Sudjelovanje Cipra u natjecanju za Eurosong navuklo je bijes kršćanskih vjernika koji su u subotu prosvjedovali ispred sjedišta državne televizije u glavnome gradu Nikoziji.
Okupljeni su kritizirali pjesmu španjolskog naziva "El Diablo" (Đavo), domaće predstavnice, pjevačice Elene Tsagrinou jer se, kako su pojasnili, bavi vragom.

Peticiju protiv pjesme na internetu je dosad potpisalo više od 19.000 vjernika, a prije tjedan dana anonimna je osoba prijetila da će podmetnuti požar u zgradu državne radiotelevizije. I ciparska je Pravoslavna crkva pozvala vladu da povuče pjesmu s natjecanja.

Demonstranti su u subotu pred zgradom televizije isticali transparente na kojima je pisalo "Ne El Diablu" i "Cipar voli Krista". Jedan prosvjednik, koji je u rukama nosio veliki križ pokušao se popeti preko zabarikadiranih vrata državne radiotelevizije da bi ušao u zgradu. 
Lokalni list piše da policija, koja je nadzirala demonstracije, ipak nije morala intervenirati.
Unatoč reakcijama dijela stanovnika, državna televizija odlučila je podržati odlazak odabrane pjesme na Eurosong.

"U pjesmi nije riječ o odavanju počasti vragu, već o ženi koja se pokušava otrgnuti iz ralja lošega, zlog muškarca", pojasnili su u priopćenju s javne televizije, a pjesmu je poduprla i vlada u Nikoziji.
Dobra je vijest da je ciparska predstavnica Elena Tsagrinou sve popularnija i u subotu navečer je njezina pjesma na YouTubeu imala milijun pregleda.

Za CNN je rekla da su ona i članovi njezina tima predani svome cilju, a to je predstaviti Cipar na Eurosongu koji se održava u Rotterdamu od 18. do 22. svibnja.

Sudjelovanje Cipra u natjecanju za Eurosong navuklo je bijes kršćanskih vjernika koji su u subotu prosvjedovali ispred sjedišta državne televizije u glavnome gradu Nikoziji.
Okupljeni su kritizirali pjesmu španjolskog naziva "El Diablo" (Đavo), domaće predstavnice, pjevačice Elene Tsagrinou jer se, kako su pojasnili, bavi vragom.

Peticiju protiv pjesme na internetu je dosad potpisalo više od 19.000 vjernika, a prije tjedan dana anonimna je osoba prijetila da će podmetnuti požar u zgradu državne radiotelevizije. I ciparska je Pravoslavna crkva pozvala vladu da povuče pjesmu s natjecanja.

Demonstranti su u subotu pred zgradom televizije isticali transparente na kojima je pisalo "Ne El Diablu" i "Cipar voli Krista". Jedan prosvjednik, koji je u rukama nosio veliki križ pokušao se popeti preko zabarikadiranih vrata državne radiotelevizije da bi ušao u zgradu. 
Lokalni list piše da policija, koja je nadzirala demonstracije, ipak nije morala intervenirati.
Unatoč reakcijama dijela stanovnika, državna televizija odlučila je podržati odlazak odabrane pjesme na Eurosong.

"U pjesmi nije riječ o odavanju počasti vragu, već o ženi koja se pokušava otrgnuti iz ralja lošega, zlog muškarca", pojasnili su u priopćenju s javne televizije, a pjesmu je poduprla i vlada u Nikoziji.
Dobra je vijest da je ciparska predstavnica Elena Tsagrinou sve popularnija i u subotu navečer je njezina pjesma na YouTubeu imala milijun pregleda.

Za CNN je rekla da su ona i članovi njezina tima predani svome cilju, a to je predstaviti Cipar na Eurosongu koji se održava u Rotterdamu od 18. do 22. svibnja.

Sudjelovanje Cipra u natjecanju za Eurosong navuklo je bijes kršćanskih vjernika koji su u subotu prosvjedovali ispred sjedišta državne televizije u glavnome gradu Nikoziji.
Okupljeni su kritizirali pjesmu španjolskog naziva "El Diablo" (Đavo), domaće predstavnice, pjevačice Elene Tsagrinou jer se, kako su pojasnili, bavi vragom.
