"Trebate maštu da biste zamislili budućnost koja ne postoji", citira se iransko-američka spisateljica Azar Nafisi u dokumentarnom filmu “Između revolucija” (“Intre revolutii”/”Between Revolutions”). Nakon citata rumunjski filmaš Vlad Petri ukratko izlaže o čemu je točno riječ u njegovu dokumentarcu, premijerno prikazanom na Berlinaleu, nakon čega se zavrtio na ZagrebDoxu i sada je u hrvatskoj kinodistribuciji.

Maria i Zahra studirale su u sedamdesetima na medicinskom fakultetu u Bukureštu. Maria je bila Rumunjka, Zahra Iranka. U vrijeme komunizma mnogi s Bliskog istoka dolazili su u Rumunjsku studirati, a 1978., prije zadnje godine, Zahra je odlučila vratiti se u Iran. U njezinoj domovini događalo se nešto važno...

Događala se, naime, Islamska revolucija 1979. koju Petri isprepleće s onom u Rumunjskoj deset godina kasnije. Na tom isprepletanju povijesti dviju država redatelj gradi priču, kao i na fiktivnom dopisivanju Marije i Zahre. Rezultat je dojmljivi i prilično jedinstveni povijesni društveno-politički i epistolarni dokumentarac.

Naime, pisana komunikacija Rumunjke i Iranke nije stvarna, već je inspirirana stvarnim primjerima iz dokumenata iz tajnih arhiva rumunjske policije. Pisma je napisala koscenaristica dokumentarca Lavinia Braniste, ubacujući suptilne lezbijske konotacije, a glasove ženama posudile su Victoria Stoiciu i Ilinca Harnut.

Povijesna zbilja i zbiljska fikcija dobro se nadopunjuju dok Petri pronalazi sličnosti u revolucijama odigranim u različitim zemljama (Iran, Rumunjska) i razdobljima (dijeli ih čitava dekada), od motiva paljenja američke zastave do paljenja Ceausescuove slike. Petri efektno kompilira historiju kroz arhivske snimke i pismovnu naraciju.

Dopisivanje Marije i Zahre tu je da stavi akcent na male ljude suočene s velikim događajima povijesti, odnosno novom politikom/novim režimom koji se ne mijenjaju do kraja i često zaboravljaju na njihove nade i čežnje o promjeni društva nabolje. Iako su obje revolucije dočekane s osjećajem da je “ovo trenutak promjene”, nije se puno toga promijenilo.

Osamdesete u Iranu bile su obilježene restrikcijama, o Iransko-iračkom ratu da i ne govorimo, a ni devedesete u Rumunjskoj nisu bile nešto bolje, o čemu svjedoče rumunjski filmovi (npr. “Too Late” i “Next Stop Paradise” Luciana Pintiliea) iz danog razdoblja, preteče festivalske “Romanian new wave” senzacije 21. stoljeća, u koju se uklapa i Petrijev dokumentarac. “Oni koji su preuzeli vlast počeli su vršiti pritisak na intelektualce ljevičare, ljude koji žele nešto drugo”, čujemo.

Otpor prema novom političkom režimu je kroniciran u filmu (“zajedno ćemo pobijediti imperijalizam”, “sloboda je naša kultura, tišina je naša sramota”, “dolje konzervativci”), kao i prilagođavanje, uz dosta razočaranja, gorčine i rezignacije te tračak nade zahvaljujući prijateljstvu i ljudskom zajedništvu. Nade da će se “tvoj glas čuti” i da će mali ljudi ponijeti “golemi teret revolucije”.

"Trebate maštu da biste zamislili budućnost koja ne postoji", citira se iransko-američka spisateljica Azar Nafisi u dokumentarnom filmu “Između revolucija” (“Intre revolutii”/”Between Revolutions”). Nakon citata rumunjski filmaš Vlad Petri ukratko izlaže o čemu je točno riječ u njegovu dokumentarcu, premijerno prikazanom na Berlinaleu, nakon čega se zavrtio na ZagrebDoxu i sada je u hrvatskoj kinodistribuciji.

Maria i Zahra studirale su u sedamdesetima na medicinskom fakultetu u Bukureštu. Maria je bila Rumunjka, Zahra Iranka. U vrijeme komunizma mnogi s Bliskog istoka dolazili su u Rumunjsku studirati, a 1978., prije zadnje godine, Zahra je odlučila vratiti se u Iran. U njezinoj domovini događalo se nešto važno...

Događala se, naime, Islamska revolucija 1979. koju Petri isprepleće s onom u Rumunjskoj deset godina kasnije. Na tom isprepletanju povijesti dviju država redatelj gradi priču, kao i na fiktivnom dopisivanju Marije i Zahre. Rezultat je dojmljivi i prilično jedinstveni povijesni društveno-politički i epistolarni dokumentarac.

Naime, pisana komunikacija Rumunjke i Iranke nije stvarna, već je inspirirana stvarnim primjerima iz dokumenata iz tajnih arhiva rumunjske policije. Pisma je napisala koscenaristica dokumentarca Lavinia Braniste, ubacujući suptilne lezbijske konotacije, a glasove ženama posudile su Victoria Stoiciu i Ilinca Harnut.

Povijesna zbilja i zbiljska fikcija dobro se nadopunjuju dok Petri pronalazi sličnosti u revolucijama odigranim u različitim zemljama (Iran, Rumunjska) i razdobljima (dijeli ih čitava dekada), od motiva paljenja američke zastave do paljenja Ceausescuove slike. Petri efektno kompilira historiju kroz arhivske snimke i pismovnu naraciju.

Dopisivanje Marije i Zahre tu je da stavi akcent na male ljude suočene s velikim događajima povijesti, odnosno novom politikom/novim režimom koji se ne mijenjaju do kraja i često zaboravljaju na njihove nade i čežnje o promjeni društva nabolje. Iako su obje revolucije dočekane s osjećajem da je “ovo trenutak promjene”, nije se puno toga promijenilo.

Osamdesete u Iranu bile su obilježene restrikcijama, o Iransko-iračkom ratu da i ne govorimo, a ni devedesete u Rumunjskoj nisu bile nešto bolje, o čemu svjedoče rumunjski filmovi (npr. “Too Late” i “Next Stop Paradise” Luciana Pintiliea) iz danog razdoblja, preteče festivalske “Romanian new wave” senzacije 21. stoljeća, u koju se uklapa i Petrijev dokumentarac. “Oni koji su preuzeli vlast počeli su vršiti pritisak na intelektualce ljevičare, ljude koji žele nešto drugo”, čujemo.

Otpor prema novom političkom režimu je kroniciran u filmu (“zajedno ćemo pobijediti imperijalizam”, “sloboda je naša kultura, tišina je naša sramota”, “dolje konzervativci”), kao i prilagođavanje, uz dosta razočaranja, gorčine i rezignacije te tračak nade zahvaljujući prijateljstvu i ljudskom zajedništvu. Nade da će se “tvoj glas čuti” i da će mali ljudi ponijeti “golemi teret revolucije”.
