Analitičari s Wall Streeta procjenjuju da će farmaceutske kompanije Pfizer i Moderna generirati 32 milijarde dolara prihoda od cjepiva protiv Covida-19, i to samo u idućoj godini.
Kako je objavio CNN, u to nije uračunata vrijednost nematerijalne imovine tih dviju tvrtki, odnosno reputacije, koja će narasti zato što su te kompanije pomogle okončati najgoru pandemiju koja je pogodila svijet u zadnjem stoljeću.
Posebno snažan skok tzv. goodwilla evidentan je kod Moderne, biotehnološke tvrtkice za koju je prije ove godine čula tek nekolicina ljudi, a koja je sad nadomak dobivanja dozvole američkog saveznog ureda za lijekove za distribuciju cjepiva protiv pošasti koronavirusa.
Samo Pfizer bi, po projekcijama Morgan Stanleya, iduće godine mogao uprihodovati 19 milijardi dolara od cjepiva protiv Covida-19, povrh 975 milijuna u ovoj godini.
Pfizer će svoj prihod podijeliti s BioNtechom, njemačkom kompanijom s kojom je razvio to cjepivo. Njihovo cjepivo odobreno je u Britaniji, a uskoro bi zeleno svjetlo trebalo dobiti i u SAD-u.
U Morgan Stanleyu procjenjuju da bi Pfizer u 2022. i 2023. mogao ostvariti još 9,3 milijardi dolara prohoda od prodaje tog cjepiva, sve dok ukupno svjetsko stanovništvo ne bude procijepljeno.
I dok cijena dionice Pfizera, moćne američke farmaceutske kompanije, ove godine i nije znatno porasla - svega 12 posto, dionica BioNTecha je uzletjela gotovo 300 posto, podignuvši njegovu tržišnu kapitalizaciju na gotovo 30 milijardi dolara.
S druge, pak, strane, cjepivo koje je izumila Moderna već je transformiralo tu gotovo nepoznatu kompaniju u moćnu farmaceutsku kuću vrijednu 62 milijardi dolara.
Cijena njezinih dionica, naime, katapultirana je uvis ove godine za čak 700 posto, a u Morgan Stanleyu procjenjuju da je polovina tržišne vrijednosti te kompanije vezana za cjepivo protiv Covida.
U Goldman Sachsu procjenjuju da će iduće godine Moderna ostvariti 13,2 milijarde dolara prihoda od prodaje tog cjepiva.
Zastrašujuće su to brojke za jednu kompaniju koja je u 2019. godini imala tek 60 milijuna dolara prihoda i nikad prije nije licencirala proizvod.
"To je epska priča. Povijesno postignuće u razvoju lijeka. Stvoriti novu tehnologiju u tako mladoj tvrtki i imati je gotovu baš u trenutku najgore pandemije u zadnjih sto godina teško je i zamisliti", smatra Alan Carr, analitičar koji pokriva biotehnologiju u Needhamu.
Visoko procijenjeni prihodi za Pfizer i Modernu izazvali su međutim i kritike onih koji gledaju ljudske patnje uzrokovane Covidom-19. Pandemija je dosad u svijetu ubila gotovo 1,6 milijuna ljudi, a samo u SAD-u gotovo 300.000.
Njihovi konkurenti Johnson&Johnson i AstraZeneca, s druge strane, obećali su da će njihova cjepiva, jednom kada budu raspoloživa, tijekom pandemije biti prodavana na neprofitnoj osnovi.
"Potpuno je pogrešno za farmaceutske kompanije poput Pfizera i Moderne da profitiraju, a njihovi izvršni direktori ostvaruju nečuveno osobno bogatstvo od cjepiva protiv Covida, čiji je pronalazak uvelike bio subvencioniran i podupiran od strane američkih poreznih obveznika", smatra Elli Zupnick, glasnogovornik Accountable.US, institucije za nadzor i savjetovanje pacijenata.
Iako Pfizer nije primio novac iz inicijative Trumpove administracije za cjepivo, savezna vlada pristala je platiti 1,95 milijardi dolara za prvih 100 milijuna doza.
Moderna je kapital za razvoj cjepiva potražila na tržištu kapitala, prikupivši 1,3 milijarde dolara kroz prodaju dionica, no dio novca, 955 milijuna dolara, dobila je od američkih vlasti.

Analitičari s Wall Streeta procjenjuju da će farmaceutske kompanije Pfizer i Moderna generirati 32 milijarde dolara prihoda od cjepiva protiv Covida-19, i to samo u idućoj godini.
Kako je objavio CNN, u to nije uračunata vrijednost nematerijalne imovine tih dviju tvrtki, odnosno reputacije, koja će narasti zato što su te kompanije pomogle okončati najgoru pandemiju koja je pogodila svijet u zadnjem stoljeću.
Posebno snažan skok tzv. goodwilla evidentan je kod Moderne, biotehnološke tvrtkice za koju je prije ove godine čula tek nekolicina ljudi, a koja je sad nadomak dobivanja dozvole američkog saveznog ureda za lijekove za distribuciju cjepiva protiv pošasti koronavirusa.
Samo Pfizer bi, po projekcijama Morgan Stanleya, iduće godine mogao uprihodovati 19 milijardi dolara od cjepiva protiv Covida-19, povrh 975 milijuna u ovoj godini.
Pfizer će svoj prihod podijeliti s BioNtechom, njemačkom kompanijom s kojom je razvio to cjepivo. Njihovo cjepivo odobreno je u Britaniji, a uskoro bi zeleno svjetlo trebalo dobiti i u SAD-u.
U Morgan Stanleyu procjenjuju da bi Pfizer u 2022. i 2023. mogao ostvariti još 9,3 milijardi dolara prohoda od prodaje tog cjepiva, sve dok ukupno svjetsko stanovništvo ne bude procijepljeno.
I dok cijena dionice Pfizera, moćne američke farmaceutske kompanije, ove godine i nije znatno porasla - svega 12 posto, dionica BioNTecha je uzletjela gotovo 300 posto, podignuvši njegovu tržišnu kapitalizaciju na gotovo 30 milijardi dolara.
S druge, pak, strane, cjepivo koje je izumila Moderna već je transformiralo tu gotovo nepoznatu kompaniju u moćnu farmaceutsku kuću vrijednu 62 milijardi dolara.
Cijena njezinih dionica, naime, katapultirana je uvis ove godine za čak 700 posto, a u Morgan Stanleyu procjenjuju da je polovina tržišne vrijednosti te kompanije vezana za cjepivo protiv Covida.
U Goldman Sachsu procjenjuju da će iduće godine Moderna ostvariti 13,2 milijarde dolara prihoda od prodaje tog cjepiva.
Zastrašujuće su to brojke za jednu kompaniju koja je u 2019. godini imala tek 60 milijuna dolara prihoda i nikad prije nije licencirala proizvod.
"To je epska priča. Povijesno postignuće u razvoju lijeka. Stvoriti novu tehnologiju u tako mladoj tvrtki i imati je gotovu baš u trenutku najgore pandemije u zadnjih sto godina teško je i zamisliti", smatra Alan Carr, analitičar koji pokriva biotehnologiju u Needhamu.
Visoko procijenjeni prihodi za Pfizer i Modernu izazvali su međutim i kritike onih koji gledaju ljudske patnje uzrokovane Covidom-19. Pandemija je dosad u svijetu ubila gotovo 1,6 milijuna ljudi, a samo u SAD-u gotovo 300.000.
Njihovi konkurenti Johnson&Johnson i AstraZeneca, s druge strane, obećali su da će njihova cjepiva, jednom kada budu raspoloživa, tijekom pandemije biti prodavana na neprofitnoj osnovi.
"Potpuno je pogrešno za farmaceutske kompanije poput Pfizera i Moderne da profitiraju, a njihovi izvršni direktori ostvaruju nečuveno osobno bogatstvo od cjepiva protiv Covida, čiji je pronalazak uvelike bio subvencioniran i podupiran od strane američkih poreznih obveznika", smatra Elli Zupnick, glasnogovornik Accountable.US, institucije za nadzor i savjetovanje pacijenata.
Iako Pfizer nije primio novac iz inicijative Trumpove administracije za cjepivo, savezna vlada pristala je platiti 1,95 milijardi dolara za prvih 100 milijuna doza.
Moderna je kapital za razvoj cjepiva potražila na tržištu kapitala, prikupivši 1,3 milijarde dolara kroz prodaju dionica, no dio novca, 955 milijuna dolara, dobila je od američkih vlasti.
