Sudbina Europskog prvenstva u nogometu danas bi trebala biti poznata. Kada će se ono igrati i u kakvim uvjetima, bit će jasnije nakon hitnog sastanka u sjedištu UEFA-e, Nyonu.

Čelna europska nogometna kuća pozvala je na videokonferenciju predstavnike svojih 55 članica, ECA-e (Europsko udruženje klubova), europskih liga i FIFProa. Razgovarat će se o raspletima domaćih liga i europskih klupskih natjecanja, kao i naravno Eura koji bi se trebao održati od 12. lipnja do 12. srpnja ove godine diljem Starog kontinenta. No sve je izvjesnije kako će dobiti novi termin.

Francuski L'Equipe najavio je da će se Euro pomaknuti za lipanj 2021., dok je engleski Telegraph uvjeren da će se igrati ove godine, ali u prosincu. I to su zapravo dvije najrealnije opcije. Zadržavanje postojećeg termina doima se teško izvedivim budući da je nemoguće znati kada će se pandemija koronavirusa primiriti. Štoviše, njezin se vrhunac tek očekuje i u takvim bi uvjetima bilo suviše riskantno održati europsku smotru tijekom lipnja i srpnja, tim više što se sama utakmica otvaranja treba igrati u Rimu, glavnom gradu zemlje koja je najviše pogođena koronavirusom u Europi. A da ne govorimo da je malo izgledno, ako uopće, da se do lipnja dovrše europske lige.

Teška je odluka pred Uefom. Kakva god ona bila, nema onoga tko neće biti na gubitku. Netko većem, netko manjem. Nešto će se morati žrtvovati, a čini se da će to biti Euro.

Njegovo pomicanje prema prosincu 2020. europskim bi ligama dalo dovoljno vremena da privedu sezonu kraju, ako treba i tijekom ljeta, što mnogi smatraju prioritetom. Istovremeno bi igračima pomoglo da se pripreme za 2022. godinu kada se Svjetsko prvenstvo u Kataru održava u studenom i prosincu. Ako bi se, pak, odlučilo Euro pomaknuti na lipanj i srpanj 2021., tada bi nastao problem kako ga uklopiti s ostalim događajima u tom razdoblju - ženskim Eurom kojem je domaćin Engleska, muškim Eurom do 21 godine i prvim proširenim izdanjem Svjetskog klupskog prvenstva u Kini pod patronatom FIFA-e.

Osim Hrvatskog nogometnog saveza, odgodu Eura podržava i predsjednik Talijanskog nogometnog saveza Gabriele Gravina, dok je predsjednik španjolske La Lige Javier Tebas uvjeren da će se njihova liga završiti, premda je Španjolska uz Italiju najviše propatila zbog koronavirusa u Europi. Međutim, na njihove daljnje korake bitno će utjecati ishod današnjeg sastanka u Nyonu, kao i generalna situacija s koronavirusom u tim zemljama.

Što se Lige prvaka i Europske lige tiče, oba su natjecanja u fazi osmine finala, dakle podosta je još utakmica ostalo do kraja. UEFA navodno ozbiljno razmišlja o tome da se četvrtfinala i polufinala odigraju na jednu utakmicu umjesto dvije, ili da se polufinala i finale tijekom istog tjedna odigraju kao miniturniri u Istanbulu i Gdanjsku, gradovima domaćinima finala tih dvaju natjecanja. To bi logistički bilo jednostavnije jer bi zahtijevalo manje termina, manje putovanja i najmanje bi remetilo rasporede domaćih klupskih natjecanja. U svakom slučaju, nekih će korekcija morati biti jer nije realno očekivati da će se oba natjecanja dovršiti unutar zacrtanog rasporeda.

Sudbina Europskog prvenstva u nogometu danas bi trebala biti poznata. Kada će se ono igrati i u kakvim uvjetima, bit će jasnije nakon hitnog sastanka u sjedištu UEFA-e, Nyonu.

Čelna europska nogometna kuća pozvala je na videokonferenciju predstavnike svojih 55 članica, ECA-e (Europsko udruženje klubova), europskih liga i FIFProa. Razgovarat će se o raspletima domaćih liga i europskih klupskih natjecanja, kao i naravno Eura koji bi se trebao održati od 12. lipnja do 12. srpnja ove godine diljem Starog kontinenta. No sve je izvjesnije kako će dobiti novi termin.

Francuski L'Equipe najavio je da će se Euro pomaknuti za lipanj 2021., dok je engleski Telegraph uvjeren da će se igrati ove godine, ali u prosincu. I to su zapravo dvije najrealnije opcije. Zadržavanje postojećeg termina doima se teško izvedivim budući da je nemoguće znati kada će se pandemija koronavirusa primiriti. Štoviše, njezin se vrhunac tek očekuje i u takvim bi uvjetima bilo suviše riskantno održati europsku smotru tijekom lipnja i srpnja, tim više što se sama utakmica otvaranja treba igrati u Rimu, glavnom gradu zemlje koja je najviše pogođena koronavirusom u Europi. A da ne govorimo da je malo izgledno, ako uopće, da se do lipnja dovrše europske lige.

Teška je odluka pred Uefom. Kakva god ona bila, nema onoga tko neće biti na gubitku. Netko većem, netko manjem. Nešto će se morati žrtvovati, a čini se da će to biti Euro.

Njegovo pomicanje prema prosincu 2020. europskim bi ligama dalo dovoljno vremena da privedu sezonu kraju, ako treba i tijekom ljeta, što mnogi smatraju prioritetom. Istovremeno bi igračima pomoglo da se pripreme za 2022. godinu kada se Svjetsko prvenstvo u Kataru održava u studenom i prosincu. Ako bi se, pak, odlučilo Euro pomaknuti na lipanj i srpanj 2021., tada bi nastao problem kako ga uklopiti s ostalim događajima u tom razdoblju - ženskim Eurom kojem je domaćin Engleska, muškim Eurom do 21 godine i prvim proširenim izdanjem Svjetskog klupskog prvenstva u Kini pod patronatom FIFA-e.

Osim Hrvatskog nogometnog saveza, odgodu Eura podržava i predsjednik Talijanskog nogometnog saveza Gabriele Gravina, dok je predsjednik španjolske La Lige Javier Tebas uvjeren da će se njihova liga završiti, premda je Španjolska uz Italiju najviše propatila zbog koronavirusa u Europi. Međutim, na njihove daljnje korake bitno će utjecati ishod današnjeg sastanka u Nyonu, kao i generalna situacija s koronavirusom u tim zemljama.

Što se Lige prvaka i Europske lige tiče, oba su natjecanja u fazi osmine finala, dakle podosta je još utakmica ostalo do kraja. UEFA navodno ozbiljno razmišlja o tome da se četvrtfinala i polufinala odigraju na jednu utakmicu umjesto dvije, ili da se polufinala i finale tijekom istog tjedna odigraju kao miniturniri u Istanbulu i Gdanjsku, gradovima domaćinima finala tih dvaju natjecanja. To bi logistički bilo jednostavnije jer bi zahtijevalo manje termina, manje putovanja i najmanje bi remetilo rasporede domaćih klupskih natjecanja. U svakom slučaju, nekih će korekcija morati biti jer nije realno očekivati da će se oba natjecanja dovršiti unutar zacrtanog rasporeda.

Sudbina Europskog prvenstva u nogometu danas bi trebala biti poznata. Kada će se ono igrati i u kakvim uvjetima, bit će jasnije nakon hitnog sastanka u sjedištu UEFA-e, Nyonu.

Čelna europska nogometna kuća pozvala je na videokonferenciju predstavnike svojih 55 članica, ECA-e (Europsko udruženje klubova), europskih liga i FIFProa. Razgovarat će se o raspletima domaćih liga i europskih klupskih natjecanja, kao i naravno Eura koji bi se trebao održati od 12. lipnja do 12. srpnja ove godine diljem Starog kontinenta. No sve je izvjesnije kako će dobiti novi termin.

Francuski L'Equipe najavio je da će se Euro pomaknuti za lipanj 2021., dok je engleski Telegraph uvjeren da će se igrati ove godine, ali u prosincu. I to su zapravo dvije najrealnije opcije. Zadržavanje postojećeg...
