Svjetska organizacija za zaštitu prirode (WWF) upozorila je u četvrtak da primjer snimljenog "tigra na trajektu" otvara mnoga pitanja o adekvatnosti zakonodavnog sustava te pokazuje potrebu za boljim provođenjem postojećih zakona.
Danas se ujedno obilježava i Svjetski dan tigrova, životinja koje su kritično ugrožene, a WWF se osvrnuo i na snimku s trajekta Hvar-Split na kojem su putnici snimili sibirskog tigra u prikolici.
"U Hrvatskoj nije zakonom zabranjeno držati tigrove u privatnom vlasništvu ako su za to zadovoljeni svi uvjeti. Transport divljih životinja se mora obavljati u skladu s nacionalnim propisima o prijevozu životinja: treba biti osiguran poseban, dovoljno velik i čvrst kavez, temperature trebaju biti optimalne kako ne bi uznemirile životinju, u pratnji mora biti veterinar ili stručna osoba, a potreban je i video nadzor", stoji u priopćenju WWF-a.
Poručuju kako strogo osuđuju posjedovanje divljih životinja kao ljubimaca radi trgovine i zabave, dodavši da je njihovo držanje opravdano samo u slučaju očuvanja vrste ili u edukacijske svrhe.
"Ozbiljan je problem što se tigrovi iz divljine i tigrovi rođeni u uzgoju zakonski ne tretiraju na isti način. Strogo je zabranjena trgovina živim ili mrtvim tigrovima iz divljine kao i dijelovima njihovih tijela ili raznim derivatima dobivenima od tigra.
Kod tigrova iz uzgoja situacija je nešto drugačija - njihov transport i trgovina često su odobreni ili prolaze nezabilježeno među državama članicama EU. Iz tog razloga ilegalna trgovina i krivolov rastu", upozorava u priopćenju voditeljica programa zaštite WWF-a Petra Remeta.
WWF kao problem naglašava i nedovoljne kontrole izvoza, uvoza i prijevoza divljih životinja unutar i između država te nepostojanje jedinstvene baze podataka dolaska na svijet i uginuća tigrova u uzgoju.
Upozorava se kako neke države nekontrolirano uvoze i izvoze tigrove iz uzgoja, pridonoseći crnom tržištu, a izvoz na azijsko tržište smatra se iznimno unosnim poslom.
"WWF nastoji zaustaviti taj trend. Od početka 20. stoljeća smo izgubili oko 95 posto tigrova. Zadnjih 11 godina WWF provodi inicijativu TX2 – udvostručimo broj tigrova. Iako su njihovi brojevi narasli, a u nekim su azijskim državama i ostvareni TX2 ciljeva, i danas brojimo tek oko 3900 tigrova u divljini", navodi se u priopćenju.
Upozoravaju kako je populacija tigrova i dalje u padu, uz glavne krivce krivolov i ilegalnu trgovinu.
WWF je započeo i projekt pod nazivom "Uspješan progon kaznenih djela protiv divljih vrsta u Europi" (LIFE SWiPE) čiji je glavni cilj obeshrabriti zločine nad zaštićenim divljim životinjama i smanjiti ilegalne radnje.

Svjetska organizacija za zaštitu prirode (WWF) upozorila je u četvrtak da primjer snimljenog "tigra na trajektu" otvara mnoga pitanja o adekvatnosti zakonodavnog sustava te pokazuje potrebu za boljim provođenjem postojećih zakona.
Danas se ujedno obilježava i Svjetski dan tigrova, životinja koje su kritično ugrožene, a WWF se osvrnuo i na snimku s trajekta Hvar-Split na kojem su putnici snimili sibirskog tigra u prikolici.
"U Hrvatskoj nije zakonom zabranjeno držati tigrove u privatnom vlasništvu ako su za to zadovoljeni svi uvjeti. Transport divljih životinja se mora obavljati u skladu s nacionalnim propisima o prijevozu životinja: treba biti osiguran poseban, dovoljno velik i čvrst kavez, temperature trebaju biti optimalne kako ne bi uznemirile životinju, u pratnji mora biti veterinar ili stručna osoba, a potreban je i video nadzor", stoji u priopćenju WWF-a.
Poručuju kako strogo osuđuju posjedovanje divljih životinja kao ljubimaca radi trgovine i zabave, dodavši da je njihovo držanje opravdano samo u slučaju očuvanja vrste ili u edukacijske svrhe.
"Ozbiljan je problem što se tigrovi iz divljine i tigrovi rođeni u uzgoju zakonski ne tretiraju na isti način. Strogo je zabranjena trgovina živim ili mrtvim tigrovima iz divljine kao i dijelovima njihovih tijela ili raznim derivatima dobivenima od tigra.
Kod tigrova iz uzgoja situacija je nešto drugačija - njihov transport i trgovina često su odobreni ili prolaze nezabilježeno među državama članicama EU. Iz tog razloga ilegalna trgovina i krivolov rastu", upozorava u priopćenju voditeljica programa zaštite WWF-a Petra Remeta.
WWF kao problem naglašava i nedovoljne kontrole izvoza, uvoza i prijevoza divljih životinja unutar i između država te nepostojanje jedinstvene baze podataka dolaska na svijet i uginuća tigrova u uzgoju.
Upozorava se kako neke države nekontrolirano uvoze i izvoze tigrove iz uzgoja, pridonoseći crnom tržištu, a izvoz na azijsko tržište smatra se iznimno unosnim poslom.
"WWF nastoji zaustaviti taj trend. Od početka 20. stoljeća smo izgubili oko 95 posto tigrova. Zadnjih 11 godina WWF provodi inicijativu TX2 – udvostručimo broj tigrova. Iako su njihovi brojevi narasli, a u nekim su azijskim državama i ostvareni TX2 ciljeva, i danas brojimo tek oko 3900 tigrova u divljini", navodi se u priopćenju.
Upozoravaju kako je populacija tigrova i dalje u padu, uz glavne krivce krivolov i ilegalnu trgovinu.
WWF je započeo i projekt pod nazivom "Uspješan progon kaznenih djela protiv divljih vrsta u Europi" (LIFE SWiPE) čiji je glavni cilj obeshrabriti zločine nad zaštićenim divljim životinjama i smanjiti ilegalne radnje.
