Iako većinom ozlijeđenim životinjama žele dobro, ljudi često pogoršaju situaciju. Ako se nasukanog dupina ili ozlijeđenu kornjaču ostavi na miru, stručnjaci imaju veće šanse da ih spase.
U slučaju nailaska na nasukanog dupina ili drugu morsku životinju, važno je držati se podalje i zvati stručnjake, rekao je Hini Guido Pietroluongo, član Tima za hitne intervencije pri nasukavanju kitova (CERT) Sveučilišta iz Padove.
„Ako ne znate što bi trebalo učiniti, nemojte pokušavati biti heroji društvenih mreža. Ljudi žele dobro, ali često pogoršaju situaciju“, dodaje doktor veterine koji se bavi morskim sisavcima.
Ako je ozlijeđena ili nasukana životinju pod dodatnim stresom zbog mnogo ljudi i buke oko nje, šanse za preživljavanje znatno su manje.
Treba imati na umu da se ne radi o ljubimcu, koliko god dupini ili kornjače izgledali simpatično. Ipak se radi o biću iz divljine koje može ozlijediti i zato ga ne treba dirati.
„Pronađete li lava u savani, hoćete li ga dirati? Ne. Isto treba postupati i s morskim životinjama“, ističe.
Dodirom im ljudi također mogu prenijeti bolesti, što je posebno opasno u vrijeme trajanja epidemija, kaže Pietroluongo.
Pokazna vježba
U sklopu Tjedna očuvanja biološke raznolikosti Jadrana, lošinjski Institut Plavi svijet brojnim aktivnostima informirao je javnost o potrebi očuvanja morskih ekosustava.
U sklopu edukacije, na plaži Veli žal u Malom Lošinju održane su ovaj tjedan pokazne vježbe spašavanja nasukanih, ozlijeđenih ili u ribarske alate zapletenih dupina i kornjača. Obuku su održali članovi talijanskog CERT-a.
CERT s Plavim svijetom surađuje na projektu Europske unije LIFE Delfi kojemu je cilj zaustaviti interakciju ribara i delfina kako bi od toga korist imali i ribari i i delfini, koji se znaju zapetljati u mreže.
Iako surađuju s raznim institucijama i građanima, najkorisnija je suradnja s ribarima jer oni imaju direktan i čest kontakt s ugroženim morskim životinjama.
Oni su “njihove oči“, željni su pomoći i suradnja je izvrsna, navodi Pietroluongo.
Nasukani kitovi, zalutali dupini...
U Italiji se godišnje dogodi između 200 i 300 nasukavanja što je prirodna pojava jer životinje, poput ljudi, ugibaju od bolesti i starosti.
„Ponekad nas zabrinjava porast broja slučajeva kao posljedica bolesti - izbijaju epidemije, kao i kod ljudske populacije. Međutim, životinjama ne možemo pomoći jer ih se ne može cijepiti“, pojašnjava.
No može se raditi na manjem utjecaju čovjeka i tome se najviše posvećuju, dodaje.
Lani se pokraj Napulja nasukao kit dug gotovo 20 metara, što je bio najveći primjerak nasukan u Sredozemnom moru.
Pietroluongo napominje da se u slučaju nailaska na uginulu životinju također treba držati podalje i zvati stručnjake.
Važno je, kaže, navesti lokaciju, dostaviti fotografije i općenito pružiti što više informacija kako bi se tim mogao u što kraćem vremenu maksimalno dobro pripremiti i optimalno odgovoriti na događaj.
Talijanski stručnjak se također prisjetio spašavanja dva prugasta dupina koja su u vrijeme pandemije, kada je Venecija mirovala, zalutala u kanale poznatog turističkog središta.
Najbrojnije su kornjače
U takvim slučajevima građani mogu biti od velike pomoći dojavama i ispravnom reakcijom.
„Svi smo dio rješenja u očuvanju tih divnih stvorenja za buduće generacije“, naglašava.
"Međusobno optuživanje ne vodi nikamo", smatra. Potrebno je stvoriti snažniju vezu između znanosti, građana i ostalih sudionika.
Ribar koji u mreži nađe dupina ili drugu ugroženu vrstu ne treba osjećati krivnju jer je to nešto što se uobičajeno događa, kaže.
„Znanstvenici ne rade svoj posao radi slave, ribari nisu loši jer ne prijavljuju životinje zapletene u mreže ili slučajni ulov. Zajedničkim snagama moramo djelovati u istom smjeru, tražiti rješenja i slati pozitivne poruke“, poručuje Pietroluongo.
U Italiji građani incidente dojavljuju na besplatni broj obalne straže koja zatim obavještava tim CERT-a te oni odmah reagiraju. Ponekad očevici ne znaju koga nazvati pa za spašavanje bude prekasno. Zato treba ljude informirati i osvještavati, napominje.
„Tu odličan posao odrađuje institut Plavi svijet iz Velog Lošinja koji već desetljećima radi edukacijske kampanje i informira javnost“, dodaje.
Kao i lošinjski Institut, tako i CERT najviše poziva dobija vezano za kornjače jer su one u Mediteranu ipak daleko brojnije.
Otpad
Pietroluongo opisuje da tim u svome radu često proživljava “tornado emocija“.
Ovog mjeseca su, primjerice, našli uginulu trudnu ženku dobrog dupina što ih je osobito pogodilo.
U probavnom sustavu mrtvih životinja, osim toga, nalaze stvari koje ljudi koriste u svakodnevnom životu.
„Deprimirajuće je razmišljati o glavatoj uljarki koja pliva jako duboko, čak do tri kilometara dubine, koja je ogromna i snažna životinja, ali joj u želucu nađemo ljudske potrepštine“, govori.
Gotovo svo smeće s kopna na kraju završi u moru, to ljudi trebaju znati, naglašava.
U većini slučajeva prisutnost otpada u želucima životinja nije uzrok smrti, ali pridonosi lošem stanju, kaže Pietroluongo.

Iako većinom ozlijeđenim životinjama žele dobro, ljudi često pogoršaju situaciju. Ako se nasukanog dupina ili ozlijeđenu kornjaču ostavi na miru, stručnjaci imaju veće šanse da ih spase.
U slučaju nailaska na nasukanog dupina ili drugu morsku životinju, važno je držati se podalje i zvati stručnjake, rekao je Hini Guido Pietroluongo, član Tima za hitne intervencije pri nasukavanju kitova (CERT) Sveučilišta iz Padove.
„Ako ne znate što bi trebalo učiniti, nemojte pokušavati biti heroji društvenih mreža. Ljudi žele dobro, ali često pogoršaju situaciju“, dodaje doktor veterine koji se bavi morskim sisavcima.
Ako je ozlijeđena ili nasukana životinju pod dodatnim stresom zbog mnogo ljudi i buke oko nje, šanse za preživljavanje znatno su manje.
Treba imati na umu da se ne radi o ljubimcu, koliko god dupini ili kornjače izgledali simpatično. Ipak se radi o biću iz divljine koje može ozlijediti i zato ga ne treba dirati.
„Pronađete li lava u savani, hoćete li ga dirati? Ne. Isto treba postupati i s morskim životinjama“, ističe.
Dodirom im ljudi također mogu prenijeti bolesti, što je posebno opasno u vrijeme trajanja epidemija, kaže Pietroluongo.
Pokazna vježba
U sklopu Tjedna očuvanja biološke raznolikosti Jadrana, lošinjski Institut Plavi svijet brojnim aktivnostima informirao je javnost o potrebi očuvanja morskih ekosustava.
U sklopu edukacije, na plaži Veli žal u Malom Lošinju održane su ovaj tjedan pokazne vježbe spašavanja nasukanih, ozlijeđenih ili u ribarske alate zapletenih dupina i kornjača. Obuku su održali članovi talijanskog CERT-a.
CERT s Plavim svijetom surađuje na projektu Europske unije LIFE Delfi kojemu je cilj zaustaviti interakciju ribara i delfina kako bi od toga korist imali i ribari i i delfini, koji se znaju zapetljati u mreže.
Iako surađuju s raznim institucijama i građanima, najkorisnija je suradnja s ribarima jer oni imaju direktan i čest kontakt s ugroženim morskim životinjama.
Oni su “njihove oči“, željni su pomoći i suradnja je izvrsna, navodi Pietroluongo.
Nasukani kitovi, zalutali dupini...
U Italiji se godišnje dogodi između 200 i 300 nasukavanja što je prirodna pojava jer životinje, poput ljudi, ugibaju od bolesti i starosti.
„Ponekad nas zabrinjava porast broja slučajeva kao posljedica bolesti - izbijaju epidemije, kao i kod ljudske populacije. Međutim, životinjama ne možemo pomoći jer ih se ne može cijepiti“, pojašnjava.
No može se raditi na manjem utjecaju čovjeka i tome se najviše posvećuju, dodaje.
Lani se pokraj Napulja nasukao kit dug gotovo 20 metara, što je bio najveći primjerak nasukan u Sredozemnom moru.
Pietroluongo napominje da se u slučaju nailaska na uginulu životinju također treba držati podalje i zvati stručnjake.
Važno je, kaže, navesti lokaciju, dostaviti fotografije i općenito pružiti što više informacija kako bi se tim mogao u što kraćem vremenu maksimalno dobro pripremiti i optimalno odgovoriti na događaj.
Talijanski stručnjak se također prisjetio spašavanja dva prugasta dupina koja su u vrijeme pandemije, kada je Venecija mirovala, zalutala u kanale poznatog turističkog središta.
Najbrojnije su kornjače
U takvim slučajevima građani mogu biti od velike pomoći dojavama i ispravnom reakcijom.
„Svi smo dio rješenja u očuvanju tih divnih stvorenja za buduće generacije“, naglašava.
"Međusobno optuživanje ne vodi nikamo", smatra. Potrebno je stvoriti snažniju vezu između znanosti, građana i ostalih sudionika.
Ribar koji u mreži nađe dupina ili drugu ugroženu vrstu ne treba osjećati krivnju jer je to nešto što se uobičajeno događa, kaže.
„Znanstvenici ne rade svoj posao radi slave, ribari nisu loši jer ne prijavljuju životinje zapletene u mreže ili slučajni ulov. Zajedničkim snagama moramo djelovati u istom smjeru, tražiti rješenja i slati pozitivne poruke“, poručuje Pietroluongo.
U Italiji građani incidente dojavljuju na besplatni broj obalne straže koja zatim obavještava tim CERT-a te oni odmah reagiraju. Ponekad očevici ne znaju koga nazvati pa za spašavanje bude prekasno. Zato treba ljude informirati i osvještavati, napominje.
„Tu odličan posao odrađuje institut Plavi svijet iz Velog Lošinja koji već desetljećima radi edukacijske kampanje i informira javnost“, dodaje.
Kao i lošinjski Institut, tako i CERT najviše poziva dobija vezano za kornjače jer su one u Mediteranu ipak daleko brojnije.
Otpad
Pietroluongo opisuje da tim u svome radu često proživljava “tornado emocija“.
Ovog mjeseca su, primjerice, našli uginulu trudnu ženku dobrog dupina što ih je osobito pogodilo.
U probavnom sustavu mrtvih životinja, osim toga, nalaze stvari koje ljudi koriste u svakodnevnom životu.
„Deprimirajuće je razmišljati o glavatoj uljarki koja pliva jako duboko, čak do tri kilometara dubine, koja je ogromna i snažna životinja, ali joj u želucu nađemo ljudske potrepštine“, govori.
Gotovo svo smeće s kopna na kraju završi u moru, to ljudi trebaju znati, naglašava.
U većini slučajeva prisutnost otpada u želucima životinja nije uzrok smrti, ali pridonosi lošem stanju, kaže Pietroluongo.
