Proces proširenja Europske unije potrebno je ubrzati, rekla je predsjednica Europska komisije Ursula von der Leyen u srijedu u Strasbourgu na plenarnoj sjednici Europskog parlamenta. "Budućnost Ukrajine je u našoj Uniji. Budućnost zapadnog Balkana je u našoj Uniji. Budućnost Moldavije je u našoj Uniji. I znam koliko je europska perspektiva važna za mnoge ljude u Gruziji", rekla je von der Leyen.

Predsjednica EK  rekla je da su bloku od 27 zemalja potrebne reforme i podržala reviziju Ugovora o Uniji "ako i gdje je to potrebno", ali poručila da ne treba čekati da se to dogodi da bi se ubrzala europska integracija. "Unija koja je spremna za proširenje može se brže postići", a preduvjet za to je odgovoriti na praktična pitanja kako će Unija s više od 30 zemalja funkcionirati u praksi, naglasila je von der Leyen. Srbija i Crna Gora vode pregovore, ali prilično sporo, Sjeverna Makedonija i Albanija tek su ih službeno otvorile 2022., Ukrajina, Moldavija i BiH dobile su prošle godine status kandidata, a Kosovo ima status potencijalnog kandidata, kazala je.

Najavila ke kako će Komisija predložiti produljenje privremene zaštite za Ukrajince u Europskoj uniji. “Naša podrška Ukrajini će trajati”, rekla je šefica EK te dodala kako će će 2023. Ukrajini osigurati paket potpore u iznosu do 18 milijardi eura u obliku povoljnih zajmova, a 12 milijardi eura već je isplaćeno. To će omogućiti Ukrajini da isplaćuje plaće i mirovine te zadrži osnovne javne usluge. Komisija je predložila dodatnih 50 milijardi eura u iduće četiri godine za ulaganja i reforme u Ukrajini. Osvrnula se i na visoku inflaciju naglasivši kako ona ostaje značajan ekonomski izazov, iako padaju cijene energenata nakon energetske krize nastale ruskom invazijom na Ukrajinu. - U Uniji u 2023. manje od 10 posto ukupnog uvoza plina dolazi iz Rusije. Europske rezerve plina popunjene su do rekordne razine iznad 95 posto, iako se nije činilo da će Europa u tome uspjeti -  poručila je među ostalim von der Leyen dodajući kako se EU počela osamostaljivati u kritičnim sektorima poput energetike, čipova ili sirovina.

Njemačka političarka čiji je mandat na čelu Komisije u prvoj polovici mandata obilježila pandemija koronavirusa, a potom rat u Ukrajini, održala je posljednji govor o stanju Unije prije europskih izbora. Von der Leyen uvodno se obratila biračima, posebno mladima koji će 2024. prvi put izaći na europske izbore. "Za nešto manje od 300 dana Europljani će izaći na izbore u našoj jedinstvenoj i izvanrednoj demokraciji. Kao i na svakim drugim izborima, bit će to vrijeme da se ljudi osvrnu na stanje naše Unije i poslu koji obavljaju oni koji ih predstavljaju. To će biti vrijeme odluke o tome kakvu budućnost i kakvu Europu žele", rekla je von der Leyen. Prvi govor o stanju Unije održao je Jose Manuel Barosso 2013., tradiciju je nastavio Jean-Claude Juncker, a potom von der Leyen.

Proces proširenja Europske unije potrebno je ubrzati, rekla je predsjednica Europska komisije Ursula von der Leyen u srijedu u Strasbourgu na plenarnoj sjednici Europskog parlamenta. "Budućnost Ukrajine je u našoj Uniji. Budućnost zapadnog Balkana je u našoj Uniji. Budućnost Moldavije je u našoj Uniji. I znam koliko je europska perspektiva važna za mnoge ljude u Gruziji", rekla je von der Leyen.

Predsjednica EK  rekla je da su bloku od 27 zemalja potrebne reforme i podržala reviziju Ugovora o Uniji "ako i gdje je to potrebno", ali poručila da ne treba čekati da se to dogodi da bi se ubrzala europska integracija. "Unija koja je spremna za proširenje može se brže postići", a preduvjet za to je odgovoriti na praktična pitanja kako će Unija s više od 30 zemalja funkcionirati u praksi, naglasila je von der Leyen. Srbija i Crna Gora vode pregovore, ali prilično sporo, Sjeverna Makedonija i Albanija tek su ih službeno otvorile 2022., Ukrajina, Moldavija i BiH dobile su prošle godine status kandidata, a Kosovo ima status potencijalnog kandidata, kazala je.

Najavila ke kako će Komisija predložiti produljenje privremene zaštite za Ukrajince u Europskoj uniji. “Naša podrška Ukrajini će trajati”, rekla je šefica EK te dodala kako će će 2023. Ukrajini osigurati paket potpore u iznosu do 18 milijardi eura u obliku povoljnih zajmova, a 12 milijardi eura već je isplaćeno. To će omogućiti Ukrajini da isplaćuje plaće i mirovine te zadrži osnovne javne usluge. Komisija je predložila dodatnih 50 milijardi eura u iduće četiri godine za ulaganja i reforme u Ukrajini. Osvrnula se i na visoku inflaciju naglasivši kako ona ostaje značajan ekonomski izazov, iako padaju cijene energenata nakon energetske krize nastale ruskom invazijom na Ukrajinu. - U Uniji u 2023. manje od 10 posto ukupnog uvoza plina dolazi iz Rusije. Europske rezerve plina popunjene su do rekordne razine iznad 95 posto, iako se nije činilo da će Europa u tome uspjeti -  poručila je među ostalim von der Leyen dodajući kako se EU počela osamostaljivati u kritičnim sektorima poput energetike, čipova ili sirovina.

Njemačka političarka čiji je mandat na čelu Komisije u prvoj polovici mandata obilježila pandemija koronavirusa, a potom rat u Ukrajini, održala je posljednji govor o stanju Unije prije europskih izbora. Von der Leyen uvodno se obratila biračima, posebno mladima koji će 2024. prvi put izaći na europske izbore. "Za nešto manje od 300 dana Europljani će izaći na izbore u našoj jedinstvenoj i izvanrednoj demokraciji. Kao i na svakim drugim izborima, bit će to vrijeme da se ljudi osvrnu na stanje naše Unije i poslu koji obavljaju oni koji ih predstavljaju. To će biti vrijeme odluke o tome kakvu budućnost i kakvu Europu žele", rekla je von der Leyen. Prvi govor o stanju Unije održao je Jose Manuel Barosso 2013., tradiciju je nastavio Jean-Claude Juncker, a potom von der Leyen.
