Kultna Vespa slavi 75 godinu!
Unatoč zreloj dobi, kao da ide - sve mlađa; dizajnirana da podsjeća na igračku, zaobljenih linija i najčešće u pastelnim bojama, Vespa je ljubimica svih generacija, a već zarana se prometnula u kultni "motorin" na kojemu svatko izgleda - gospodski. Prisjetimo se geneze i slavne povijesti Vespe.
Njezin je "tata" Enrico Piaggio, proizvođač aviona. Nakon što je njegova tvornica aviona teško oštećena tijekom Drugog svjetskog rata, Piaggio je odlučio prenamijeniti pogon ili barem ono što je od njega ostalo, te namjesto teškog zrakoplovstva odlučio producirati vozila idealna za potrebe prosječnog Talijana poratnih, kasnih četrdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća. Takvo bi vozilo, rezonirao je Enrico Piaggio, trebalo biti lagano, moderno, cjenovno pristupačno i - na dva kotača. Tako bi, u najkaćem, glasio "rodni list" bebe Vespe.
Njezina je preteča bio motor nadimka Paperino, što u prijevodu znači "pačić". Naime 1944. godine Piaggijevi injženeri Renzo Spolti i Vittorio Casini dizajnirali su prototip rečenog motornog vozila, no Enrico Piaggio nije bio zadovoljan izgledom proizvoda. Slikovito rečeno, "tati" Enricu nije se svidio izgled Vespina starijeg brata. Zato je uposlio aeronautičkog inženjera Corradina D’Ascanija kojemu je dao zadatak redizaniranja motocikla.

On je, pak, motor smjestio pored stražnjeg kotača, a upravljanje volanom postavio na način koji eliminira lanac, a time i prljavštinu koja dolazi od ulja. Kada je prvi put ugledao prototip novog skutera, njegov deblji stražnji dio i uski srednji dio povezan s volanom koji je podsjećao na ticala, Enrico je uskliknuo: “Sembra una vespa!”, što u prijevodu znači: "Izgleda kao osa (vespa: tal. osa, nap.a.)". I tako se rodila prva "osica"...
Kada je Vespa prvi put predstavljena medijima, novinari su ostali začuđeni izgledom, a prvo javno prezentiranje imala je na Milanskom sajmu. Ispočetka prodaja nije bila bombastična; cjenovno ipak nije bila odveć pristupačna, bilo je vrijeme iza rata i cijela Europa još se financijski oporavljala. Uvođenjem obročnog plaćanja krivulja prodaje se popravila, a onda je stigao "bum": reklama direktno iz Hollywooda.
Naime, scena u filmskom klasiku "Praznik u Rimu", u kojoj Audrew Hepburn i Gregory Peck sjedaju na Vespu i voze se ulicama Rima doslovce je momentalno prouzročila potražnju za preko sto tisuća komada Vespi! Krivulja prodaje poletjela je u nebo...

Vespina popularnost ubrzo se proširila cijelom Europom, pa je tako u roku od 10 godina broj članstava u Vespa klubovima prešao brojku od 50 tisuća.
U gradu pod Marjanom Vespa klub Split okuplja malu ali "moćnu gomilicu": riječ je o šezdesetak fanova, pravih profiliranih "vespofila", a jedan takav srčani vespaš im je na čelu: ima 43 godine i zove se Frane Buković.
- Nema gospodskijeg motora od vespe, niti lipšeg dizajna od vespinoga - smatra Buković, koji se s "malom talijankom" obišao cijelu Europu.
Splitska ekipa formalnih članova kluba-zaljubljenika u vespe, ali i onih koji je samo voze i uživaju, zapravo je dio velike obitelji; još osamdesetih godina najmanje deset milijuna ljudi na cijelom svijetu vozilo je vespu. Danas ih je teško pobrojati...
Vespa, najpoznatija "kćer" iz obitelji Piaggio je tijekom godina nastavila usavršavati svoj dizajn i mehaniku. Od 1946. godine do danas proizvedeno je oko 140 modela. Zadnji model Vespe izrađen je 2016. godine u čast njezinog 70. rođendana.

Kultna Vespa slavi 75 godinu!
Unatoč zreloj dobi, kao da ide - sve mlađa; dizajnirana da podsjeća na igračku, zaobljenih linija i najčešće u pastelnim bojama, Vespa je ljubimica svih generacija, a već zarana se prometnula u kultni "motorin" na kojemu svatko izgleda - gospodski. Prisjetimo se geneze i slavne povijesti Vespe.
Njezin je "tata" Enrico Piaggio, proizvođač aviona. Nakon što je njegova tvornica aviona teško oštećena tijekom Drugog svjetskog rata, Piaggio je odlučio prenamijeniti pogon ili barem ono što je od njega ostalo, te namjesto teškog zrakoplovstva odlučio producirati vozila idealna za potrebe prosječnog Talijana poratnih, kasnih četrdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća. Takvo bi vozilo, rezonirao je Enrico Piaggio, trebalo biti lagano, moderno, cjenovno pristupačno i - na dva kotača. Tako bi, u najkaćem, glasio "rodni list" bebe Vespe.
Njezina je preteča bio motor nadimka Paperino, što u prijevodu znači "pačić". Naime 1944. godine Piaggijevi injženeri Renzo Spolti i Vittorio Casini dizajnirali su prototip rečenog motornog vozila, no Enrico Piaggio nije bio zadovoljan izgledom proizvoda. Slikovito rečeno, "tati" Enricu nije se svidio izgled Vespina starijeg brata. Zato je uposlio aeronautičkog inženjera Corradina D’Ascanija kojemu je dao zadatak redizaniranja motocikla.

On je, pak, motor smjestio pored stražnjeg kotača, a upravljanje volanom postavio na način koji eliminira lanac, a time i prljavštinu koja dolazi od ulja. Kada je prvi put ugledao prototip novog skutera, njegov deblji stražnji dio i uski srednji dio povezan s volanom koji je podsjećao na ticala, Enrico je uskliknuo: “Sembra una vespa!”, što u prijevodu znači: "Izgleda kao osa (vespa: tal. osa, nap.a.)". I tako se rodila prva "osica"...
Kada je Vespa prvi put predstavljena medijima, novinari su ostali začuđeni izgledom, a prvo javno prezentiranje imala je na Milanskom sajmu. Ispočetka prodaja nije bila bombastična; cjenovno ipak nije bila odveć pristupačna, bilo je vrijeme iza rata i cijela Europa još se financijski oporavljala. Uvođenjem obročnog plaćanja krivulja prodaje se popravila, a onda je stigao "bum": reklama direktno iz Hollywooda.
Naime, scena u filmskom klasiku "Praznik u Rimu", u kojoj Audrew Hepburn i Gregory Peck sjedaju na Vespu i voze se ulicama Rima doslovce je momentalno prouzročila potražnju za preko sto tisuća komada Vespi! Krivulja prodaje poletjela je u nebo...

Vespina popularnost ubrzo se proširila cijelom Europom, pa je tako u roku od 10 godina broj članstava u Vespa klubovima prešao brojku od 50 tisuća.
U gradu pod Marjanom Vespa klub Split okuplja malu ali "moćnu gomilicu": riječ je o šezdesetak fanova, pravih profiliranih "vespofila", a jedan takav srčani vespaš im je na čelu: ima 43 godine i zove se Frane Buković.
- Nema gospodskijeg motora od vespe, niti lipšeg dizajna od vespinoga - smatra Buković, koji se s "malom talijankom" obišao cijelu Europu.
Splitska ekipa formalnih članova kluba-zaljubljenika u vespe, ali i onih koji je samo voze i uživaju, zapravo je dio velike obitelji; još osamdesetih godina najmanje deset milijuna ljudi na cijelom svijetu vozilo je vespu. Danas ih je teško pobrojati...
Vespa, najpoznatija "kćer" iz obitelji Piaggio je tijekom godina nastavila usavršavati svoj dizajn i mehaniku. Od 1946. godine do danas proizvedeno je oko 140 modela. Zadnji model Vespe izrađen je 2016. godine u čast njezinog 70. rođendana.
