Splićanin Borna Gojo prošle je godine, uz Duju Ajdukovića, bio prva zvijezda splitskog ATP Challengera. Obojica su se probila do polufinala na oduševljenje domaće publike. Ove godine Ajduković je zapeo na drugoj prepreci, a Gojo zbog ozljede leđa nije ni igrao na ovom prvom od dva ovogodišnja splitska turnira.

Ipak, očekujemo ga na drugom koji će se igrati idućeg tjedna, a nada se tome i sami splitski tenisač.

- Bolje mi je, danas sam servirao, u srijedu sam isto servirao, ide ta bol nabolje - kazao nam je Gojo nakon što je na terenima na Baterijama odradio trening s Milijem Poljičkom i Bornom Devaldom.

- Problem mi je donji dio leđa, nadam se da ću u petak uspjeti odservirati na još višoj razini i to će onda biti potvrda da mogu igrati i na turniru - kazao je Gojo.

Splitska kvaliteta

Za njegovo oporavak brine doktor Zoran Tocilj.

- Doktor Tocilj ima metodu koja je pomogla velikom broju sportaša, i meni ide na bolje. Sigurno zna što radi, nadam se najboljem za drugi tjedan. Bio je i Borna Ćorić kod njega, vrhunski je stručnjak i super je imati nekoga takvoga u Splitu, da ne moramo ići daleko.

Prošle godine ste vi i Duje Ajduković oduševili publiku, bili u polufinalu Challengera. Nakon toga ipak ste se na neki način zaustavili.

- Meni je ispalo malo nesretno jer sam nakon tog Splita gotovo prestao igrati, odigrao još dva turnira. Planirao sam otići na predsezonu u Australiju pa sam prerano prestao. Na kraju se ispostavilo da radi COVID-a ne možemo letjeti odmah dolje, da sam to znao mogao sam odigrati još četiri - pet drugih turnira.

Na koncu ste se ipak domogli Australije.

- Početkom godine sam igrao stvarno dobro, imao sam mali peh na prvom ATP 250 turniru u Melbourneu, propustio sam šest meč lopti protiv Australca Popyrina nakon 14 dana karantene. Potom poraz u trećem kolu kvalifikacija Australian Opena od Laaksonena u tie-breaku trećeg seta... Već tada su me “uhvatila” leđa. Onda sam išao u Kazahstan, opet poraz od Laaksonen... Nisam bio sto posto i morao sam na pauzu. Sad opet dobro igram, kad se srede leđa vjerujem da mogu ući u 200, ono što nisam uspio zbog leđa napraviti već sada.

Koliko ste gledali ovaj splitski Challenger koji je u tijeku?

- Pogledao sam malo domaće momke, Ajdukovića, Serdarušića... I trenirao koliko sam mogao, da zadržim formu koliko - toliko da mogu uskočiti u drugi turnir ako sve s leđima bude u redu. Nisam zbog toga gledao turnir koliko sam želio, a nažalost nema ni opcija publike. Lani su me baš nosili, imao sam izgubiti dva meča do polufinala, a oni su me digli. Sad je radi toga teže, ali lijepo je i ogromna stvar za Splićane i hrvatski tenis da kod kuće možemo imati ovakve turnire. Bio je ove godine i Zadar, čujem da će biti i Zagreb. Bitno je i da šansu imaju i mlađi kao Poljičak, Mikrut, Prižmić, zaigrati i vidjeti kako je to na ovoj razini.

Kakvi su vam kratkoročni planovi?

- Nadam se nakon Splita odigrati dva Rima, Zagreb...  Nisam previše planirao. Najbitnije mi je da budem zdrav jer mislim da imam igru. Ne želim sam sebe pritiskati. Bolje mi je nešto zaliječiti da mogu igrati još deset godina nego riskirati i ugroziti karijeru radi nekog sadašnjeg trenutka.

Splićanin Borna Gojo prošle je godine, uz Duju Ajdukovića, bio prva zvijezda splitskog ATP Challengera. Obojica su se probila do polufinala na oduševljenje domaće publike. Ove godine Ajduković je zapeo na drugoj prepreci, a Gojo zbog ozljede leđa nije ni igrao na ovom prvom od dva ovogodišnja splitska turnira.

Ipak, očekujemo ga na drugom koji će se igrati idućeg tjedna, a nada se tome i sami splitski tenisač.

- Bolje mi je, danas sam servirao, u srijedu sam isto servirao, ide ta bol nabolje - kazao nam je Gojo nakon što je na terenima na Baterijama odradio trening s Milijem Poljičkom i Bornom Devaldom.

- Problem mi je donji dio leđa, nadam se da ću u petak uspjeti odservirati na još višoj razini i to će onda biti potvrda da mogu igrati i na turniru - kazao je Gojo.

Splitska kvaliteta

Za njegovo oporavak brine doktor Zoran Tocilj.

- Doktor Tocilj ima metodu koja je pomogla velikom broju sportaša, i meni ide na bolje. Sigurno zna što radi, nadam se najboljem za drugi tjedan. Bio je i Borna Ćorić kod njega, vrhunski je stručnjak i super je imati nekoga takvoga u Splitu, da ne moramo ići daleko.

Prošle godine ste vi i Duje Ajduković oduševili publiku, bili u polufinalu Challengera. Nakon toga ipak ste se na neki način zaustavili.

- Meni je ispalo malo nesretno jer sam nakon tog Splita gotovo prestao igrati, odigrao još dva turnira. Planirao sam otići na predsezonu u Australiju pa sam prerano prestao. Na kraju se ispostavilo da radi COVID-a ne možemo letjeti odmah dolje, da sam to znao mogao sam odigrati još četiri - pet drugih turnira.

Na koncu ste se ipak domogli Australije.

- Početkom godine sam igrao stvarno dobro, imao sam mali peh na prvom ATP 250 turniru u Melbourneu, propustio sam šest meč lopti protiv Australca Popyrina nakon 14 dana karantene. Potom poraz u trećem kolu kvalifikacija Australian Opena od Laaksonena u tie-breaku trećeg seta... Već tada su me “uhvatila” leđa. Onda sam išao u Kazahstan, opet poraz od Laaksonen... Nisam bio sto posto i morao sam na pauzu. Sad opet dobro igram, kad se srede leđa vjerujem da mogu ući u 200, ono što nisam uspio zbog leđa napraviti već sada.

Koliko ste gledali ovaj splitski Challenger koji je u tijeku?

- Pogledao sam malo domaće momke, Ajdukovića, Serdarušića... I trenirao koliko sam mogao, da zadržim formu koliko - toliko da mogu uskočiti u drugi turnir ako sve s leđima bude u redu. Nisam zbog toga gledao turnir koliko sam želio, a nažalost nema ni opcija publike. Lani su me baš nosili, imao sam izgubiti dva meča do polufinala, a oni su me digli. Sad je radi toga teže, ali lijepo je i ogromna stvar za Splićane i hrvatski tenis da kod kuće možemo imati ovakve turnire. Bio je ove godine i Zadar, čujem da će biti i Zagreb. Bitno je i da šansu imaju i mlađi kao Poljičak, Mikrut, Prižmić, zaigrati i vidjeti kako je to na ovoj razini.

Kakvi su vam kratkoročni planovi?

- Nadam se nakon Splita odigrati dva Rima, Zagreb...  Nisam previše planirao. Najbitnije mi je da budem zdrav jer mislim da imam igru. Ne želim sam sebe pritiskati. Bolje mi je nešto zaliječiti da mogu igrati još deset godina nego riskirati i ugroziti karijeru radi nekog sadašnjeg trenutka.

‘Leđa su mi sve bolje, uskoro ulazim u 200’: Borna Gojo vjeruje da će biti spreman za drugi splitski Challenger koji će se igrati idući tjedan

Splićanin Borna Gojo prošle je godine, uz Duju Ajdukovića, bio prva zvijezda splitskog ATP Challengera. Obojica su se probila do polufinala na oduševljenje domaće publike. Ove godine Ajduković je zapeo na drugoj prepreci, a Gojo zbog ozljede leđa nije ni igrao na ovom prvom od dva ovogodišnja splitska turnira.

Ipak, očekujemo ga na drugom koji će se igrati idućeg tjedna, a nada se tome i sami splitski tenisač.

- Bolje mi je, danas sam servirao, u srijedu sam isto servirao, ide ta bol nabolje - kazao nam je Gojo nakon što je na terenima na Baterijama odradio trening s Milijem Poljičkom i Bornom Devaldom.

- Problem mi je donji dio leđa, nadam se da ću u petak uspjeti odservirati na još višoj razini i to će onda biti potvrda da mogu igrati i na turniru - kazao je...
