Ako uzimate lijekove za snižavanje kolesterola, možda se nećete osjećati baš najbolje, barem u početku uzimanja terapije. Kao i svi lijekovi, tako i statini, koji se najčešće propisuju za snižavanje kolesterola, mogu uzrokovati nuspojave. Najčešće su problemi blagi, u mnogim slučajevima brzo nestaju, ali neke tegobe mogu biti ozbiljne. Razgovarajte sa svojim liječnikom ako se osjećate loše nakon uzimanja statina jer ima načina da si olakšate početak uzimanja terapije.

Dokazan pozitivni učinak statina je smanjenje rizika za srčani i moždani udar, do čega mogu dovesti povišene razine kolesterola. Statini rijetko uzrokuju teže nuspojave poput oštećenja mišića i jetre, infekcije mokraćnog sustava, povišenog šećera u krvi, gubitka pamćenja ili zbunjenosti, ali moguće je da se i to dogodi. Liječnik će naručiti krvnu pretragu kako bi se vidjelo stanje jetre i kakve posljedice eventualno lijek ostavlja na organizam. Problem na koji se najviše žale oni koji uzimaju statine su bolovi u mišićima.

KAKO SE NOSITI S NUSPOJAVAMA

Nemojte prestati uzimati lijekove za kolesterol čak i ako se zbog njih ne osjećate sjajno. Umjesto toga, razgovarajte sa svojim liječnikom. Postoji nekoliko načina da se osjećate bolje:

Napravite kratku pauzu - ako imate bolove u mišićima, liječnik vam može reći da nakratko prestanete uzimati lijek, a zatim ga ponovno počnete uzimati u roku od mjesec dana. Pauza u uzimanju lijeka može pokazati uzrokuje li bol lijek ili je nešto drugo uzrok problema. Ako je bol u mišićima izazvana statinima, olakšati si možete tako da izbjegavajte previše vježbanja jer to pogoršava bolove u mišićima. Izbjegavajte i uzimanje lijekova protiv bolova koji se prodaju bez recepta. Ovi lijekovi obično nisu učinkoviti u ublažavanju bolova u mišićima izazvanih statinima.

Provjerite ostale lijekove - ako uzimate lijekove za kolesterol i druge, vjerojatnije je da ćete imati nuspojave. Obavijestite svog liječnika o svemu što uzimate, uključujući lijekove na recept, one bez recepta i dodatke prehrani.

Niža doza - liječnik može pokušati smanjiti dozu lijeka. Možda ćete moći uzimati tabletu svaki drugi dan umjesto svakodnevno.

Zamjenski statin - ako su vaše nuspojave preteške, možda ćete moći isprobati drugačije statine za koje je manje vjerojatno da će uzrokovati bolove u mišićima.

Ako uzimate lijekove za snižavanje kolesterola, možda se nećete osjećati baš najbolje, barem u početku uzimanja terapije. Kao i svi lijekovi, tako i statini, koji se najčešće propisuju za snižavanje kolesterola, mogu uzrokovati nuspojave. Najčešće su problemi blagi, u mnogim slučajevima brzo nestaju, ali neke tegobe mogu biti ozbiljne. Razgovarajte sa svojim liječnikom ako se osjećate loše nakon uzimanja statina jer ima načina da si olakšate početak uzimanja terapije.

Dokazan pozitivni učinak statina je smanjenje rizika za srčani i moždani udar, do čega mogu dovesti povišene razine kolesterola. Statini rijetko uzrokuju teže nuspojave poput oštećenja mišića i jetre, infekcije mokraćnog sustava, povišenog šećera u krvi, gubitka pamćenja ili zbunjenosti, ali moguće je da se i to dogodi. Liječnik će naručiti krvnu pretragu kako bi se vidjelo stanje jetre i kakve posljedice eventualno lijek ostavlja na organizam. Problem na koji se najviše žale oni koji uzimaju statine su bolovi u mišićima.

KAKO SE NOSITI S NUSPOJAVAMA

Nemojte prestati uzimati lijekove za kolesterol čak i ako se zbog njih ne osjećate sjajno. Umjesto toga, razgovarajte sa svojim liječnikom. Postoji nekoliko načina da se osjećate bolje:

Napravite kratku pauzu - ako imate bolove u mišićima, liječnik vam može reći da nakratko prestanete uzimati lijek, a zatim ga ponovno počnete uzimati u roku od mjesec dana. Pauza u uzimanju lijeka može pokazati uzrokuje li bol lijek ili je nešto drugo uzrok problema. Ako je bol u mišićima izazvana statinima, olakšati si možete tako da izbjegavajte previše vježbanja jer to pogoršava bolove u mišićima. Provjerite ostale lijekove - ako uzimate lijekove za kolesterol i druge, vjerojatnije je da ćete imati nuspojave. Obavijestite svog liječnika o svemu što uzimate, uključujući lijekove na recept, one bez recepta i dodatke prehrani.

Niža doza - liječnik može pokušati smanjiti dozu lijeka. Možda ćete moći uzimati tabletu svaki drugi dan umjesto svakodnevno.

Zamjenski statin - ako su vaše nuspojave preteške, možda ćete moći isprobati drugačije statine za koje je manje vjerojatno da će uzrokovati bolove u mišićima.
