Talibansko preuzimanje vlasti u Afganistanu uništilo je snove Zakije Khudadadi, taekwondoašice koja je za desetak dana u Tokiju trebala postati prva paraolimpijka u povijesti te zemlje. U Japan je trebala doputovati jučer, no to nije bilo nemoguće. Talibani su zauzeli sve velike gradove, među njima i glavni grad Kabul, dok su američke snage preuzele kontrolu zračnog prometa i privremeno obustavile evakuacijske letove, pa je Međunarodni paraolimpijski odbor objavio nesretnu vijest da Zakia i kolega paraolimpijac Hossain Rasouli nisu uspjeli na vrijeme napustiti zemlju.

- Nažalost, zbog svega što se događa u Afganistanu reprezentacija nije stigla napustiti Kabul na vrijeme - potvrdio je za Reuters šef afganistanske misije Arian Sadiqi.

Usprkos svim problemima u državi, Zakia i Hossain, jedini predstavnici Afganistana u Tokiju, nadali su se da će njihov nastup poslati poruku mira i nade, ali od toga neće biti ništa. Priča je to od koje se slama srce, pogotovo ako pročitate njihove izjave od prije samo nekoliko dana kada je njihov nastup najavljen na službenoj stranici Međunarodnog paraolimpijskog odbora.

- Kad sam dobila pozivnicu za nastup, bila sam oduševljena, ali i zabrinuta jer sam imala samo dva mjeseca za pripremu i to praktički u nikakvim uvjetima. Ovo mi je prilika da pokažem što mogu, želim biti u Tokiju s drugim sportašima iz cijelog svijeta - govorila je 23-godišnjakinja iz Herata koja ima jednu funkcionalnu ruku.

Godinu stariji bacač diska Rasouli izgubio je dio lijeve ruke u eksploziji mine.

- San mi je sudjelovati na Paraolimpijskim igrama i osvojiti medalju.

Nažalost, to će mu ostati san koji možda nikad neće ni stići realizirati jer je budućnost Afganistana i njegova sporta upitna. Pogotovo što se žena tiče. Recentni događaji mogli bi dodatno unazaditi sport u toj zemlji.

- Proteklih je godina bilo dosta napretka, dok se ranije tijekom prijašnje talibanske ere nismo mogli natjecati, pogotovo žene. Za mene je ovo srceparajuće. Trebali smo ispisati povijest s prvom paraolimpijkom u povijesti naše zemlje. Zakia je bila jako uzbuđena, s puno je strasti čekala svoj nastup i bila bi sjajan uzor svim mladima i ženama u Afganistanu - rekao je Sadiqi, ne znajući gdje se dvoje paraolimpijaca trenutno nalazi i jesu li na sigurnom.

Talibansko preuzimanje vlasti u Afganistanu uništilo je snove Zakije Khudadadi, taekwondoašice koja je za desetak dana u Tokiju trebala postati prva paraolimpijka u povijesti te zemlje. U Japan je trebala doputovati jučer, no to nije bilo nemoguće. Talibani su zauzeli sve velike gradove, među njima i glavni grad Kabul, dok su američke snage preuzele kontrolu zračnog prometa i privremeno obustavile evakuacijske letove, pa je Međunarodni paraolimpijski odbor objavio nesretnu vijest da Zakia i kolega paraolimpijac Hossain Rasouli nisu uspjeli na vrijeme napustiti zemlju.

- Nažalost, zbog svega što se događa u Afganistanu reprezentacija nije stigla napustiti Kabul na vrijeme - potvrdio je za Reuters šef afganistanske misije Arian Sadiqi.

Usprkos svim problemima u državi, Zakia i Hossain, jedini predstavnici Afganistana u Tokiju, nadali su se da će njihov nastup poslati poruku mira i nade, ali od toga neće biti ništa. Priča je to od koje se slama srce, pogotovo ako pročitate njihove izjave od prije samo nekoliko dana kada je njihov nastup najavljen na službenoj stranici Međunarodnog paraolimpijskog odbora.

- Kad sam dobila pozivnicu za nastup, bila sam oduševljena, ali i zabrinuta jer sam imala samo dva mjeseca za pripremu i to praktički u nikakvim uvjetima. Ovo mi je prilika da pokažem što mogu, želim biti u Tokiju s drugim sportašima iz cijelog svijeta - govorila je 23-godišnjakinja iz Herata koja ima jednu funkcionalnu ruku.

Godinu stariji bacač diska Rasouli izgubio je dio lijeve ruke u eksploziji mine.

- San mi je sudjelovati na Paraolimpijskim igrama i osvojiti medalju.

Nažalost, to će mu ostati san koji možda nikad neće ni stići realizirati jer je budućnost Afganistana i njegova sporta upitna. Pogotovo što se žena tiče. Recentni događaji mogli bi dodatno unazaditi sport u toj zemlji.

- Proteklih je godina bilo dosta napretka, dok se ranije tijekom prijašnje talibanske ere nismo mogli natjecati, pogotovo žene. Za mene je ovo srceparajuće. Trebali smo ispisati povijest s prvom paraolimpijkom u povijesti naše zemlje. Zakia je bila jako uzbuđena, s puno je strasti čekala svoj nastup i bila bi sjajan uzor svim mladima i ženama u Afganistanu - rekao je Sadiqi, ne znajući gdje se dvoje paraolimpijaca trenutno nalazi i jesu li na sigurnom.

Trebala postati prva paraolimpijka u povijesti svoje zemlje: Afganistanka zbog situacije u Kabulu ostala bez Tokija

Talibansko preuzimanje vlasti u Afganistanu uništilo je snove Zakije Khudadadi, taekwondoašice koja je za desetak dana u Tokiju trebala postati prva paraolimpijka u povijesti te zemlje. U Japan je trebala doputovati jučer, no to nije bilo nemoguće. Talibani su zauzeli sve velike gradove, među njima i glavni grad Kabul, dok su američke snage preuzele kontrolu zračnog prometa i privremeno obustavile evakuacijske letove, pa je Međunarodni paraolimpijski odbor objavio nesretnu vijest da Zakia i kolega paraolimpijac Hossain Rasouli nisu uspjeli na vrijeme napustiti zemlju.

- Nažalost, zbog svega što se događa u Afganistanu reprezentacija nije stigla napustiti Kabul na vrijeme - potvrdio je za Reuters šef afganistanske misije Arian Sadiqi.
