Studija provedena na 1,5 milijuna muškaraca pokazala je zabrinjavajuću povezanost između Peyronijeve bolesti (zakrivljenog penisa u erekciji) i razvoja karcinoma abdomena, kože i testisa, objavili su sudionici kongresa američke Udruge za reproduktivnu medicinu.
Peyronijevu bolest uzrokuje fibroza, odnosno formiranje viška vlaknastoga vezivnog tkiva unutar organa, što uzrokuje zakrivljenost penisa u erekciji.
Ovaj poremećaj pogađa oko 155.000 odraslih muškaraca u Velikoj Britaniji. Češći je kod starijih od 40 godina, no može pogoditi bilo koju dobnu skupinu. Zbog intimne prirode bolesti o njoj se malo govori jer mnogi muškarci osjećaju sram, pa bolest utječe na muškarčevo samopouzdanje i zdravlje, piše Independent.
Rezultate istraživanja čije je rezultate obradilo Sveučilište Baylor u Houstonu pokazalo je da je kod muškaraca s dijagnosticiranom Peyronijevom bolešću evidentiran 40 posto veći rizik od razvoja raka testisa, 29 posto veći rizik o razvoja melanoma i 40 posto veća opasnost od razvoja karcinoma abdomena.
S obzirom na zabrinjavajuće rezultate studije, pozvali su osobe s ovim oboljenjem na redovne kontrolne preglede kako bi se potencijalna maligna bolest na vrijeme otkrila.
"To je iznimno značajno jer muškarci o tome ne vode računa. Stanje može utjecati na spolni i reproduktivni životni ciklus pacijenata, a povezuje se i s ozbiljnijim poremećajima", rekao je dr. Alexander Pastuszak, dodavši da dosad nitko nije povezao ovaj poremećaj s malignim bolestima.
Glasnogovornik udruge Cancer Research UK je dodao da uzrok Peyronijeve bolesti nije u potpunosti razjašnjen, no zna se da na njezin razvoj utječe niz faktora.
Peyronijeva bolest obično nastaje kao rezultat ozljeda malih krvnih žila unutar penisa, primjerice za vrijeme spolnog odnosa, sportske aktivnosti ili kao posljedica nesreće. Tijekom procesa ozdravljenja, krvna zrnca i druge stanice zarobljene su na mjestu ozljede, što dovodi do nakupljanja ožiljnog tkiva.
No ne razvija se kod svakog muškarca spomenuta bolest nakon ozljede penisa. Liječnici vjeruju da postoje nasljedne osobine koje mogu igrati ulogu u osjetljivosti na taj poremećaj.

Studija provedena na 1,5 milijuna muškaraca pokazala je zabrinjavajuću povezanost između Peyronijeve bolesti (zakrivljenog penisa u erekciji) i razvoja karcinoma abdomena, kože i testisa, objavili su sudionici kongresa američke Udruge za reproduktivnu medicinu.
Peyronijevu bolest uzrokuje fibroza, odnosno formiranje viška vlaknastoga vezivnog tkiva unutar organa, što uzrokuje zakrivljenost penisa u erekciji.
Ovaj poremećaj pogađa oko 155.000 odraslih muškaraca u Velikoj Britaniji. Češći je kod starijih od 40 godina, no može pogoditi bilo koju dobnu skupinu. Zbog intimne prirode bolesti o njoj se malo govori jer mnogi muškarci osjećaju sram, pa bolest utječe na muškarčevo samopouzdanje i zdravlje, piše Independent.
Rezultate istraživanja čije je rezultate obradilo Sveučilište Baylor u Houstonu pokazalo je da je kod muškaraca s dijagnosticiranom Peyronijevom bolešću evidentiran 40 posto veći rizik od razvoja raka testisa, 29 posto veći rizik o razvoja melanoma i 40 posto veća opasnost od razvoja karcinoma abdomena.
S obzirom na zabrinjavajuće rezultate studije, pozvali su osobe s ovim oboljenjem na redovne kontrolne preglede kako bi se potencijalna maligna bolest na vrijeme otkrila.
"To je iznimno značajno jer muškarci o tome ne vode računa. Stanje može utjecati na spolni i reproduktivni životni ciklus pacijenata, a povezuje se i s ozbiljnijim poremećajima", rekao je dr. Alexander Pastuszak, dodavši da dosad nitko nije povezao ovaj poremećaj s malignim bolestima.
Glasnogovornik udruge Cancer Research UK je dodao da uzrok Peyronijeve bolesti nije u potpunosti razjašnjen, no zna se da na njezin razvoj utječe niz faktora.
Peyronijeva bolest obično nastaje kao rezultat ozljeda malih krvnih žila unutar penisa, primjerice za vrijeme spolnog odnosa, sportske aktivnosti ili kao posljedica nesreće. Tijekom procesa ozdravljenja, krvna zrnca i druge stanice zarobljene su na mjestu ozljede, što dovodi do nakupljanja ožiljnog tkiva.
No ne razvija se kod svakog muškarca spomenuta bolest nakon ozljede penisa. Liječnici vjeruju da postoje nasljedne osobine koje mogu igrati ulogu u osjetljivosti na taj poremećaj.
