Ekipa ronilačkog kluba Manta iz Komiže pronašla je u viškom podmorju, na 115 metara dubine, odlično očuvani avion iz Drugog svjetskog rata, bombarder B17 izvornog imena Tennessee Sunshine, drugog imena Garbage Cannie.
Vijest se proširila munjevitom brzinom u ronilačkim krugovima u kojima su Lorenz Marović i njegov sin Andy iz kluba Manta, itekako čuveni po otkrićima savezničkim aviona u dubinama oko Visa. Ovo im je kažu nam, deveti bombarder, a jedinstven je po tome što je gotovo neoštećen nađen na dnu mora. Bio je samo zapetljan u ribarsku mrežu, što su uspješno otklonili.

- Zaista je nađen u odličnom stanju, uz tek neznatna oštećenja, vide se rupe od mitraljeza. Preko Danijela Frke (stručnjaka za olupine brodova i ostatke aviona na morskom dnu, op.a.) rekonstruirali smo njegov put: poletio je iz Italije, 1945. godine, sa zadatkom da bombardira željeznički kolodvor u Zagrebu, kako bi spriječio povlačenje Nijemaca. Povratku iz akcije 4. ožujka najvjerojatnije ga je pogodila nacistička protuzračna obrana. Od deset članova posade, sedmero ih je preživjelo. Avion je konstruiran tako da može sletjeti na površinu neoštećen, kako bi se posada evakuirana gumenjakom, a onda je potonuo. Zato je i ostao neštećen. Kada se spustite do njega, djeluje kao da je parkiran na pisti. Bila je velika čast zaroniti do aviona i vidjeti uživo taj dijelić povijesti - ne krijući oduševljenje priča nam Andy kojem se eto, ukazala još jedna lijepa prilika za otkrićem iz morskih dubina.

Ronjenje na dubini preko sto metara traži posebne tehnike i opremu. S ekipom iz Mante bili su njihovi dugogodišnji prijatelji iz Njemačke Tom Baier, Stefan Pape, Sabine Kerkaj, Ralf Wupper, Markus Schuster, Thomas Zsulits, Corinna Krimme, Constantin Walz, Alan Calovs i Jorg Kleine-Piening, sve iskusni ronioci koji su napravili sjajne video i foto zapise.
Nalaz je prijavljen Ministarstvu kulture, odnosno Konzervatorskom odjelu, a kako to i biva s takvim nalazima, ostat će u podmorju, zabilježen u knjigama o nalazima. Ronioci su sa sobom ponijeli samo lijepe uspomene i hrpu fotografija.
Andy nam kaže kako je širi akvarorij Visa, tamo sve do Jabuke, pravo nalazište aviona iz Drugog svjetskog rata. Na otok koji nije bio pod njemačkom kontrolom, bi se spuštali prisilno ukoliko su imali kakva oštećenja. Pretpostavlja se da ih je u podmorju negdje između 40 i 50.

Ekipa ronilačkog kluba Manta iz Komiže pronašla je u viškom podmorju, na 115 metara dubine, odlično očuvani avion iz Drugog svjetskog rata, bombarder B17 izvornog imena Tennessee Sunshine, drugog imena Garbage Cannie.
Vijest se proširila munjevitom brzinom u ronilačkim krugovima u kojima su Lorenz Marović i njegov sin Andy iz kluba Manta, itekako čuveni po otkrićima savezničkim aviona u dubinama oko Visa. Ovo im je kažu nam, deveti bombarder, a jedinstven je po tome što je gotovo neoštećen nađen na dnu mora. Bio je samo zapetljan u ribarsku mrežu, što su uspješno otklonili.

- Zaista je nađen u odličnom stanju, uz tek neznatna oštećenja, vide se rupe od mitraljeza. Preko Danijela Frke (stručnjaka za olupine brodova i ostatke aviona na morskom dnu, op.a.) rekonstruirali smo njegov put: poletio je iz Italije, 1945. godine, sa zadatkom da bombardira željeznički kolodvor u Zagrebu, kako bi spriječio povlačenje Nijemaca. Povratku iz akcije 4. ožujka najvjerojatnije ga je pogodila nacistička protuzračna obrana. Od deset članova posade, sedmero ih je preživjelo. Avion je konstruiran tako da može sletjeti na površinu neoštećen, kako bi se posada evakuirana gumenjakom, a onda je potonuo. Zato je i ostao neštećen. Kada se spustite do njega, djeluje kao da je parkiran na pisti. Bila je velika čast zaroniti do aviona i vidjeti uživo taj dijelić povijesti - ne krijući oduševljenje priča nam Andy kojem se eto, ukazala još jedna lijepa prilika za otkrićem iz morskih dubina.

Ronjenje na dubini preko sto metara traži posebne tehnike i opremu. S ekipom iz Mante bili su njihovi dugogodišnji prijatelji iz Njemačke Tom Baier, Stefan Pape, Sabine Kerkaj, Ralf Wupper, Markus Schuster, Thomas Zsulits, Corinna Krimme, Constantin Walz, Alan Calovs i Jorg Kleine-Piening, sve iskusni ronioci koji su napravili sjajne video i foto zapise.
Nalaz je prijavljen Ministarstvu kulture, odnosno Konzervatorskom odjelu, a kako to i biva s takvim nalazima, ostat će u podmorju, zabilježen u knjigama o nalazima. Ronioci su sa sobom ponijeli samo lijepe uspomene i hrpu fotografija.
Andy nam kaže kako je širi akvarorij Visa, tamo sve do Jabuke, pravo nalazište aviona iz Drugog svjetskog rata. Na otok koji nije bio pod njemačkom kontrolom, bi se spuštali prisilno ukoliko su imali kakva oštećenja. Pretpostavlja se da ih je u podmorju negdje između 40 i 50.
