Naime, proteklih dana planeti Jupiter i Venera su u konjunkciji, a to nama gledajući sa zemlje izgleda kao da se kreću jedno prema drugome, čini nam se da su potpuno blizu. No, istina je drugačija - udaljeni su više od nevjerojatnih 600 milijuna kilometara!

---O JUPITERU:
Jupiter, planet s najvećim promjerom i najvećom masom u Sunčevu sustavu, peti po udaljenosti od Sunca. Vidljiv je sa Zemlje golim okom i zato poznat od davnine (prividna magnituda –2,94 do –1,66). Motrenja pomrčine Jupiterovih satelita služila su u pomorstvu za određivanje položaja broda, geografske dužine, u doba kada nije bilo pouzdanih kronometara ni radiosignala. Na temelju neravnomjernosti u pojavama pomrčina satelita, s obzirom na njihovu udaljenost od Zemlje, izračunao je Ole Christensen Römer prvi put brzinu svjetlosti. Nazvan je po Jupiteru, bogu u rimskoj mitologiji.

---O VENERI:
Venera, drugi planet po udaljenosti od Sunca, ujedno najsjajniji na nebu. Vidljiva je sa Zemlje golim okom i zato poznata od davnine. Najveća kutna udaljenost od Sunca iznosi 47° pa se vidi ili uvečer na zapadu kao Večernja zvijezda ili ujutro na istoku kao Danica. Gledano teleskopski, pokazuje mijene, periodične promjene osvijetljenosti tijekom sinodičke godine (približno 583,9 d), koje nalikuju na Mjesečeve mijene, a nastaju zbog promjene Venerina položaja prema Zemlji i Suncu. Venerini prijelazi pojavljuju se četiri puta u 243 godine; poslužili su za određivanje udaljenosti Zemlje od Sunca. Nazvana je po Veneri, božici u rimskoj mitologiji. Nema satelite, navodi Hrvatska enciklopedija Leksikografskog zavoda Miroslav Krleža.

---O JUPITERU:
Jupiter, planet s najvećim promjerom i najvećom masom u Sunčevu sustavu, peti po udaljenosti od Sunca. Vidljiv je sa Zemlje golim okom i zato poznat od davnine (prividna magnituda –2,94 do –1,66). Motrenja pomrčine Jupiterovih satelita služila su u pomorstvu za određivanje položaja broda, geografske dužine, u doba kada nije bilo pouzdanih kronometara ni radiosignala. Na temelju neravnomjernosti u pojavama pomrčina satelita, s obzirom na njihovu udaljenost od Zemlje, izračunao je Ole Christensen Römer prvi put brzinu svjetlosti. Nazvan je po Jupiteru, bogu u rimskoj mitologiji.

Venera, drugi planet po udaljenosti od Sunca, ujedno najsjajniji na nebu. Vidljiva je sa Zemlje golim okom i zato poznata od davnine. Najveća kutna udaljenost od Sunca iznosi 47° pa se vidi ili uvečer na zapadu kao Večernja zvijezda ili ujutro na istoku kao Danica. Gledano teleskopski, pokazuje mijene, periodične promjene osvijetljenosti tijekom sinodičke godine (približno 583,9 d), koje nalikuju na Mjesečeve mijene, a nastaju zbog promjene Venerina položaja prema Zemlji i Suncu. Venerini prijelazi pojavljuju se četiri puta u 243 godine; poslužili su za određivanje udaljenosti Zemlje od Sunca. Nazvana je po Veneri, božici u rimskoj mitologiji. Nema satelite, navodi Hrvatska enciklopedija Leksikografskog zavoda Miroslav Krleža.

No, nema govora o NLO-ima i nema mjesta za brigu.
Naime, proteklih dana planeti Jupiter i Venera su u konjunkciji, a to nama gledajući sa zemlje izgleda kao da se kreću jedno prema drugome, čini nam se da su potpuno blizu. No, istina je drugačija - udaljeni su više od nevjerojatnih 600 milijuna kilometara!
