Neravnomjerna pokrivenost cjepivom i popuštanje preventivnih mjera doveli su Europu do nove "kritične točke" u pandemiji, priopćila je Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija, prognozirajući čak pola milijuna novih smrtnih slučajeva od korone u iduća dva mjeseca, do veljače 2022.

Hans Kluge, direktor WHO-a za Europu, rekao je da se sve 53 zemlje u regiji suočavaju s prijetnjom ponovnog opasnog širenja Covida-19, te je pozvao vlade da nametnu ili još oštrije nastave s mjerama socijalne distance i javnog zdravlja.

Europa je opet u epicentru pandemije, rekao je Kluge. Tražim od svih zdravstvenih tijela da pažljivo preispitaju ublažavanje ili ukidanje mjera u ovom trenutku, apelirao je, dodavši da se to odnosi i na zemlje s visokim stopama procijepljenosti. Cjepiva čine ono što je obećano: sprječavaju teške oblike bolesti i osobito smrtnost, no ona su naše najmoćnije dobro samo ako se koriste uz druge javnozdravstvene i socijalne mjere – poručio je europski šef WHO-a.

Catherine Smallwood, dužnosnica za hitne slučajeve europskoga WHO-a, upozorila je da su sve zemlje koje su ukinule preventivne mjere uglavnom doživjele porast broja infekcija. Cijepljenja su omogućila da te države nisu bilježile iste stope hospitalizacije ili smrtnosti koje su bile očekivane i evidentirane ranije, no matematika je neumoljiva: što više slučajeva zaraze imate u dnevnoj evidenciji, više će ljudi naposljetku završiti u bolnici i na listama umrlih. U populacijama još postoji mnogo osjetljivih pojedinaca, čak i kad su posrijedi visoko cijepljene zemlje, i to dovodi do nepredvidivih eksplozija Covida-19 – zaključila je Smallwood.

Hans Kluge je izračunao kako je broj ukupnih slučajeva u Europi i središnjoj Aziji porastao za 6 posto u samo tjedan dana, a smrtnih slučajeva za 12 posto. Broj novih dnevnih infekcija u mjesecu listopadu je skočio za čak 55 posto. Europa i središnja Azija zajedno čine 59 posto svih aktivnih slučajeva covida na svijetu i gotovo polovicu svih smrtnih slučajeva.

 "Ako ostanemo na ovoj putanji, mogli bismo vidjeti još pola milijuna smrti od Covida-19 u Europi i središnjoj Aziji do prvog veljače sljedeće godine. Najmanje 43 europske zemlje suočit će se s velikim do ekstremnim stresom zbog manjka bolničkih kreveta, upozorio je europski zdravstveni dužnosnik, primarno ciljajući na balkanske, baltičke i istočnoeuropske zemlje.

„Dok je u nekim europskim zemljama više od 70 posto ljudi potpuno cijepljeno, tamo gdje je primjena cjepiva niska stope prijema u bolnice već su ekstremno visoke, a hospitaliziraju se uglavnom necijepljeni ljudi“, rezimirao je Kluge.

Nasuprot predsjedniku Zoranu Milanoviću koji se opet izjasnio protiv daljnje primjene maski u javnom životu, procjene WHO-a sugeriraju da bi dosljedno korištenje maski u zemljama Europe i središnje Azije do veljače moglo sačuvati od 188 tisuća do čak pola milijuna života.

Preventivne mjere ne oduzimaju ljudima slobodu, naglasili su, nego im je osiguravaju i dopuštaju im da nastave sa svojim životima. Covid propusnice Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija također smatra uspješnim „kolektivnim sredstvom prema slobodi pojedinca".

Neravnomjerna pokrivenost cjepivom i popuštanje preventivnih mjera doveli su Europu do nove "kritične točke" u pandemiji, priopćila je Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija, prognozirajući čak pola milijuna novih smrtnih slučajeva od korone u iduća dva mjeseca, do veljače 2022.

Hans Kluge, direktor WHO-a za Europu, rekao je da se sve 53 zemlje u regiji suočavaju s prijetnjom ponovnog opasnog širenja Covida-19, te je pozvao vlade da nametnu ili još oštrije nastave s mjerama socijalne distance i javnog zdravlja.

Europa je opet u epicentru pandemije, rekao je Kluge. Tražim od svih zdravstvenih tijela da pažljivo preispitaju ublažavanje ili ukidanje mjera u ovom trenutku, apelirao je, dodavši da se to odnosi i na zemlje s visokim stopama procijepljenosti. Cjepiva čine ono što je obećano: sprječavaju teške oblike bolesti i osobito smrtnost, no ona su naše najmoćnije dobro samo ako se koriste uz druge javnozdravstvene i socijalne mjere – poručio je europski šef WHO-a.

Catherine Smallwood, dužnosnica za hitne slučajeve europskoga WHO-a, upozorila je da su sve zemlje koje su ukinule preventivne mjere uglavnom doživjele porast broja infekcija. Cijepljenja su omogućila da te države nisu bilježile iste stope hospitalizacije ili smrtnosti koje su bile očekivane i evidentirane ranije, no matematika je neumoljiva: što više slučajeva zaraze imate u dnevnoj evidenciji, više će ljudi naposljetku završiti u bolnici i na listama umrlih. U populacijama još postoji mnogo osjetljivih pojedinaca, čak i kad su posrijedi visoko cijepljene zemlje, i to dovodi do nepredvidivih eksplozija Covida-19 – zaključila je Smallwood.

Hans Kluge je izračunao kako je broj ukupnih slučajeva u Europi i središnjoj Aziji porastao za 6 posto u samo tjedan dana, a smrtnih slučajeva za 12 posto. Broj novih dnevnih infekcija u mjesecu listopadu je skočio za čak 55 posto. Europa i središnja Azija zajedno čine 59 posto svih aktivnih slučajeva covida na svijetu i gotovo polovicu svih smrtnih slučajeva.

 "Ako ostanemo na ovoj putanji, mogli bismo vidjeti još pola milijuna smrti od Covida-19 u Europi i središnjoj Aziji do prvog veljače sljedeće godine. Najmanje 43 europske zemlje suočit će se s velikim do ekstremnim stresom zbog manjka bolničkih kreveta, upozorio je europski zdravstveni dužnosnik, primarno ciljajući na balkanske, baltičke i istočnoeuropske zemlje.

„Dok je u nekim europskim zemljama više od 70 posto ljudi potpuno cijepljeno, tamo gdje je primjena cjepiva niska stope prijema u bolnice već su ekstremno visoke, a hospitaliziraju se uglavnom necijepljeni ljudi“, rezimirao je Kluge.

Nasuprot predsjedniku Zoranu Milanoviću koji se opet izjasnio protiv daljnje primjene maski u javnom životu, procjene WHO-a sugeriraju da bi dosljedno korištenje maski u zemljama Europe i središnje Azije do veljače moglo sačuvati od 188 tisuća do čak pola milijuna života.

Preventivne mjere ne oduzimaju ljudima slobodu, naglasili su, nego im je osiguravaju i dopuštaju im da nastave sa svojim životima. Covid propusnice Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija također smatra uspješnim „kolektivnim sredstvom prema slobodi pojedinca".
