Dosad najveće istraživanje učinkovitosti cjepiva Pfizer/BioNTech protiv koronavirusa na općoj populaciji pokazalo je u četvrtak da je cjepivo pružilo zaštitu veću od 95 posto, a istodobno je pokazalo da ta zaštita značajno pada ako se osoba cijepi samo jednom, umjesto preporučene dvije doze.

Autori istraživanja iz izraelske nacionalne kampanje cijepljenja rekli su da je pružilo dokaze iz stvarnog života da bi pandemija mogla biti okončana brzim, globalnim programima cijepljenja.

Analiza javnozdravstvenih podataka iz Izraela - jedne od zemalja s najvećim udjelom potpuno cijepljenih odraslih osoba - pokazala je da je cjepivo izuzetno učinkovito zaštitilo i starije osobe u vrijeme kada je dominirala zaraznija engleska varijanta, prema rezultatima objavljenima u medicinskom časopisu Lancet.

Do početka travnja gotovo 5 milijuna ljudi u Izraelu primilo je dvije doze Pfizer / BioNTech cjepiva što je više od 70 posto stanovništva.

Studija je pokazala da dvije doze pružaju 95,3 posto zaštite od infekcije i 96,7 zaštite od smrti sedam dana nakon druge doze. Nakon 14 dana ta se zaštita povećala na 96,5 posto, odnosno 98 posto.

No zaštita je bila znatno niža kad su ljudi dobili samo jednu dozu cjepiva.

Između sedam i 14 dana nakon prve doze utvrđeno je da je zaštita od infekcije 57,7 posto, a zaštita od smrti 77 posto.

Autori su rekli da jedna doza može pružiti kraći period zaštite, posebno u okruženju u kojem se pojavljuju nove virusne inačice.

"Važno je što studija pokazuje da dvije doze cjepiva značajno povećavaju razinu imuniteta i zaštite", rekao je Jonathan Ball, profesor molekularne virologije sa Sveučilišta u Nottinghamu, koji nije bio uključen u istraživanje.

"Zbog toga je važno da ljudi dobiju obje doze."

Tijekom istraživanja zabilježeno je 232 268 potvrđenih infekcija covidom-19, a u gotovo 95 posto testiranih uzoraka utvrđena je engleska varijanta B117. Zabilježena je 4481 teška infekcija i 1113 smrtnih slučajeva.

Znanstveni tim rekao je da nije mogao proučiti učinak južnoafričke varijante, koja je također identificirana u Izraelu.

Do četvrtka najveća studija na općoj populaciji o cjepivu Pfizer / BioNTec, također provedena u Izraelu, bila je gotovo pet puta manja i u njoj je sudjelovalo 1,2 milijuna ljudi.

Komentirajući istraživanje Eyal Lesham iz Medicinskog centra Chaim Sheba i Annelies Wilder-Smith iz Londonske škole za higijenu i tropsku medicinu napisali su da rezultati studije "sugeriraju da bi visoka stopa pokrivenosti cjepivima mogla ponuditi izlaz iz pandemije".

"Nažalost, brzi obuhvat na razini stanovništva ne može se lako ponoviti u mnogim drugim zemljama", rekao je par koji nije sudjelovao u studiji čiji su rezultati objavljeni u časopisu Lancet.

"Globalna primjena cjepiva (Pfizer / BioNTech) ograničena je zbog problema s opskrbom, visokim troškovima i zahtjevima za skladištenjem na iznimno niskim temperaturama".

Dosad najveće istraživanje učinkovitosti cjepiva Pfizer/BioNTech protiv koronavirusa na općoj populaciji pokazalo je u četvrtak da je cjepivo pružilo zaštitu veću od 95 posto, a istodobno je pokazalo da ta zaštita značajno pada ako se osoba cijepi samo jednom, umjesto preporučene dvije doze.

Autori istraživanja iz izraelske nacionalne kampanje cijepljenja rekli su da je pružilo dokaze iz stvarnog života da bi pandemija mogla biti okončana brzim, globalnim programima cijepljenja.

Analiza javnozdravstvenih podataka iz Izraela - jedne od zemalja s najvećim udjelom potpuno cijepljenih odraslih osoba - pokazala je da je cjepivo izuzetno učinkovito zaštitilo i starije osobe u vrijeme kada je dominirala zaraznija engleska varijanta, prema rezultatima objavljenima u medicinskom časopisu Lancet.

Do početka travnja gotovo 5 milijuna ljudi u Izraelu primilo je dvije doze Pfizer / BioNTech cjepiva što je više od 70 posto stanovništva.

Studija je pokazala da dvije doze pružaju 95,3 posto zaštite od infekcije i 96,7 zaštite od smrti sedam dana nakon druge doze. Nakon 14 dana ta se zaštita povećala na 96,5 posto, odnosno 98 posto.

No zaštita je bila znatno niža kad su ljudi dobili samo jednu dozu cjepiva.

Između sedam i 14 dana nakon prve doze utvrđeno je da je zaštita od infekcije 57,7 posto, a zaštita od smrti 77 posto.

Autori su rekli da jedna doza može pružiti kraći period zaštite, posebno u okruženju u kojem se pojavljuju nove virusne inačice.

"Važno je što studija pokazuje da dvije doze cjepiva značajno povećavaju razinu imuniteta i zaštite", rekao je Jonathan Ball, profesor molekularne virologije sa Sveučilišta u Nottinghamu, koji nije bio uključen u istraživanje.

"Zbog toga je važno da ljudi dobiju obje doze."

Tijekom istraživanja zabilježeno je 232 268 potvrđenih infekcija covidom-19, a u gotovo 95 posto testiranih uzoraka utvrđena je engleska varijanta B117. Zabilježena je 4481 teška infekcija i 1113 smrtnih slučajeva.

Znanstveni tim rekao je da nije mogao proučiti učinak južnoafričke varijante, koja je također identificirana u Izraelu.

Do četvrtka najveća studija na općoj populaciji o cjepivu Pfizer / BioNTec, također provedena u Izraelu, bila je gotovo pet puta manja i u njoj je sudjelovalo 1,2 milijuna ljudi.

Komentirajući istraživanje Eyal Lesham iz Medicinskog centra Chaim Sheba i Annelies Wilder-Smith iz Londonske škole za higijenu i tropsku medicinu napisali su da rezultati studije "sugeriraju da bi visoka stopa pokrivenosti cjepivima mogla ponuditi izlaz iz pandemije".

Dosad najveće istraživanje učinkovitosti cjepiva Pfizer/BioNTech protiv koronavirusa na općoj populaciji pokazalo je u četvrtak da je cjepivo pružilo zaštitu veću od 95 posto, a istodobno je pokazalo da ta zaštita značajno pada ako se osoba cijepi samo jednom, umjesto preporučene dvije doze.

Autori istraživanja iz izraelske nacionalne kampanje cijepljenja rekli su da je pružilo dokaze iz stvarnog života da bi pandemija mogla biti okončana brzim, globalnim programima cijepljenja.
