Profesorica filmske umjetnosti (Samara Weaving) sjedi za šankom u newyorškom “fancy” baru i čeka nekoga. Na mobitel joj stiže poruka “Mogu li nazvati?”. Kad preuzme poziv, doznat ćemo da se treba naći sa studentom (on je i zove, izgubio se po putu) i da je držala predavanje o slasherskim hororima 20. stoljeća.

“Koji ti je najdraži film strave?” uslijedi pitanje kakvo je metafilmski “Vrisak” 1996. učinio antologijskim unutar slasher horora i šire. “Nije taj”, odgovara profesorica filma ciljajući na “Scream”. Ona će spominjati klišeje u kontekstu slashera, ali svejedno će izići vani i ući u susjednu uličicu ne bi li pomogla studentu da pronađe bar.

Ispostavlja se da je student s druge strane linije mobitela Ghostface i da ju je namamio u zamku. Nesretna profesorica umire iznimno bolnom smrću, a Ghostface skida masku i otkriva svoje lice. Uvod “Vriska VI” (“Scream VI”) nije tipičan za pojmove autoironičnog hororskog serijala koji su od Wesa Cravena preuzeli Matt Bettinelli-Olpin i Tyler Gillett.

Obično se na kraju svakog filma razotkriva Ghostface, serijski ubojica podjednako oštrog noža (krvavi horor) i jezika (morbidni, žanrovski autoreferencijalni humor), poznat po tome da voli filmove strave i da utjeruje strah u kosti likova kad ih nazove na telefon ili mobitel s pretvaračem glasa. No, to nije sve.

Ghostfacea ubrzo potom naziva, posjećuje i ubija drugi, “pravi” Ghostface kojeg ovaj poznaje s faksa i zajedno su planirali snimiti film i ubiti sestre Carpenter, Samanthu i Taru (Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega), preživjele junakinje petog “Screama”. Ubojica ubojice? Sve je moguće.

Novi Ghostface drukčiji je od prethodnika. “Moramo dovršiti film”, kumi “ghostfaceovski” student kad ga “pravi” Ghostface napadne. “Koga boli k... za filmove?” sasiječe ga Ghostface. Dosad je uglavnom svaki Ghostface bio filmomanijak, a ovaj je, čini se, samo manijak.

Također, dosad je Ghostface ubijao nožem, ali u “Vrisku VI” uzet će i pumpericu u ruke u jednoj sekvenciji, hororskoj verziji klasičnih akcijskih scena u supermarketu (“Kobra”, “RoboCop”, “Plavi čelik”, “Otporan na smrt”, “Hladan kao kamen”). Da je “Scream VI” malko drukčiji od prethodnika, sugerira i ambijentiranje radnje u New York iz fiktivnoga gradića Woodsboroa, kao i izostanak centralnog lika serijala Sidney Prescott u tumačenju Neve Campbell.

Sidney fali u šestom “Vrisku”, jednako kao što u “Creedu III” fali Stalloneov Rocky, ali film uspijeva zamaskirati njezinu odsutnost s nekoliko uzbudljivih scena, među ostalim i prvim pozivom Ghostfacea upućenim novinarki Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox; jedina iz temeljnog castinga serijala), odnosno pokušajem razbijanja pravila franšize.

“Nitko više ne snima obične nastavke, mi smo u franšizi, a one opstaju ako obrnu pravila”, govori filmofilka Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown), Mindy ističe da nitko više nije siguran, ni ona, njezin brat Chad (Mason Gooding) i sestre Carpenter iz “petice”, pa ni povratnica Gale i Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere), akterica filma “Scream 4”, te novi likovi Anika, Josh, Ethan i Quinn (Devyn Nekoda, Danny Brackett, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato).

“Vrisak VI” ide nožem na franšizu, minimalizira nostalgiju prijašnjeg filma i u odnosu na njega pokušava biti nešto kao “Vrisak 2” i “Vrisak 3” spram originala, potencirati prethodnika kao svaki nastavak, u ovom slučaju eskalirati krv i nasilje, povećati broj leševa, pridržavati se jednih pravila i, još više, kršiti druga ili ih nanovo napisati.

Na koncu, ovo nije “običan nastavak”, nego nastavak tzv. requela, filma koji je istovremeno i “remake/reboot” i “sequel”. Međutim, “Scream VI” znade se pogubiti u prevelikom htijenju, ali i broju likova. Novi likovi nisu toliko interesantni, izuzev sestara Carpenter, napose Samanthe, koja se hrva s ubojitim nasljeđem oca, Billyja Loomisa (Skeet Ulrich), jednog od dva Ghostfacea iz prvog “Vriska”.

S druge strane, neki stari likovi vraćeni su “pro forma”, kao Kirby koja, sada u ulozi agentice FBI-ja, izgleda poput protagonistice neke krimi serije ili je Panettiere tako glumi, iako je možda i u tome kvaka budući da se “Vrisak VI” sprda i s popularnošću televizije (Gale nije prodala prava na film jer “svi žele limitirane serije o istinitim zločinima”).

Neke dobre ideje samo su natuknute u scenariju Guya Busicka i Jamesa Vanderbilta (kino serijskog ubojice kao svetište franšize), a otkriće tko se ovaj put krije iza maske Ghostfacea pomalo je razočaravajuće, premda smisleno u okviru ovog i prethodnog filma.

Ipak, kad je riječ o napetim scenama, “Scream VI” ne zaostaje za prethodnicima, naprotiv, Bettinelli-Olpin i Gillett orkestrirali su neke od najnapetijih sekvencija serijala. Ističe se scena grčevita bijega kroz prozor preko ljestava do stana u suprotnoj zgradi i gledatelj grize nokte dok prati tko će se uspjeti prebaciti na drugu stranu.

Veoma je tenzična scena okršaja Ghostfacea i Gale jer strahujemo od toga hoće li i ona stradati kao Dewey u prijašnjem filmu. Vjerojatno najbolja scena “Vriska VI” odvija se tijekom Noći vještica u podzemnoj krcatoj putnicima s prigodnim maskama horor ikona (Michael Myers, Pinhead, Freddy Kruger, Pennywise...), uključujući i nekoliko Ghostfacea. Jedan od njih sigurno je “pravi” Ghostface, samo je pitanje koji i tko će se naći s druge strane njegove oštrice.

Najavljena i ‘sedmica‘

Režiserski dvojac najavljuje i sedmi dio, a planira snimiti i nastavak futurističkog akcijskog klasika "Bijeg iz New Yorka" u kojem bi angažirali starog dobrog Kurta Russella.

Profesorica filmske umjetnosti (Samara Weaving) sjedi za šankom u newyorškom “fancy” baru i čeka nekoga. Na mobitel joj stiže poruka “Mogu li nazvati?”. Kad preuzme poziv, doznat ćemo da se treba naći sa studentom (on je i zove, izgubio se po putu) i da je držala predavanje o slasherskim hororima 20. stoljeća.

“Koji ti je najdraži film strave?” uslijedi pitanje kakvo je metafilmski “Vrisak” 1996. učinio antologijskim unutar slasher horora i šire. “Nije taj”, odgovara profesorica filma ciljajući na “Scream”. Ona će spominjati klišeje u kontekstu slashera, ali svejedno će izići vani i ući u susjednu uličicu ne bi li pomogla studentu da pronađe bar.

Ispostavlja se da je student s druge strane linije mobitela Ghostface i da ju je namamio u zamku. Nesretna profesorica umire iznimno bolnom smrću, a Ghostface skida masku i otkriva svoje lice. Uvod “Vriska VI” (“Scream VI”) nije tipičan za pojmove autoironičnog hororskog serijala koji su od Wesa Cravena preuzeli Matt Bettinelli-Olpin i Tyler Gillett.

Obično se na kraju svakog filma razotkriva Ghostface, serijski ubojica podjednako oštrog noža (krvavi horor) i jezika (morbidni, žanrovski autoreferencijalni humor), poznat po tome da voli filmove strave i da utjeruje strah u kosti likova kad ih nazove na telefon ili mobitel s pretvaračem glasa. No, to nije sve.

Ghostfacea ubrzo potom naziva, posjećuje i ubija drugi, “pravi” Ghostface kojeg ovaj poznaje s faksa i zajedno su planirali snimiti film i ubiti sestre Carpenter, Samanthu i Taru (Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega), preživjele junakinje petog “Screama”. Ubojica ubojice? Sve je moguće.

Novi Ghostface drukčiji je od prethodnika. “Moramo dovršiti film”, kumi “ghostfaceovski” student kad ga “pravi” Ghostface napadne. “Koga boli k... za filmove?” sasiječe ga Ghostface. Dosad je uglavnom svaki Ghostface bio filmomanijak, a ovaj je, čini se, samo manijak.

Također, dosad je Ghostface ubijao nožem, ali u “Vrisku VI” uzet će i pumpericu u ruke u jednoj sekvenciji, hororskoj verziji klasičnih akcijskih scena u supermarketu (“Kobra”, “RoboCop”, “Plavi čelik”, “Otporan na smrt”, “Hladan kao kamen”). Da je “Scream VI” malko drukčiji od prethodnika, sugerira i ambijentiranje radnje u New York iz fiktivnoga gradića Woodsboroa, kao i izostanak centralnog lika serijala Sidney Prescott u tumačenju Neve Campbell.

Sidney fali u šestom “Vrisku”, jednako kao što u “Creedu III” fali Stalloneov Rocky, ali film uspijeva zamaskirati njezinu odsutnost s nekoliko uzbudljivih scena, među ostalim i prvim pozivom Ghostfacea upućenim novinarki Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox; jedina iz temeljnog castinga serijala), odnosno pokušajem razbijanja pravila franšize.

“Nitko više ne snima obične nastavke, mi smo u franšizi, a one opstaju ako obrnu pravila”, govori filmofilka Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown), Mindy ističe da nitko više nije siguran, ni ona, njezin brat Chad (Mason Gooding) i sestre Carpenter iz “petice”, pa ni povratnica Gale i Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere), akterica filma “Scream 4”, te novi likovi Anika, Josh, Ethan i Quinn (Devyn Nekoda, Danny Brackett, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato).

“Vrisak VI” ide nožem na franšizu, minimalizira nostalgiju prijašnjeg filma i u odnosu na njega pokušava biti nešto kao “Vrisak 2” i “Vrisak 3” spram originala, potencirati prethodnika kao svaki nastavak, u ovom slučaju eskalirati krv i nasilje, povećati broj leševa, pridržavati se jednih pravila i, još više, kršiti druga ili ih nanovo napisati.

Na koncu, ovo nije “običan nastavak”, nego nastavak tzv. requela, filma koji je istovremeno i “remake/reboot” i “sequel”. Međutim, “Scream VI” znade se pogubiti u prevelikom htijenju, ali i broju likova. Novi likovi nisu toliko interesantni, izuzev sestara Carpenter, napose Samanthe, koja se hrva s ubojitim nasljeđem oca, Billyja Loomisa (Skeet Ulrich), jednog od dva Ghostfacea iz prvog “Vriska”.

S druge strane, neki stari likovi vraćeni su “pro forma”, kao Kirby koja, sada u ulozi agentice FBI-ja, izgleda poput protagonistice neke krimi serije ili je Panettiere tako glumi, iako je možda i u tome kvaka budući da se “Vrisak VI” sprda i s popularnošću televizije (Gale nije prodala prava na film jer “svi žele limitirane serije o istinitim zločinima”).

Neke dobre ideje samo su natuknute u scenariju Guya Busicka i Jamesa Vanderbilta (kino serijskog ubojice kao svetište franšize), a otkriće tko se ovaj put krije iza maske Ghostfacea pomalo je razočaravajuće, premda smisleno u okviru ovog i prethodnog filma.

Ipak, kad je riječ o napetim scenama, “Scream VI” ne zaostaje za prethodnicima, naprotiv, Bettinelli-Olpin i Gillett orkestrirali su neke od najnapetijih sekvencija serijala. Ističe se scena grčevita bijega kroz prozor preko ljestava do stana u suprotnoj zgradi i gledatelj grize nokte dok prati tko će se uspjeti prebaciti na drugu stranu.

Veoma je tenzična scena okršaja Ghostfacea i Gale jer strahujemo od toga hoće li i ona stradati kao Dewey u prijašnjem filmu. Vjerojatno najbolja scena “Vriska VI” odvija se tijekom Noći vještica u podzemnoj krcatoj putnicima s prigodnim maskama horor ikona (Michael Myers, Pinhead, Freddy Kruger, Pennywise...), uključujući i nekoliko Ghostfacea. Jedan od njih sigurno je “pravi” Ghostface, samo je pitanje koji i tko će se naći s druge strane njegove oštrice.

Najavljena i ‘sedmica‘

Režiserski dvojac najavljuje i sedmi dio, a planira snimiti i nastavak futurističkog akcijskog klasika "Bijeg iz New Yorka" u kojem bi angažirali starog dobrog Kurta Russella.

Profesorica filmske umjetnosti (Samara Weaving) sjedi za šankom u newyorškom “fancy” baru i čeka nekoga. Na mobitel joj stiže poruka “Mogu li nazvati?”. Kad preuzme poziv, doznat ćemo da se treba naći sa studentom (on je i zove, izgubio se po putu) i da je držala predavanje o slasherskim hororima 20. stoljeća.

“Koji ti je najdraži film strave?” uslijedi pitanje kakvo je metafilmski “Vrisak” 1996. učinio antologijskim unutar slasher horora i šire. “Nije taj”, odgovara profesorica filma ciljajući na “Scream”. Ona će spominjati klišeje u kontekstu slashera, ali svejedno će izići vani i ući u susjednu uličicu ne bi li pomogla studentu da pronađe bar.
