Bivši vratar španjolske reprezentacije, 38-godišnji Iker Casillas, najavio je u ponedjeljak kandidaturu za predsjednika Španjolskog nogometnog saveza (RFEF) na izborima najavljenima za ovu godinu.

"Da, kandidirat ću se za predsjednika RFEF-a kada se raspišu izbori. Zajedno ćemo postaviti naš savez na razinu najboljeg nogometa na svijetu. Onog Španjolske“, priopćio je Casillas preko Twittera.

Casillas je svoju namjeru obznanio prošli tjedan državnoj tajnici za sport Irene Lozano koja je predsjednica državnog tijela Visoko vijeće za sport (CSD) sa sjedištem u Madridu.

Iker Casillas živi u Portu te je htio provjeriti hoće li izbori za predsjednika saveza biti održani ranije nego je određeno pravilnikom. Izbori bi se trebali održati u drugoj polovici ove godine, nakon Olimpijskih igrara u Tokiju gdje će nastupiti mlada reprezentacija Španjolske.

No vodstvo saveza je zatražilo od CDS-a da se oni provedu u prvoj polovici godine prije Europskog prvenstva koje se održava od 12. lipnja do 12.srpnja.

Casillas se od kraja prošle godine spominje kao mogući protivnik aktualnog predsjednika, 42-godišnjeg Luisa Rubialesa. Bio je kapetan Španjolske, s kojom je osvojio Europsko prvenstvo 2008. i 2012. te Svjetsko prvenstvo 2010. godine. Bio je i kapetan Real Madrida, u dresu "Kraljevskog kluba" je sakupio 725 utakmica, u ljeto 2015. godine prešao je u Porto.

No prava promjena u njegovoj karijeri nastupila 1. svibnja 2019., na praznik rada. Tog dana je doživio infarkt tijekom treninga s Portom od kuda je bio prevezen u hitnu službu lokalne gradske bolnice. Operiran je, a nakon što je otpušten iz bolnice više nije navlačio vratarske rukavice.

Nagađalo se da bi se možda i mogao vratiti nakon nekog vremena no do danas se to nije dogodilo. Zeleni travnjak zamijenio je uredom podno stadiona "Zmaja" u Portu. Trenutno je menadžer Porta čiji je zadatak uspostavljati odnose između igrača, trenera i klupskih direktora. Nije isključeno da u budućnosti dobije i neku novu funkciju.

Aktualni predsjednik saveza Rubiales, rođen na Kanarskim otocima, došao je pak na funkciju 17. svibnja 2018. godine, zamijenivši 68-godišnjeg Ángela Villara optuženog za korupciju.

Villar je vodio savez 29 godina no zbog optužbi za korupciju je maknut protivno svojoj volji u prosincu 2017. Privremeno ga je tada zamijenio 62-godišnji José Luis Larrea do izbora održanih pet mjeseci kasnije. Na njima je pobjedu odnio Rubiales, bivši predsjednik sindikata španjolskih nogometaša. On je osvojio 80 glasova a Larrea 56 čime je dobio mandat za vođenje saveza do 2020. godine.

Bivši vratar španjolske reprezentacije, 38-godišnji Iker Casillas, najavio je u ponedjeljak kandidaturu za predsjednika Španjolskog nogometnog saveza (RFEF) na izborima najavljenima za ovu godinu.

"Da, kandidirat ću se za predsjednika RFEF-a kada se raspišu izbori. Zajedno ćemo postaviti naš savez na razinu najboljeg nogometa na svijetu. Onog Španjolske“, priopćio je Casillas preko Twittera.

Casillas je svoju namjeru obznanio prošli tjedan državnoj tajnici za sport Irene Lozano koja je predsjednica državnog tijela Visoko vijeće za sport (CSD) sa sjedištem u Madridu.

Iker Casillas živi u Portu te je htio provjeriti hoće li izbori za predsjednika saveza biti održani ranije nego je određeno pravilnikom. Izbori bi se trebali održati u drugoj polovici ove godine, nakon Olimpijskih igrara u Tokiju gdje će nastupiti mlada reprezentacija Španjolske.

No vodstvo saveza je zatražilo od CDS-a da se oni provedu u prvoj polovici godine prije Europskog prvenstva koje se održava od 12. lipnja do 12.srpnja.

Casillas se od kraja prošle godine spominje kao mogući protivnik aktualnog predsjednika, 42-godišnjeg Luisa Rubialesa. Bio je kapetan Španjolske, s kojom je osvojio Europsko prvenstvo 2008. i 2012. te Svjetsko prvenstvo 2010. godine. Bio je i kapetan Real Madrida, u dresu "Kraljevskog kluba" je sakupio 725 utakmica, u ljeto 2015. godine prešao je u Porto.

No prava promjena u njegovoj karijeri nastupila 1. svibnja 2019., na praznik rada. Tog dana je doživio infarkt tijekom treninga s Portom od kuda je bio prevezen u hitnu službu lokalne gradske bolnice. Operiran je, a nakon što je otpušten iz bolnice više nije navlačio vratarske rukavice.

Nagađalo se da bi se možda i mogao vratiti nakon nekog vremena no do danas se to nije dogodilo. Zeleni travnjak zamijenio je uredom podno stadiona "Zmaja" u Portu. Trenutno je menadžer Porta čiji je zadatak uspostavljati odnose između igrača, trenera i klupskih direktora. Nije isključeno da u budućnosti dobije i neku novu funkciju.

Aktualni predsjednik saveza Rubiales, rođen na Kanarskim otocima, došao je pak na funkciju 17. svibnja 2018. godine, zamijenivši 68-godišnjeg Ángela Villara optuženog za korupciju.

Villar je vodio savez 29 godina no zbog optužbi za korupciju je maknut protivno svojoj volji u prosincu 2017. Privremeno ga je tada zamijenio 62-godišnji José Luis Larrea do izbora održanih pet mjeseci kasnije. Na njima je pobjedu odnio Rubiales, bivši predsjednik sindikata španjolskih nogometaša. On je osvojio 80 glasova a Larrea 56 čime je dobio mandat za vođenje saveza do 2020. godine.
