Uoči susreta s Hrvatskom na press konferenciji reprezentacije Belgije pred sedmu silu su u glavnom medijskom centru u Dohi izašli izbornik Roberto Martinez i obrambeni igrač Leicester Cityja Timothy Castagne. Kasnili su Belgijci čak četiri minute na druženje s novinarima, fotografima i kamermanima zakazano za podne, što je na ovom nivou baš rijetko viđeni gaf. A onda je prvo pred medije izišao Castagne, pa potom tek Martinez, pa su sve otegli i skoro su upali u termin hrvatske presice što je također organizacijski izvan svake pameti.

Opet je glavna tema bio ovotjedni krizni sastanak igrača.

- Sastanak je bio iznimno važan za nas, ali nije se tu radilo o kriznom sastanku. Jako je bilo važno da jedni drugima kažemo sve što imamo za reći – rekao je Castagne.

Zašto bismo nakon viđenog u prva dva susreta trebali vjerovati da ćete pobijediti Hrvatsku?

- Na vama je hoćete li vjerovati ili ne, ja vam govorim on tome što možemo postići – uzvratio je Castagne rezigniranim belgijskim medijima s kojima reprezentativci nisu baš u ljubavi.

Znači li taj sastanak da prije niste bili ujedinjeni kao momčad?

- Mislim da smo funkcionirali kao tim, ali da to nije bilo na zadovoljavajućoj razini. Imali smo problem, prolazimo kroz štošta, prve dvije utakmice nisu bile kakve smo htjeli. Nije dobro izgubiti utakmicu, ali ono što se događalo prikazuje se u medijima puno gore nego što je bilo – objasnio je Castagne.

Tko je favorit u ovom susretu?

- Teško je reći. Znamo da je Hrvatska finalist s prošlog SP-a, ali i da imamo kvalitetu pobijediti – rekao je Castagne.

Je li vam bronca s prošlog SP-a dodatni pritisak?

- Apsolutno jest, to je standard koji smo postavili. Više smo u prvim utakmicama mislili o tome kako ne izgubiti nego kako pobijediti. Moramo igrati bez pretjeranog razmišljanja o tome što će se dogoditi ako izgubimo – naglasio je Castagne.

Kevin De Bruyne je rekao da je većina reprezentacije starija nego u drugim momčadima. Je li i to razlog ovakvih igara?

- To je u određenoj mjeri istina, ne treba bježati od toga. Ne mislim da je Kevin time mislio išta loše, ali ni da se trebamo fokusirati na jednog ili dvojicu igrača, nije to problem – rekao je Castagne.

Potom je stigao Martinez koji je morao objašnjavati kako je riješio problem u svlačionici.

- Nismo zadovoljni našim predstavama, želimo uzvratiti dobrom igrom. Možda smo previše osvrtali na ono što se pisalo o nama. Bolje je što manje slušati buku koja je oko nas. Više je želje da se prezentiraju neke navodne negativnosti nego da se ujedini reprezentacija – rekao je na tu temu Martinez.

De Bruyne i Lukaku nisu na najvišem nivou?

- Ako mislimo da ćemo samo izaći na teren i pouzdati se u neki potez, magiju naših najboljih igrača, to neće biti dobro. Izgubili smo uživanje u nogometu, naši igrači se boje poraza. Sutra imamo priliku da se pokažemo, ali Hrvatska je kvalitetna, motivirana, igrači imaju sinergiju s trenerom – hvalio je Hrvatsku, ali i Dalića.

- On je veliki stručnjak, gospodin. Sjećam se kada je došao na klupu reprezentacije u kaotičnom trenutku. Svi pričaju o veznom redu Hrvatske Modrić, Kovačić, Brozović, a tu su i Perišić, Kramarić... te stalno dolaze novi igrači. Ne mogu ga dovoljno nahvaliti za posao koji je s Hrvatskom napravio. Nevjerojatno je da se nacija od 4,5 milijuna ljudi tako nosi s velikim reprezentacijama – rekao je Martinez koji očito nije pratio rezultate Državnog zavoda za statistiku o prošlogodišnjem popisu stanovništva u RH. Da jest, znao bi da nas imao još mnogo, mnogo manje.

Vraća se Lukaku u početni sastav?

- Ako i nije u top formi on nam je vrlo važan. On je rođeni vođa, lider. Iznimno je važno da bude dio ove momčadi, ali moramo još vidjeti koliko može igrati na ovom prvenstvu – rekao je Martinez.

Hrvatska?

- Impresioniran sam bio gostovanjem Hrvatske kod Francuske u Ligi nacija. Tada ste odigrali iznad svih očekivanja. Povratak Lovrena je nova kvaliteta Hrvatske. Dalić je napravio vrhunski posao. Imate odličan i dinamičan vezni red. Na svakom velikom turniru ste kompetitivni – nabrajao je Martinez.

Opet se loptica vratila na navodni kaos u belgijskoj svlačionici. Smatrate li da je to što je objavio jedan francuski medij izmišljotina?

- Ne razbijam glavu time, ali tko god je to napisao, zabio je Belgiji autogol. Da sam suparnička momčad, da sam novinar koji podupire suparnički tim, možda bih i ja išao tim smjerom – rekao je Martinez kojeg je dočekalo i pitanje o mogućem odlasku s klupe nakon SP-a.

- Mislim da ovo nije trenutak da pričamo o tome. Prirodno je da osjećam razočaranje, ali ova treća utakmica je kao naša treća šansa – kazao je Martinez.

- Kada sam došao na klupu 2016. godine, govorilo se da je zlatna generacija Belgije bila ona sa SP-a 1986. koja je igrala polufinale. Ovo je bez sumnje zlatna generacija Belgije, s 11 milijuna stanovnika četiri godine bili smo na vrhu FIFA-ine ljestvice, osvojili smo broncu na SP-u... Može se reći da zlatna generacija nije osvojila veliki turnir, ali ostavit će sigurno svoje nogometno nasljeđe – naglasio je Martinez.

Uoči susreta s Hrvatskom na press konferenciji reprezentacije Belgije pred sedmu silu su u glavnom medijskom centru u Dohi izašli izbornik Roberto Martinez i obrambeni igrač Leicester Cityja Timothy Castagne. Kasnili su Belgijci čak četiri minute na druženje s novinarima, fotografima i kamermanima zakazano za podne, što je na ovom nivou baš rijetko viđeni gaf. A onda je prvo pred medije izišao Castagne, pa potom tek Martinez, pa su sve otegli i skoro su upali u termin hrvatske presice što je također organizacijski izvan svake pameti.

Opet je glavna tema bio ovotjedni krizni sastanak igrača.

- Sastanak je bio iznimno važan za nas, ali nije se tu radilo o kriznom sastanku. Jako je bilo važno da jedni drugima kažemo sve što imamo za reći – rekao je Castagne.

Zašto bismo nakon viđenog u prva dva susreta trebali vjerovati da ćete pobijediti Hrvatsku?

- Na vama je hoćete li vjerovati ili ne, ja vam govorim on tome što možemo postići – uzvratio je Castagne rezigniranim belgijskim medijima s kojima reprezentativci nisu baš u ljubavi.

Znači li taj sastanak da prije niste bili ujedinjeni kao momčad?

- Mislim da smo funkcionirali kao tim, ali da to nije bilo na zadovoljavajućoj razini. Imali smo problem, prolazimo kroz štošta, prve dvije utakmice nisu bile kakve smo htjeli. Nije dobro izgubiti utakmicu, ali ono što se događalo prikazuje se u medijima puno gore nego što je bilo – objasnio je Castagne.

Tko je favorit u ovom susretu?

- Teško je reći. Znamo da je Hrvatska finalist s prošlog SP-a, ali i da imamo kvalitetu pobijediti – rekao je Castagne.

Je li vam bronca s prošlog SP-a dodatni pritisak?

- Apsolutno jest, to je standard koji smo postavili. Više smo u prvim utakmicama mislili o tome kako ne izgubiti nego kako pobijediti. Moramo igrati bez pretjeranog razmišljanja o tome što će se dogoditi ako izgubimo – naglasio je Castagne.

Kevin De Bruyne je rekao da je većina reprezentacije starija nego u drugim momčadima. Je li i to razlog ovakvih igara?

- To je u određenoj mjeri istina, ne treba bježati od toga. Ne mislim da je Kevin time mislio išta loše, ali ni da se trebamo fokusirati na jednog ili dvojicu igrača, nije to problem – rekao je Castagne.

Potom je stigao Martinez koji je morao objašnjavati kako je riješio problem u svlačionici.

- Nismo zadovoljni našim predstavama, želimo uzvratiti dobrom igrom. Možda smo previše osvrtali na ono što se pisalo o nama. Bolje je što manje slušati buku koja je oko nas. Više je želje da se prezentiraju neke navodne negativnosti nego da se ujedini reprezentacija – rekao je na tu temu Martinez.

De Bruyne i Lukaku nisu na najvišem nivou?

- Ako mislimo da ćemo samo izaći na teren i pouzdati se u neki potez, magiju naših najboljih igrača, to neće biti dobro. Izgubili smo uživanje u nogometu, naši igrači se boje poraza. Sutra imamo priliku da se pokažemo, ali Hrvatska je kvalitetna, motivirana, igrači imaju sinergiju s trenerom – hvalio je Hrvatsku, ali i Dalića.

- On je veliki stručnjak, gospodin. Sjećam se kada je došao na klupu reprezentacije u kaotičnom trenutku. Svi pričaju o veznom redu Hrvatske Modrić, Kovačić, Brozović, a tu su i Perišić, Kramarić... te stalno dolaze novi igrači. Ne mogu ga dovoljno nahvaliti za posao koji je s Hrvatskom napravio. Nevjerojatno je da se nacija od 4,5 milijuna ljudi tako nosi s velikim reprezentacijama – rekao je Martinez koji očito nije pratio rezultate Državnog zavoda za statistiku o prošlogodišnjem popisu stanovništva u RH. Da jest, znao bi da nas imao još mnogo, mnogo manje.

Vraća se Lukaku u početni sastav?

- Ako i nije u top formi on nam je vrlo važan. On je rođeni vođa, lider. Iznimno je važno da bude dio ove momčadi, ali moramo još vidjeti koliko može igrati na ovom prvenstvu – rekao je Martinez.

Hrvatska?

- Impresioniran sam bio gostovanjem Hrvatske kod Francuske u Ligi nacija. Tada ste odigrali iznad svih očekivanja. Povratak Lovrena je nova kvaliteta Hrvatske. Dalić je napravio vrhunski posao. Imate odličan i dinamičan vezni red. Na svakom velikom turniru ste kompetitivni – nabrajao je Martinez.

Opet se loptica vratila na navodni kaos u belgijskoj svlačionici. Smatrate li da je to što je objavio jedan francuski medij izmišljotina?

- Ne razbijam glavu time, ali tko god je to napisao, zabio je Belgiji autogol. Da sam suparnička momčad, da sam novinar koji podupire suparnički tim, možda bih i ja išao tim smjerom – rekao je Martinez kojeg je dočekalo i pitanje o mogućem odlasku s klupe nakon SP-a.

- Mislim da ovo nije trenutak da pričamo o tome. Prirodno je da osjećam razočaranje, ali ova treća utakmica je kao naša treća šansa – kazao je Martinez.

- Kada sam došao na klupu 2016. godine, govorilo se da je zlatna generacija Belgije bila ona sa SP-a 1986. koja je igrala polufinale. Ovo je bez sumnje zlatna generacija Belgije, s 11 milijuna stanovnika četiri godine bili smo na vrhu FIFA-ine ljestvice, osvojili smo broncu na SP-u... Može se reći da zlatna generacija nije osvojila veliki turnir, ali ostavit će sigurno svoje nogometno nasljeđe – naglasio je Martinez.
