P&O Ferries, britansko brodsko poduzeće koje upravlja trajektima iz Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva u Irsku i kontinentalnu Europu, je bez upozorenja otpustio 800 djelatnika, ali dio posade je odlučio prkositi naredbama i odbija napustiti svoje brodove u znak protesta. Radnicima je vijest priopćena putem videopoziva. Tvrtka je rekla da je to "teška" odluka, ali da "njihov posao neće moći ostati održiv" bez ovih promjena.

Sindikat RMT je rekao da se članovi posade zamjenjuju jeftinijim inozemnim radnicima. P&O je poručio da njegove usluge neće raditi "sljedećih nekoliko dana", a putnicima je rečeno da koriste druge tvrtke. Službenici privatne zaštitarske firme poslani su na jedan brod koji je usidren u luci Larne u Sjevernoj Irskoj kako bi uklonili osoblje s broda, navodi RMT.

Gary Jackson, časnik s punim radnim vremenom na brodu Pride of Hull, rekao je da je posada usidrena u Hullu obaviještena da su izgubili posao putem unaprijed snimljene poruke u 11 ujutro i da od tvrtke nisu dobili ništa u pisanom obliku. "Još uvijek nismo dobili više detalja o tome što će ponuditi. S broda vidimo dva kombija, jedan s djelatnicima agencije, a drugi za koji vjerujemo da je zaštitarsko osoblje da nas makne... i zato je kapetan ovdje podigao rampu".

Poslanik East Hull Laburista Karl Turner rekao je da "nova strana posada čeka da se ukrca na Pride of Hull", dok je trenutna posada na brodu prionula "sjedenju", javlja BBC.

Međutim, neki su izvođači zapeli na brodu i ne smiju napustiti brod. Keith Davis bio je na Pride of Hull kako bi popravio dio kuhinjske opreme i rekao je da su on i osam kolega zaglavili na brodu nakon što je kapetan podigao rampu. "Drže nas protiv naše volje, ne pokušavam biti dramatičan, ali ne možemo sići s broda", rekao je Davis.

Sindikat je rekao da je naložio članovima da ostanu na svojim plovilima nakon što pristanu ili riskiraju da budu otpušteni s posla. Darren Procter iz RMT-a rekao je da osoblje nije uprethodno pozoreno. "Obaviješteni smo da dolaze autobusi puni ljudi koji bi trebali zamijeniti trenutne zaposlenike bez konzultacija sa osobljem ili sindikatima. Vidjeli smo minibuse pune radnika i zaštitara koji su prošli obuku vezanja lisica. Ovako se planiraju odnositi prema osoblju koji pokazuju otpor."

Tajnik prometa Grant Shapps rekao je da je "zabrinut" zbog vijesti i da će razgovarati s tvrtkom. P&O je poručio da njegov opstanak ovisi o "brzim i značajnim promjenama sada". "Imali smo gubitak od 100 milijuna funti godišnje, što je pokrio naš matični DP World. To nije održivo. Bez ovih promjena nema budućnosti za P&O Ferries."

P&O Ferries usluge planirane za ponedjeljak uključuju 14 linija između Dovera i Calaisa, tri između Liverpoola i Dublina i sedam između Larnea u okrugu Antrim i Cairnryana u Dumfriesu i Gallowayu. Operater preko kanala objavio je na Twitteru da plovidbe između Dovera i Calaisa planirane za danas više neće voziti, a kupci s kartama dobili su upute da plove s konkurentskom trajektnom tvrtkom DFDS.

P&O Ferries jedna je od vodećih brodskih kompanija u Velikoj Britaniji, koja je prevozila više od 10 milijuna putnika godišnje prije pandemije i oko 15 posto cjelokupnog tereta u i izvan UK. Međutim, kao i mnogi prijevoznici, zabilježili su pad potražnje u pandemiji, što ih je prisililo da najave 1110 otpuštanja s radnih mjesta. To se dogodilo nakon što nisu uspjeli osigurati spas u vidu 150 milijuna funti poticajnih sredstava od vlade.

Lauren Shaw i njezin suprug rekli su za BBC da su rezervirali kod P&O putovanje trajektom od Cairnryana do Larnea u 16:00 popodne. "Dobili smo telefonski poziv u 10 ujutro da nam kažu da danas neće biti plovidbe, a da im nije rečeno zašto", rekla je. Bez daljnjih informacija, par jse zaputio u luku jer žive četiri sata daleko - i nadaju se uskoro novostima. "Rekli su da će nas, ako stignemo u luku, možda moći staviti na liniju Stena, ali to nije zajamčeno. To je stvarno frustrirajuće", dodala je Lauren.

P&O Ferries, britansko brodsko poduzeće koje upravlja trajektima iz Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva u Irsku i kontinentalnu Europu, je bez upozorenja otpustio 800 djelatnika, ali dio posade je odlučio prkositi naredbama i odbija napustiti svoje brodove u znak protesta. Radnicima je vijest priopćena putem videopoziva. Tvrtka je rekla da je to "teška" odluka, ali da "njihov posao neće moći ostati održiv" bez ovih promjena.

Sindikat RMT je rekao da se članovi posade zamjenjuju jeftinijim inozemnim radnicima. P&O je poručio da njegove usluge neće raditi "sljedećih nekoliko dana", a putnicima je rečeno da koriste druge tvrtke. Službenici privatne zaštitarske firme poslani su na jedan brod koji je usidren u luci Larne u Sjevernoj Irskoj kako bi uklonili osoblje s broda, navodi RMT.

Gary Jackson, časnik s punim radnim vremenom na brodu Pride of Hull, rekao je da je posada usidrena u Hullu obaviještena da su izgubili posao putem unaprijed snimljene poruke u 11 ujutro i da od tvrtke nisu dobili ništa u pisanom obliku. "Još uvijek nismo dobili više detalja o tome što će ponuditi. S broda vidimo dva kombija, jedan s djelatnicima agencije, a drugi za koji vjerujemo da je zaštitarsko osoblje da nas makne... i zato je kapetan ovdje podigao rampu".

Poslanik East Hull Laburista Karl Turner rekao je da "nova strana posada čeka da se ukrca na Pride of Hull", dok je trenutna posada na brodu prionula "sjedenju", javlja BBC.

Međutim, neki su izvođači zapeli na brodu i ne smiju napustiti brod. Keith Davis bio je na Pride of Hull kako bi popravio dio kuhinjske opreme i rekao je da su on i osam kolega zaglavili na brodu nakon što je kapetan podigao rampu. "Drže nas protiv naše volje, ne pokušavam biti dramatičan, ali ne možemo sići s broda", rekao je Davis.

Sindikat je rekao da je naložio članovima da ostanu na svojim plovilima nakon što pristanu ili riskiraju da budu otpušteni s posla. Darren Procter iz RMT-a rekao je da osoblje nije uprethodno pozoreno. "Obaviješteni smo da dolaze autobusi puni ljudi koji bi trebali zamijeniti trenutne zaposlenike bez konzultacija sa osobljem ili sindikatima. Vidjeli smo minibuse pune radnika i zaštitara koji su prošli obuku vezanja lisica. Ovako se planiraju odnositi prema osoblju koji pokazuju otpor."

Tajnik prometa Grant Shapps rekao je da je "zabrinut" zbog vijesti i da će razgovarati s tvrtkom. P&O je poručio da njegov opstanak ovisi o "brzim i značajnim promjenama sada". "Imali smo gubitak od 100 milijuna funti godišnje, što je pokrio naš matični DP World. To nije održivo. Bez ovih promjena nema budućnosti za P&O Ferries."

P&O Ferries usluge planirane za ponedjeljak uključuju 14 linija između Dovera i Calaisa, tri između Liverpoola i Dublina i sedam između Larnea u okrugu Antrim i Cairnryana u Dumfriesu i Gallowayu. Operater preko kanala objavio je na Twitteru da plovidbe između Dovera i Calaisa planirane za danas više neće voziti, a kupci s kartama dobili su upute da plove s konkurentskom trajektnom tvrtkom DFDS.

P&O Ferries jedna je od vodećih brodskih kompanija u Velikoj Britaniji, koja je prevozila više od 10 milijuna putnika godišnje prije pandemije i oko 15 posto cjelokupnog tereta u i izvan UK. Međutim, kao i mnogi prijevoznici, zabilježili su pad potražnje u pandemiji, što ih je prisililo da najave 1110 otpuštanja s radnih mjesta. To se dogodilo nakon što nisu uspjeli osigurati spas u vidu 150 milijuna funti poticajnih sredstava od vlade.

Lauren Shaw i njezin suprug rekli su za BBC da su rezervirali kod P&O putovanje trajektom od Cairnryana do Larnea u 16:00 popodne. "Dobili smo telefonski poziv u 10 ujutro da nam kažu da danas neće biti plovidbe, a da im nije rečeno zašto", rekla je. Bez daljnjih informacija, par jse zaputio u luku jer žive četiri sata daleko - i nadaju se uskoro novostima. "Rekli su da će nas, ako stignemo u luku, možda moći staviti na liniju Stena, ali to nije zajamčeno. To je stvarno frustrirajuće", dodala je Lauren.

P&O Ferries, britansko brodsko poduzeće koje upravlja trajektima iz Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva u Irsku i kontinentalnu Europu, je bez upozorenja otpustio 800 djelatnika, ali dio posade je odlučio prkositi naredbama i odbija napustiti svoje brodove u znak protesta. Radnicima je vijest priopćena putem videopoziva. Tvrtka je rekla da je to "teška" odluka, ali da "njihov posao neće moći ostati održiv" bez ovih promjena.

Sindikat RMT je rekao da se članovi posade zamjenjuju jeftinijim inozemnim radnicima. P&O je poručio da njegove usluge neće raditi "sljedećih nekoliko dana", a putnicima je rečeno da koriste druge tvrtke. Službenici privatne zaštitarske firme poslani su na jedan brod koji je usidren u luci Larne u Sjevernoj Irskoj kako bi uklonili osoblje s broda, navodi RMT.
