Šest oskarovskih nominacija, koliko je friško dobio "Kralj Richard" s Willom Smithom u glavnoj ulozi oca teniskih sestara Williams, dobra su pozivnica za gledanje prethodnog uratka redatelja Reinalda Marcusa Greena "Dobri Joe Bell".

Film "Good Joe Bell" se premijerno pojavio na "online" videotržištu nedugo prije Oscar nominacija koje bi mogle skrenuti pozornost na Greena ("Monsters and Men").

Ne treba smetati što će domaći filmofili Greena potencijalno upoznati najprije po "King Richardu" pa tek onda po ovom filmu. Najprije su upoznali i Quentina Tarantina i Paula Thomasa Andersona preko "Paklenog šunda" i "Kralja pornića", da bi onda dobili uvid u njihove ranije filmove "Psi iz rezervoara" i "Teška osmica".

Iako, Green nije za usporedbu s Andersonom, kamoli Tarantinom, barem ne u kontekstu "Dobrog Joea Bella" i "Kralja Richarda" koji su oskarovske drame nalik onima kakve su se snimale devedesetih.

"King Richard" je bolji film, ali i "Good Joe Bell" je okej, premda se čini da je jednako, ili još više, iskalkuliran, rađen s oskarovskim tendencijama, iz dvostruko aktivističkog angažmana, ali uspijeva donijeti tračak iskrenosti na ekran.

Priča je istinita, iz 2015., a govori o Amerikancu iz Oregona Joeu Bellu (Mark Wahlberg) čiji je sin Jadin (Reid Miller) bio žrtva maltretiranja jer je "gay" u okruženju gdje to nije popularno biti, što je dovelo do tragedije i navelo mladića da si oduzme život.

Shrvani Joe osjeća odgovornost što je i sam kao mačo muškarac, "tough guy", imao određene predrasude kad je čuo sinov "coming out" pa, nakon samoubojstva djeteta, iz pokore odlučuje propješačiti "pola Amerike", od Oregona sve do New Yorka, kamo se Jadin želio preseliti, te usput propovijedati o "bullyingu" i (ne)toleranciji ne bi li popravio svijet.

Drame devedesetih su evocirane u naslovu filma ("Dobri Will Hunting"), a i u Joeovoj pješačkoj odiseji ("Forrest Gump"). Jednu od uloga, policajca, igra i Gary Sinise, nezaboravan kao poručnik Dan u "Forrestu Gumpu".

Međutim, "Good Joe Bell" je Wahlbergov film i Green ga želi preoblikovati kao dramskog glumca, potencijalnog oskarovca, što nije postao sa sporednom ulogom u "Pokojnima", pa je sada spreman napraviti sve, pa i propješačiti Ameriku.

Na taj način, "Dobri Joe Bell" postaje nekakav aktivistički meta film, odnosno između glumca i njegovog lika može se povući paralela, što zbivanja čini intrigantnijima.

Wahlberg je započeo u dramama ("Boogie Nights"), ali se pozicionirao kao protagonist blockbustera ("Oluja svih oluja", "Transformersi 4&5", "Pakao na horizontu"), najčešće "tough guy" junak mačo akcija svih vrsta i boja ("Max Payne", "2 igrača", "Jedini preživjeli", "22 milje", "Spenser Confidential", "Infinite", "Uncharted") s rijetkim otkliznućima u nešto dramskije ("Bostonski heroji") ili drukčije ("Pain&Gain").

Uloga Bella nije za Oscara, no Wahlberg je barem nakratko preoblikovao karijeru s filmom koji nastoji objediniti oskarovsku i nezavisnjačku dramu, srcedrapateljske i realističke sentimente, dok odašilje hvalevrijednu, vječno aktualnu poruku kontra homofobije i netolerancije, ali prečesto izgleda kao "message movie".

Pa ipak, Wahlberg u svojoj najrealističnijoj ulozi dosad pokazuje da može biti (melo)dramski suptilan kad scena to najviše treba i doprinosti katarzičnosti lika i filma. "Good Joe Bell" u takvim trenucima umije biti skroz dobra drama.

Šest oskarovskih nominacija, koliko je friško dobio "Kralj Richard" s Willom Smithom u glavnoj ulozi oca teniskih sestara Williams, dobra su pozivnica za gledanje prethodnog uratka redatelja Reinalda Marcusa Greena "Dobri Joe Bell".

Film "Good Joe Bell" se premijerno pojavio na "online" videotržištu nedugo prije Oscar nominacija koje bi mogle skrenuti pozornost na Greena ("Monsters and Men").

Ne treba smetati što će domaći filmofili Greena potencijalno upoznati najprije po "King Richardu" pa tek onda po ovom filmu. Najprije su upoznali i Quentina Tarantina i Paula Thomasa Andersona preko "Paklenog šunda" i "Kralja pornića", da bi onda dobili uvid u njihove ranije filmove "Psi iz rezervoara" i "Teška osmica".

Iako, Green nije za usporedbu s Andersonom, kamoli Tarantinom, barem ne u kontekstu "Dobrog Joea Bella" i "Kralja Richarda" koji su oskarovske drame nalik onima kakve su se snimale devedesetih.

"King Richard" je bolji film, ali i "Good Joe Bell" je okej, premda se čini da je jednako, ili još više, iskalkuliran, rađen s oskarovskim tendencijama, iz dvostruko aktivističkog angažmana, ali uspijeva donijeti tračak iskrenosti na ekran.

Priča je istinita, iz 2015., a govori o Amerikancu iz Oregona Joeu Bellu (Mark Wahlberg) čiji je sin Jadin (Reid Miller) bio žrtva maltretiranja jer je "gay" u okruženju gdje to nije popularno biti, što je dovelo do tragedije i navelo mladića da si oduzme život.

Shrvani Joe osjeća odgovornost što je i sam kao mačo muškarac, "tough guy", imao određene predrasude kad je čuo sinov "coming out" pa, nakon samoubojstva djeteta, iz pokore odlučuje propješačiti "pola Amerike", od Oregona sve do New Yorka, kamo se Jadin želio preseliti, te usput propovijedati o "bullyingu" i (ne)toleranciji ne bi li popravio svijet.

Drame devedesetih su evocirane u naslovu filma ("Dobri Will Hunting"), a i u Joeovoj pješačkoj odiseji ("Forrest Gump"). Jednu od uloga, policajca, igra i Gary Sinise, nezaboravan kao poručnik Dan u "Forrestu Gumpu".

Međutim, "Good Joe Bell" je Wahlbergov film i Green ga želi preoblikovati kao dramskog glumca, potencijalnog oskarovca, što nije postao sa sporednom ulogom u "Pokojnima", pa je sada spreman napraviti sve, pa i propješačiti Ameriku.

Na taj način, "Dobri Joe Bell" postaje nekakav aktivistički meta film, odnosno između glumca i njegovog lika može se povući paralela, što zbivanja čini intrigantnijima.

Wahlberg je započeo u dramama ("Boogie Nights"), ali se pozicionirao kao protagonist blockbustera ("Oluja svih oluja", "Transformersi 4&5", "Pakao na horizontu"), najčešće "tough guy" junak mačo akcija svih vrsta i boja ("Max Payne", "2 igrača", "Jedini preživjeli", "22 milje", "Spenser Confidential", "Infinite", "Uncharted") s rijetkim otkliznućima u nešto dramskije ("Bostonski heroji") ili drukčije ("Pain&Gain").

Uloga Bella nije za Oscara, no Wahlberg je barem nakratko preoblikovao karijeru s filmom koji nastoji objediniti oskarovsku i nezavisnjačku dramu, srcedrapateljske i realističke sentimente, dok odašilje hvalevrijednu, vječno aktualnu poruku kontra homofobije i netolerancije, ali prečesto izgleda kao "message movie".

Pa ipak, Wahlberg u svojoj najrealističnijoj ulozi dosad pokazuje da može biti (melo)dramski suptilan kad scena to najviše treba i doprinosti katarzičnosti lika i filma. "Good Joe Bell" u takvim trenucima umije biti skroz dobra drama.
