Nekada prva tenisačica svijeta, Ruskinja Marija Šarapova dobila je pozivnicu za nastup na WTA Premier turniru u Madridu koji će se igrati od 5. do 12. svibnja.

Turnir u Madridu bit će drugi nastup Šarapove nakon što odsluži 15-mjesečnu suspenziju koju joj je izrekao Međunarodni teniski savez (ITF) zbog pozitivnog dopinškog nalaza na meldonij tijekom prošlogodišnjeg Australian Opena. Suspenzija će joj isteći 26. travnja, tjedan dana nakon što napuni 30 godina, a prvi nastup imat će na turniru u Stuttgartu koji počinje 29. travnja.

"Šarapova je zatražila pozivnicu koju smo joj i odlučili dati. Radi se o jednoj od najboljih tenisačica u posljednjih 15 godina i bivšoj pobjednici našeg turnira", rekao je direktor madridskog turnira Manolo Santana.

Nekada prva tenisačica svijeta, Ruskinja Marija Šarapova dobila je pozivnicu za nastup na WTA Premier turniru u Madridu koji će se igrati od 5. do 12. svibnja.

Turnir u Madridu bit će drugi nastup Šarapove nakon što odsluži 15-mjesečnu suspenziju koju joj je izrekao Međunarodni teniski savez (ITF) zbog pozitivnog dopinškog nalaza na meldonij tijekom prošlogodišnjeg Australian Opena. Suspenzija će joj isteći 26. travnja, tjedan dana nakon što napuni 30 godina, a prvi nastup imat će na turniru u Stuttgartu koji počinje 29. travnja.

"Šarapova je zatražila pozivnicu koju smo joj i odlučili dati. Radi se o jednoj od najboljih tenisačica u posljednjih 15 godina i bivšoj pobjednici našeg turnira", rekao je direktor madridskog turnira Manolo Santana.
