Četvrta doza Pfizer/BioNTech cjepiva protiv covida-19 pružila je značajnu dodatnu zaštitu od teške bolesti, hospitalizacije i smrti tijekom najmanje mjesec dana kod starijih osoba, prema izraelskoj studiji provedenoj u vrijeme kad je varijanta omikron bila dominantna.

Procijenjena učinkovitost četvrte doze od 7. do 30. dana nakon što je primijenjena u usporedbi s trećom dozom danom najmanje četiri mjeseca prije toga bila je 45 posto u osiguranju zaštite od infekcije, 55 posto u osiguranju zaštite od simptomatske bolesti, 68 posto u osiguranju od hospitalizacije, 62 posto u pružanju zaštite od teške bolesti i 74 posto u zaštiti od smrtnog ishoda, izvijestio je znanstveni tim u srijedu u čaopisu New England Journal of Medicine.

Studija je usporedila 182.122 osobe u dobi od 60 i više godina koje su primile četvrtu dozu i 182.122 vrlo slične osobe koje su primile treću dozu, ali ne i četvrtu.

"Rezultati naše studije u stvarnom svijetu sugeriraju da je četvrta doza cjepiva, barem u početku, učinkovita protiv varijante omikron", rekli su znanstvenici.

"Dodatno praćenje omogućit će daljnju procjenu zaštite koju pruža četvrta doza tijekom vremena."

Prije desetak dana objavljena veća izraelska studija, koja je samo proučavala stopu zaraze i težih simptoma bolesti nakon četvrte doze, utvrdila je da učinkovitost nestaje brzo u pogledu zaraze, no traje dulje u zaštiti od teže bolesti.

Znanstvenici su u toj studiji utvrdili da zaštita od razvoja težih oblika bolesti nije iščezla ni šest tjedana nakon primanja druge docjepne doze.

Studijom je bilo obuhvaćeno 1,3 milijuna osoba u dobi od 60 i više godina.

Još jedna izraelska studija objavljena prošli mjesec pokazala da je stopa smrtnosti među starijim osobama koje su primile drugi booster Pfizer/BioNTecha niža za 78 posto u odnosu na smrtnost među onima koji su primili samo jednu docjepnu dozu.

Četvrta doza Pfizer/BioNTech cjepiva protiv covida-19 pružila je značajnu dodatnu zaštitu od teške bolesti, hospitalizacije i smrti tijekom najmanje mjesec dana kod starijih osoba, prema izraelskoj studiji provedenoj u vrijeme kad je varijanta omikron bila dominantna.

Procijenjena učinkovitost četvrte doze od 7. do 30. dana nakon što je primijenjena u usporedbi s trećom dozom danom najmanje četiri mjeseca prije toga bila je 45 posto u osiguranju zaštite od infekcije, 55 posto u osiguranju zaštite od simptomatske bolesti, 68 posto u osiguranju od hospitalizacije, 62 posto u pružanju zaštite od teške bolesti i 74 posto u zaštiti od smrtnog ishoda, izvijestio je znanstveni tim u srijedu u čaopisu New England Journal of Medicine.

Studija je usporedila 182.122 osobe u dobi od 60 i više godina koje su primile četvrtu dozu i 182.122 vrlo slične osobe koje su primile treću dozu, ali ne i četvrtu.

"Rezultati naše studije u stvarnom svijetu sugeriraju da je četvrta doza cjepiva, barem u početku, učinkovita protiv varijante omikron", rekli su znanstvenici.

"Dodatno praćenje omogućit će daljnju procjenu zaštite koju pruža četvrta doza tijekom vremena."

Prije desetak dana objavljena veća izraelska studija, koja je samo proučavala stopu zaraze i težih simptoma bolesti nakon četvrte doze, utvrdila je da učinkovitost nestaje brzo u pogledu zaraze, no traje dulje u zaštiti od teže bolesti.

Znanstvenici su u toj studiji utvrdili da zaštita od razvoja težih oblika bolesti nije iščezla ni šest tjedana nakon primanja druge docjepne doze.

Studijom je bilo obuhvaćeno 1,3 milijuna osoba u dobi od 60 i više godina.

Još jedna izraelska studija objavljena prošli mjesec pokazala da je stopa smrtnosti među starijim osobama koje su primile drugi booster Pfizer/BioNTecha niža za 78 posto u odnosu na smrtnost među onima koji su primili samo jednu docjepnu dozu.

Četvrta doza Pfizer/BioNTech cjepiva protiv covida-19 pružila je značajnu dodatnu zaštitu od teške bolesti, hospitalizacije i smrti tijekom najmanje mjesec dana kod starijih osoba, prema izraelskoj studiji provedenoj u vrijeme kad je varijanta omikron bila dominantna.

Procijenjena učinkovitost četvrte doze od 7. do 30. dana nakon što je primijenjena u usporedbi s trećom dozom danom najmanje četiri mjeseca prije toga bila je 45 posto u osiguranju zaštite od infekcije, 55 posto u osiguranju zaštite od simptomatske bolesti, 68 posto u osiguranju od hospitalizacije, 62 posto u pružanju zaštite od teške bolesti i 74 posto u zaštiti od smrtnog ishoda, izvijestio je znanstveni tim u srijedu u čaopisu New England Journal of Medicine.
