Dalmacija i ostatak hrvatskoj priobalja seizmički su vrlo aktivno područje. Ovakvih, pa i jačih potresa će biti i ubuduće, no o tome kada će se dogoditi apsolutno se ne može govoriti. Potres se ne može predvidjeti, nema nikakvih pravila o tome kada će se dogoditi i na koji način, piše jutarnji.hr.
- Ovo je najjači potres u Hrvatskoj ove godine. U Hrvatskoj se proteklih deset godina dogodilo nekoliko potresa slične jakosti. No, seizmička aktivnost u Dalmaciji nije pojačana u odnosu na višegodišnji prosjek – pojasnio je vodeći hrvatski seizmolog, prof. Marijan Herak s Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta (PMF) u Zagrebu.
Ove su godine stanovnici Dalmacije osjetili neke od serije potresa koji su pogodili središnju Italiju. Najsnažniji od njih magnitude 6,1 prema Richteru u kolovozu je u talijanskoj pokrajini Marke odnio 300 života. Mnogi se građani stoga pitaju je li potres koji se jučer osjetio u Dalmaciji povezan s onima u Italiji posljednjih mjeseci.
- Na ovo bih pitanje još nedavno odgovorio: ‘Ne’. Međutim, mnoga nova istraživanja ukazuju na to da prolazak valova jakog potresa preko rasjedne zona, koja je ‘blizu pucanja’, može biti neposredni uzročnik potresa na tom rasjedu. To znači da seizmički valovi jakih potresa, bilo lokalnih, regionalnih ili vrlo dalekih, mogu dovesti do dovoljnog porasta napetosti na rasjedu da uzrokuju njegov lom - na tom rasjedu bi se potres svakako dogodio, ali nešto kasnije, pa bi vjerojatno bio i nešto veći - naglasio je Marijan Herak.
Naša se zemlja nalazi u seizmički aktivnom području. Seizmički je najaktivnije područje južne Dalmacije, a u kopnenom dijelu Hrvatske šire područje Medvednice. Također, seizmički je aktivno i kvarnersko područje, odnosno šire riječko područje, od slovenske granice pa do južno od Senja.
Seizmolozi procjenjuju da bi najveća magnituda potresa koji bi mogao pogoditi Zagreb bila 6,5 prema Richteru. Potres koji bi pogodio Zagreb u mnogo čemu bi bio sličan onome koji se u travnju 2009. dogodio u talijanskom gradu L’Aquili pa bismo iz toga slučaja mogli mnogo toga naučiti.
Inače, Zagreb je 1880. godine već pogodio jak potres, za koji se procjenjuje da mu je magnituda bila veća od 6 prema Richteru, a u Stonu 1996. godine je iznosio šest stupnjeva po istoj ljestvici.

Dalmacija i ostatak hrvatskoj priobalja seizmički su vrlo aktivno područje. Ovakvih, pa i jačih potresa će biti i ubuduće, no o tome kada će se dogoditi apsolutno se ne može govoriti. Potres se ne može predvidjeti, nema nikakvih pravila o tome kada će se dogoditi i na koji način, piše jutarnji.hr.
- Ovo je najjači potres u Hrvatskoj ove godine. U Hrvatskoj se proteklih deset godina dogodilo nekoliko potresa slične jakosti. No, seizmička aktivnost u Dalmaciji nije pojačana u odnosu na višegodišnji prosjek – pojasnio je vodeći hrvatski seizmolog, prof. Marijan Herak s Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta (PMF) u Zagrebu.
Ove su godine stanovnici Dalmacije osjetili neke od serije potresa koji su pogodili središnju Italiju. Najsnažniji od njih magnitude 6,1 prema Richteru u kolovozu je u talijanskoj pokrajini Marke odnio 300 života. Mnogi se građani stoga pitaju je li potres koji se jučer osjetio u Dalmaciji povezan s onima u Italiji posljednjih mjeseci.
- Na ovo bih pitanje još nedavno odgovorio: ‘Ne’. Međutim, mnoga nova istraživanja ukazuju na to da prolazak valova jakog potresa preko rasjedne zona, koja je ‘blizu pucanja’, može biti neposredni uzročnik potresa na tom rasjedu. To znači da seizmički valovi jakih potresa, bilo lokalnih, regionalnih ili vrlo dalekih, mogu dovesti do dovoljnog porasta napetosti na rasjedu da uzrokuju njegov lom - na tom rasjedu bi se potres svakako dogodio, ali nešto kasnije, pa bi vjerojatno bio i nešto veći - naglasio je Marijan Herak.
Naša se zemlja nalazi u seizmički aktivnom području. Seizmički je najaktivnije područje južne Dalmacije, a u kopnenom dijelu Hrvatske šire područje Medvednice. Također, seizmički je aktivno i kvarnersko područje, odnosno šire riječko područje, od slovenske granice pa do južno od Senja.
Seizmolozi procjenjuju da bi najveća magnituda potresa koji bi mogao pogoditi Zagreb bila 6,5 prema Richteru. Potres koji bi pogodio Zagreb u mnogo čemu bi bio sličan onome koji se u travnju 2009. dogodio u talijanskom gradu L’Aquili pa bismo iz toga slučaja mogli mnogo toga naučiti.
Inače, Zagreb je 1880. godine već pogodio jak potres, za koji se procjenjuje da mu je magnituda bila veća od 6 prema Richteru, a u Stonu 1996. godine je iznosio šest stupnjeva po istoj ljestvici.
