       U galeriji "Arsenal" u Hvaru svečano je otvorena izložba "Potemkinov gost" hvarskog akademskog umjetnika Johna Miličića u suradnji s koautoricom projekta, povjesničarkom umjetnosti Jelenom Mićić.

       Projekt "Potemkinov gost" istražuje turističko iskustvo posjetitelja načinjenih od tkanine, spužve i papira koji dolaze na godišnji odmor neopterećeni novonastalom situacijom i svjetskim problemima. Rekreirajući popularne turističke aktivnosti u gradu Hvaru u kojima uživaju ovakvi "turisti", turizam je promatran kroz scenske prikaze u slikarstvu.

Projekt se bavi i problemom stihijskog i nekontroliranog razvoja turizma te postavlja pitanje je li nam se što promijenilo ove pandemijske 2020. godine.

       Na dan otvaranja izložbe, stepenice najstarijega komunalnog kazališta u Europi, koje ujedno vode i do galerije "Arsenal", simbolično su bile prepriječene cvijećem simulirajući gužvu i mimoilaženje stanovništva s posjetiteljima, a otvaranju su se priključili i članovi Dramskog studija mladih Hvar koji su jednostavnim, ali efektnim performansom pokušali ometati posjetitelje u razgledanju, tematizirajući time uzurpaciju i oduzimanje prostora.

       Izložbu su otvorili Rikardo Novak, gradonačelnik Hvara, i Katija Vučetić, pročelnica Odsjeka za kulturu i odnose s javnošću, te sam umjetnik, uz prisutnost mnogobrojnih posjetitelja. Izloženi radovi mogu se razgledati svakim danom do nedjelje, čak i u pratnji autora samo u večernjim satima.

       U galeriji "Arsenal" u Hvaru svečano je otvorena izložba "Potemkinov gost" hvarskog akademskog umjetnika Johna Miličića u suradnji s koautoricom projekta, povjesničarkom umjetnosti Jelenom Mićić.

       Projekt "Potemkinov gost" istražuje turističko iskustvo posjetitelja načinjenih od tkanine, spužve i papira koji dolaze na godišnji odmor neopterećeni novonastalom situacijom i svjetskim problemima. Rekreirajući popularne turističke aktivnosti u gradu Hvaru u kojima uživaju ovakvi "turisti", turizam je promatran kroz scenske prikaze u slikarstvu.

Projekt se bavi i problemom stihijskog i nekontroliranog razvoja turizma te postavlja pitanje je li nam se što promijenilo ove pandemijske 2020. godine.

       Na dan otvaranja izložbe, stepenice najstarijega komunalnog kazališta u Europi, koje ujedno vode i do galerije "Arsenal", simbolično su bile prepriječene cvijećem simulirajući gužvu i mimoilaženje stanovništva s posjetiteljima, a otvaranju su se priključili i članovi Dramskog studija mladih Hvar koji su jednostavnim, ali efektnim performansom pokušali ometati posjetitelje u razgledanju, tematizirajući time uzurpaciju i oduzimanje prostora.

       Izložbu su otvorili Rikardo Novak, gradonačelnik Hvara, i Katija Vučetić, pročelnica Odsjeka za kulturu i odnose s javnošću, te sam umjetnik, uz prisutnost mnogobrojnih posjetitelja. Izloženi radovi mogu se razgledati svakim danom do nedjelje, čak i u pratnji autora samo u večernjim satima.
