je toliko intenzivno da se u salonu morala udaljavati od klijenata zbog napadaja kašlja.

U veljači 2023. doznala je sretne vijesti. Nakon 276 dana, četiri runde imunoterapije i hospitalizacije zbog zatajenja jetre, izliječila je rak.

- Uspjela sam. Pobijedila sam rak četvrtog stadija!, napisala je na Instagramu.

Melanom je oblik raka kože koji je rjeđi od drugih vrsta, ali opasniji. U tri posto slučajeva primarni je izvor bolesti nepoznat. Američko društvo za borbu protiv raka procjenjuje da će u 2024. godini istu dijagnozu primiti 100.600 ljudi, što će činiti pet posto svih novih karcinoma. Prema njihovoj procjeni 8.300 ljudi će umrijeti od melanoma, što će činiti 1,4 posto smrti od raka.

Rizik od dobivanja raka je oko tri posto, ili jedna od 33 osobe. Stope novih melanoma variraju kod ljudi mlađih od 50 godina, stabilne su kod žena, a od ranih 2000-tih opadaju za oko jedan posto godišnje kod muškaraca. Petogodišnja stopa preživljavanja je 94 posto, no pada na 35 posto za melanome koji su se proširili, piše Jutarnji list.

Natalie Sue pripisala je kašalj koji ju je mučio dva mjeseca simptomima prehlade sve dok nije iskašljala ugrušak veličine palca. Kozmetičarka s Floride idući se dan odvezla na Hitnu, a rezultati su pokazali kako boluje od raka koji joj je razorio pluća, piše Daily Mail, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Ono što je začudilo sve prisutne je da nije bolovala od tipičnog raka pluća već je bolest krenula od madeža koji je uklonila prije pet godina. Naime, 2017. posjetila je dermatologa zbog sumnjivog madeža na vratu za koji je naknadno utvrđeno kako se radi o melanomu, odnosno raku kože. Testovi su pokazali da se bolest nije proširila, uklonila je madež i nastavila sa životom.
