Pod Akademijinim povećalom našla se nominacija za britansku glumicu Andreu Riseborough u kategoriji glavne ženske uloge za američku nezavisnu dramu “Za Leslie” (“To Leslie”) i bila naknadno dovedena u pitanje na ovogodišnjim Oscarima.

Marketinška kampanja filma “Za Leslie” nije bila standardna i odvijala se na društvenim mrežama, gdje je Riseborough dobila veliku “last minute” podršku kolega i kolegica kao što su Edward Norton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Kim Basinger, Demi Moore, Amy Adams...

Navodno se na društvenim mrežama poticalo članove Akademije da Riseborough bude nominirana nauštrb drugih glumica, poput oskarovke Viole Davis (“Žena kralj”), koja će “ionako biti nominirana”, što se na koncu nije dogodilo.

Ipak, nakon istrage pod sumnjom u nepristrano provođenje kampanje, tj. lobiranje i omalovažavanje, Akademija je ustvrdila da ništa od toga nije bilo na tolikoj razini da bi se nominacija poništila.

Tako Riseborough na svoju sreću i sreću njezinih fanova ostaje u utrci za zlatni kipić zajedno s Cate Blanchett (“Tar”), Michelle Yeoh (“Sve u isto vrijeme”), Anom De Armas (“Plavuša”) i Michelle Williams (“Fabelmanovi”). Britansku glumicu opazili smo u filmu “Samo bez brige” Mikea Leigha, a istinski zapazili početkom 2010-ih u “Čovjeku iz sjene” i “Romansi stoljeća”, gdje je iskazala veliki potencijal.

Nastavila je Risebourugh imati angažmane u više ili manje zvučnim filmovima kao što su “Zaborav”, “Dobrodošli u zamku”, “Birdman”, “Noćne životinje”, “Rat spolova”, “Smrt Staljina”, “Mandy”, “Kletva”, “Demoni”, “Amsterdam”... i seriji “NulaNulaNula”, ali stjecao se dojam da potencijal nije do kraja ispunila i da u tom smislu kreće tragom približne vršnjakinje, jednako talentirane Abbie Cornish.

Utoliko je nominacija za Oscara uletjela glumici u pravo vrijeme, a i “Za Leslie” je pravovremeno doživio premijeru u hrvatskim “online” videotekama da se domaći gledatelji mogu uvjeriti u zasluženost iste. “Za Leslie” redatelja Michaela Morrisa i scenarista Ryana Binaca jedan je od onih filmova u cijelosti osovljenih oko oskarovske glavne ženske uloge, superiornije od samog filma (npr. “Čudovište” s Charlize Theron i “Oči Tammy Faye” s Jessicom Chastain).

Riseborough će, u konkurenciji s favoriziranom Blanchett i Yeoh, teško dobiti Oscara kao Theron i Chastain, ali “To Leslie” vrijedi vidjeti upravo zbog nje. Britanska glumica je izvrsna, većinski suptilna i rijetko oskarovski “napadna” u ulozi Leslie, teksaške samohrane majke koja je osvojila gotovo 200.000 dolara na lotu da bi, spletom loših odluka, spiskala novac na piće, postala alkoholičarka i p(r)otratila život.

Titularni ženski lik upoznajemo u trenutku dobitka na lutriji koji “promijeni život”. Šest godina kasnije, Lesliein život se promijenio, ali nagore i film se ne libi sirove “poverty porn” degradacije i prikaza dodirivanja samog dna. Ona je utonula u pijanstvo i friško izbačena iz motela u kojem je životarila.

Pijanica i beskućnica, Leslie jednog dana bane na vrata 19-godišnjeg sina Jamesa (Owen Teague), kojeg je napustila, da provede neko vrijeme s njim, nadajući se da će joj on donijeti sreću kao kad je igrala loto s brojevima njegova rođendana. “Dušo, više ne pijem”, uvjerava ona sina, iako je propila sav lutrijski novac, no samo će ga uvući u probleme s kulminacijom u tučnjavi sa susjedom.

Morris u svom filmskom prvijencu (režirao serije poput “House Of Cards”, “Locke&Key”, “Better Call Saul”, “For All Mankind”) dojmljivo postavlja scenu držeći Leslie u prvom planu, a tučnjavu u hodniku u pozadini kadra. Njezino lice nijemo govori tisuću riječi i ispisuje cijeli film, dramu o dobitku i gubitku na lutriji života nalik “country” pjesmi Waylona Jenningsa koji se nalazi na soundtracku i krasi ponajbolju scenu.

Kad pripita Leslie zapleše u baru, Morris prelama sve životne promašaje lutrijske dobitnice bez dobitka, svu njezinu tugu i razočaranja, ali i potrebu za iskupljenjem i ponovnim življenjem, pronalazeći zraku neke nove nade na dalekom teksaškom horizontu.

Oskarovka u sporednoj ulozi
U sporednoj ulozi Lesliene bivše prijateljice gledamo oskarovku Allison Janney, a Sweeneyja, dobrodušnog čovjeka koji je protagonistici dao posao sobarice, glumi Marc Maron.

Pod Akademijinim povećalom našla se nominacija za britansku glumicu Andreu Riseborough u kategoriji glavne ženske uloge za američku nezavisnu dramu “Za Leslie” (“To Leslie”) i bila naknadno dovedena u pitanje na ovogodišnjim Oscarima.

Marketinška kampanja filma “Za Leslie” nije bila standardna i odvijala se na društvenim mrežama, gdje je Riseborough dobila veliku “last minute” podršku kolega i kolegica kao što su Edward Norton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Kim Basinger, Demi Moore, Amy Adams...

Navodno se na društvenim mrežama poticalo članove Akademije da Riseborough bude nominirana nauštrb drugih glumica, poput oskarovke Viole Davis (“Žena kralj”), koja će “ionako biti nominirana”, što se na koncu nije dogodilo.

Ipak, nakon istrage pod sumnjom u nepristrano provođenje kampanje, tj. lobiranje i omalovažavanje, Akademija je ustvrdila da ništa od toga nije bilo na tolikoj razini da bi se nominacija poništila.

Tako Riseborough na svoju sreću i sreću njezinih fanova ostaje u utrci za zlatni kipić zajedno s Cate Blanchett (“Tar”), Michelle Yeoh (“Sve u isto vrijeme”), Anom De Armas (“Plavuša”) i Michelle Williams (“Fabelmanovi”). Britansku glumicu opazili smo u filmu “Samo bez brige” Mikea Leigha, a istinski zapazili početkom 2010-ih u “Čovjeku iz sjene” i “Romansi stoljeća”, gdje je iskazala veliki potencijal.

Nastavila je Risebourugh imati angažmane u više ili manje zvučnim filmovima kao što su “Zaborav”, “Dobrodošli u zamku”, “Birdman”, “Noćne životinje”, “Rat spolova”, “Smrt Staljina”, “Mandy”, “Kletva”, “Demoni”, “Amsterdam”... i seriji “NulaNulaNula”, ali stjecao se dojam da potencijal nije do kraja ispunila i da u tom smislu kreće tragom približne vršnjakinje, jednako talentirane Abbie Cornish.

Utoliko je nominacija za Oscara uletjela glumici u pravo vrijeme, a i “Za Leslie” je pravovremeno doživio premijeru u hrvatskim “online” videotekama da se domaći gledatelji mogu uvjeriti u zasluženost iste. “Za Leslie” redatelja Michaela Morrisa i scenarista Ryana Binaca jedan je od onih filmova u cijelosti osovljenih oko oskarovske glavne ženske uloge, superiornije od samog filma (npr. “Čudovište” s Charlize Theron i “Oči Tammy Faye” s Jessicom Chastain).

Riseborough će, u konkurenciji s favoriziranom Blanchett i Yeoh, teško dobiti Oscara kao Theron i Chastain, ali “To Leslie” vrijedi vidjeti upravo zbog nje. Britanska glumica je izvrsna, većinski suptilna i rijetko oskarovski “napadna” u ulozi Leslie, teksaške samohrane majke koja je osvojila gotovo 200.000 dolara na lotu da bi, spletom loših odluka, spiskala novac na piće, postala alkoholičarka i p(r)otratila život.

Titularni ženski lik upoznajemo u trenutku dobitka na lutriji koji “promijeni život”. Šest godina kasnije, Lesliein život se promijenio, ali nagore i film se ne libi sirove “poverty porn” degradacije i prikaza dodirivanja samog dna. Ona je utonula u pijanstvo i friško izbačena iz motela u kojem je životarila.

Pijanica i beskućnica, Leslie jednog dana bane na vrata 19-godišnjeg sina Jamesa (Owen Teague), kojeg je napustila, da provede neko vrijeme s njim, nadajući se da će joj on donijeti sreću kao kad je igrala loto s brojevima njegova rođendana. “Dušo, više ne pijem”, uvjerava ona sina, iako je propila sav lutrijski novac, no samo će ga uvući u probleme s kulminacijom u tučnjavi sa susjedom.

Morris u svom filmskom prvijencu (režirao serije poput “House Of Cards”, “Locke&Key”, “Better Call Saul”, “For All Mankind”) dojmljivo postavlja scenu držeći Leslie u prvom planu, a tučnjavu u hodniku u pozadini kadra. Njezino lice nijemo govori tisuću riječi i ispisuje cijeli film, dramu o dobitku i gubitku na lutriji života nalik “country” pjesmi Waylona Jenningsa koji se nalazi na soundtracku i krasi ponajbolju scenu.

Kad pripita Leslie zapleše u baru, Morris prelama sve životne promašaje lutrijske dobitnice bez dobitka, svu njezinu tugu i razočaranja, ali i potrebu za iskupljenjem i ponovnim življenjem, pronalazeći zraku neke nove nade na dalekom teksaškom horizontu.

U sporednoj ulozi Lesliene bivše prijateljice gledamo oskarovku Allison Janney, a Sweeneyja, dobrodušnog čovjeka koji je protagonistici dao posao sobarice, glumi Marc Maron.
