Epidemiologinja iz HZJZ-a Iva Pem Novosel rekla je u utorak kako je moguće da se virus Zapadnog Nila, nakon što je potvrđen u ponedjeljak u Srbiji, uskoro pojavi i u Hrvatskoj, a najbolja prevencija je korištenje repelenata.
"Srećom, kod nas još nemamo detektiran slučaj, a nismo ga imali ni zadnje dvije sezone, ali rizik postoji kad god je sezona. Najčešće se pojavljuje u uvjetima visokih temperatura, a izgledi su veći ako je prethodno bilo dosta vlage", rekla je Pem Novosel za Dnevnik Nove TV.
S obzirom na to da su prirodni rezervoar toga virusa ptice, a prijenosnici su komarci, lako je moguće da se on uskoro pojavi i u Hrvatskoj, potvrdila je.
Najveći broj zaraženih nema nikakve simptome i tegobe, 20 do 30 posto zaraženih najčešće ima simptome slične gripi, poput povišene tjelesne temperature, boli u mišićima i zglobovima.
Može se javiti mučnina i povraćanje te simptomi slični crijevnoj virozi, ali i osip na trbuhu i leđima, a takvih je slučajeva 2018. godine, kada je zabilježena posljednja epidemija u Hrvatskoj, bilo oko 70.
U svega jedan posto slučajeva može se izraziti manifestna bolest - teški oblik poput meningitisa ili meningoencefalitisa, a najgori oblik je akutna flakcidna paraliza, odnosno slabljenje mišića.
"Ali to je izrazito rijetko, baš kao i smrtni ishod, koji je moguć u tri do 15 posto od tih manifestnih slučajeva. Te 2018. godine imali smo nekoliko smrtnih slučajeva", objasnila je Pem Novosel.
Također je navela kako virus primarno prenose domaći komarci te kako je upotreba repelenata najbolja mjera prevencije. Uz to, potrebno je preventivno djelovati kako bi se što manje množili u našoj okolini pa je važno često prazniti ili pokrivati posude s vodom kako bi se onemogućio razvoj ličinki.
U slučaju pojave simptoma koriste se lijekovi za snižavanje temperature i analgetici, a u slučaju pojave ozbiljnijih simptoma potrebno je obratiti se liječniku, a pogotovo kod izražene višednevne glavobolje.

Epidemiologinja iz HZJZ-a Iva Pem Novosel rekla je u utorak kako je moguće da se virus Zapadnog Nila, nakon što je potvrđen u ponedjeljak u Srbiji, uskoro pojavi i u Hrvatskoj, a najbolja prevencija je korištenje repelenata.
"Srećom, kod nas još nemamo detektiran slučaj, a nismo ga imali ni zadnje dvije sezone, ali rizik postoji kad god je sezona. Najčešće se pojavljuje u uvjetima visokih temperatura, a izgledi su veći ako je prethodno bilo dosta vlage", rekla je Pem Novosel za Dnevnik Nove TV.
S obzirom na to da su prirodni rezervoar toga virusa ptice, a prijenosnici su komarci, lako je moguće da se on uskoro pojavi i u Hrvatskoj, potvrdila je.
Najveći broj zaraženih nema nikakve simptome i tegobe, 20 do 30 posto zaraženih najčešće ima simptome slične gripi, poput povišene tjelesne temperature, boli u mišićima i zglobovima.
Može se javiti mučnina i povraćanje te simptomi slični crijevnoj virozi, ali i osip na trbuhu i leđima, a takvih je slučajeva 2018. godine, kada je zabilježena posljednja epidemija u Hrvatskoj, bilo oko 70.
U svega jedan posto slučajeva može se izraziti manifestna bolest - teški oblik poput meningitisa ili meningoencefalitisa, a najgori oblik je akutna flakcidna paraliza, odnosno slabljenje mišića.
"Ali to je izrazito rijetko, baš kao i smrtni ishod, koji je moguć u tri do 15 posto od tih manifestnih slučajeva. Te 2018. godine imali smo nekoliko smrtnih slučajeva", objasnila je Pem Novosel.
Također je navela kako virus primarno prenose domaći komarci te kako je upotreba repelenata najbolja mjera prevencije. Uz to, potrebno je preventivno djelovati kako bi se što manje množili u našoj okolini pa je važno često prazniti ili pokrivati posude s vodom kako bi se onemogućio razvoj ličinki.
U slučaju pojave simptoma koriste se lijekovi za snižavanje temperature i analgetici, a u slučaju pojave ozbiljnijih simptoma potrebno je obratiti se liječniku, a pogotovo kod izražene višednevne glavobolje.
