Neuništivi Lino Červar, „Mago di Umago”, danas u Egiptu kreće u svoje šesto Svjetsko prvenstvo na klupi hrvatske reprezentacije.
Sa 70 godina na životnom kalendaru najstariji je među 32 izbornika ondje, a i dalje je poletan, okretan, motiviran i pun elana kao da je na začetku svoje karijere.
Čovjek je to koji je zadužio hrvatski rukomet za sva vremena. Vratio je našu izabranu vrstu na svjetsku mapu nakon nekoliko godina lutanja i rezultatske (ispod)prosječnosti krajem 90-ih i početkom 2000-ih godina izbrusivši do kraja zlatnu generaciju Balića, Lackovića, Metličića, Džombe...
Gledajući samo nastupe na Mundijalima, potpisao je zasad naše jedino zlato iz Portugala 2003., a igrao je i još dva finala (2005. i 2009.). U onoj nesretnoj Njemačkoj 2007. zauzeo je peto mjesto iako je doživio samo jedan poraz od Francuske u četvrtfinalu, a ista nas je zemlja spriječila da se radujemo na SP-u 2009. kojemu smo bili domaćini porazivši nas u finalu.
Kraj nakon Tokija?
Vraćajući Hrvatskoj status velesile, Červar je došao do fantastičnog učinka od 40 pobjeda i samo osam poraza na svjetskim prvenstvima. Gotovo polovicu poraza (tri) upisao je 2019. od Brazila, Njemačke i Švedske pa je na tom turniru ostvario i svoj najlošiji plasman s Hrvatskom, šesto mjesto. A kad ti je šesto mjesto najgori rezultat, to je samo pokazatelj kontinuiteta, odnosno da krojiš stvari pri vrhu i da te se uvijek nešto pita kad je najvažnije.
Budući da je prije dvije godine Hrvatska u Danskoj i Njemačkoj odradila turnir ispod očekivanja, Egipat je ujedno i prilika za iskupljenje, tim više što je vjerojatno riječ o posljednjem Červarovu nastupu s Hrvatskom na ovom natjecanju. Sjetimo se, dogovor je s Hrvatskim rukometnim savezom bio da se oprašta nakon Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju, no kako su one odgođene za godinu dana, tako je i produžen njegov mandat.
Vrlo skoro, već u ožujku, Hrvatsku čekaju kvalifikacije za Tokio koje neće biti nimalo lako proći. Osim domaćina Francuske, igramo još protiv sve jačeg Portugala i nezgodnog Tunisa. Bit će gadno. No o tom potom.
Fokus je sada isključivo na Egiptu gdje Hrvatska ima jako dobre šanse za velik rezultat. Nije jedina koja tako razmišlja, ali nekako smo optimistični. Reprezentacija je još uvijek u naletu, ohrabrena lanjskim finalom Eura, pomogla je i pobjeda u Poreču protiv europskog prvaka Španjolske, a dobro je i što smo jedna od rijetkih reprezentacija koja nema prevelikih problema s izostancima.
Koronavirus nije se probio u naše redove kao recimo u Češku ili SAD – i nadamo se da neće – a od standardnih igrača nedostaje samo Luka Stepančić. Karačić i Šego dugo su bili upitni, ali su ipak otputovali na sjeveroistok Afrike i bit će na dispoziciji izborniku. Dug je turnir, bit će vremena za njih.
Dakle, praktički smo u najjačem sastavu, a to je nešto s čime se mnoge reprezentacije ne mogu pohvaliti. Nije to nikakav jamac uspjeha – uostalom sjećamo se kako su Nijemci postali prvaci Europe 2016. bez pola momčadi – ali je svakako solidan temelj.
Nećemo se lagati, zalog za optimizam je i – Lino Červar. Sinonim za uspjeh i živuća legenda koja ne misli stati. Prošle je godine pokazao da u njemu još ima vatre i sposobnosti za prave stvari, a sada to želi potvrditi i u Egiptu. I po mogućnosti opet odvesti Hrvatsku do vrha. Prva stepenica je Japan.

Neuništivi Lino Červar, „Mago di Umago”, danas u Egiptu kreće u svoje šesto Svjetsko prvenstvo na klupi hrvatske reprezentacije.
Sa 70 godina na životnom kalendaru najstariji je među 32 izbornika ondje, a i dalje je poletan, okretan, motiviran i pun elana kao da je na začetku svoje karijere.
Čovjek je to koji je zadužio hrvatski rukomet za sva vremena. Vratio je našu izabranu vrstu na svjetsku mapu nakon nekoliko godina lutanja i rezultatske (ispod)prosječnosti krajem 90-ih i početkom 2000-ih godina izbrusivši do kraja zlatnu generaciju Balića, Lackovića, Metličića, Džombe...
Gledajući samo nastupe na Mundijalima, potpisao je zasad naše jedino zlato iz Portugala 2003., a igrao je i još dva finala (2005. i 2009.). U onoj nesretnoj Njemačkoj 2007. zauzeo je peto mjesto iako je doživio samo jedan poraz od Francuske u četvrtfinalu, a ista nas je zemlja spriječila da se radujemo na SP-u 2009. kojemu smo bili domaćini porazivši nas u finalu.
Kraj nakon Tokija?
Vraćajući Hrvatskoj status velesile, Červar je došao do fantastičnog učinka od 40 pobjeda i samo osam poraza na svjetskim prvenstvima. Gotovo polovicu poraza (tri) upisao je 2019. od Brazila, Njemačke i Švedske pa je na tom turniru ostvario i svoj najlošiji plasman s Hrvatskom, šesto mjesto. A kad ti je šesto mjesto najgori rezultat, to je samo pokazatelj kontinuiteta, odnosno da krojiš stvari pri vrhu i da te se uvijek nešto pita kad je najvažnije.
Budući da je prije dvije godine Hrvatska u Danskoj i Njemačkoj odradila turnir ispod očekivanja, Egipat je ujedno i prilika za iskupljenje, tim više što je vjerojatno riječ o posljednjem Červarovu nastupu s Hrvatskom na ovom natjecanju. Sjetimo se, dogovor je s Hrvatskim rukometnim savezom bio da se oprašta nakon Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju, no kako su one odgođene za godinu dana, tako je i produžen njegov mandat.
Vrlo skoro, već u ožujku, Hrvatsku čekaju kvalifikacije za Tokio koje neće biti nimalo lako proći. Osim domaćina Francuske, igramo još protiv sve jačeg Portugala i nezgodnog Tunisa. Bit će gadno. No o tom potom.
Fokus je sada isključivo na Egiptu gdje Hrvatska ima jako dobre šanse za velik rezultat. Nije jedina koja tako razmišlja, ali nekako smo optimistični. Reprezentacija je još uvijek u naletu, ohrabrena lanjskim finalom Eura, pomogla je i pobjeda u Poreču protiv europskog prvaka Španjolske, a dobro je i što smo jedna od rijetkih reprezentacija koja nema prevelikih problema s izostancima.
Koronavirus nije se probio u naše redove kao recimo u Češku ili SAD – i nadamo se da neće – a od standardnih igrača nedostaje samo Luka Stepančić. Karačić i Šego dugo su bili upitni, ali su ipak otputovali na sjeveroistok Afrike i bit će na dispoziciji izborniku. Dug je turnir, bit će vremena za njih.
Dakle, praktički smo u najjačem sastavu, a to je nešto s čime se mnoge reprezentacije ne mogu pohvaliti. Nije to nikakav jamac uspjeha – uostalom sjećamo se kako su Nijemci postali prvaci Europe 2016. bez pola momčadi – ali je svakako solidan temelj.
Nećemo se lagati, zalog za optimizam je i – Lino Červar. Sinonim za uspjeh i živuća legenda koja ne misli stati. Prošle je godine pokazao da u njemu još ima vatre i sposobnosti za prave stvari, a sada to želi potvrditi i u Egiptu. I po mogućnosti opet odvesti Hrvatsku do vrha. Prva stepenica je Japan.
