Streaming servisi nastavljaju zagrijavanje za Halloween, a u nedostatku neke svoje "Noći vještica", Amazon je posegnuo u nešto bližu hororsku prošlost.

Naime, Amazon je iskopao nekoć popularni film "Znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" i pretvorio ga u seriju koja je imala premijeru 15. listopada, kad su puštene prve četiri od ukupno osam epizoda, nakon čega ostale slijede jednom tjedno.

Triler za tinejdžere

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" je, znači, drugi kinohit Freddieja Prinzea Jr.-a s kraja devedesetih koji je dobio streamingovski tretman nakon što je "She's All That" promijenio spol u filmu za Netflix ("He's All That"). Srećom, serija "Znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" nije tako grozna kao "On je sve to", ali nije ni nešto posebno, sudeći prema prve četiri epizode.

Može se neobavezno gledati za ubijanje vremena (prikladan izraz za horor triler), no nećete ništa izgubiti ako je i preskočite, koliko god se trudi da ne znate što je radila prošlog ljeta.

"Mislila sam da znam, bila sam u krivu", pripovijeda protagonistica Alison (solidna Madison Iseman; "Jumanji: Dobrodošli u džunglu") na početku prve epizode serije koja forsira "twistove" i u pogledu identiteta žrtve "hit&run" nesreće, kamoli ubojice.

Osnovna premisa je ista kao u filmu, uzgred inspirirana romanom spisateljice Lois Duncan iz 1973. godine. Mladići i djevojke naći će se na nišanu ubojice pripravnog da ih vreba i kažnjava za ono što su napravili prošlog ljeta – nehotično udarili nekoga autom, sakrili tijelo i zakopali tajnu duboko u sebi.

Međutim, dok je filmski "I Know What You Did Last Summer" bio "slasher" u tradiciji "Noći vještica", snimljen na valu megahita "Vrisak", serijski je horor za milenijalsku "young adult" generaciju serija kao što su "Outer Banks" i "Panic" kojemu je bitnije priču ogrnuti adolescentskom melodramom/sapunicom s ljubavnim trokutima itd., nego (barem zasad) ubojicu ušuškati u ribarsku kabanicu s kapuljačom kao zaštitni znak njegova prethodnika.

To je djelomično imalo smisla budući da je roman bio više triler za tinejdžere, tj. mlade odrasle, nego horor. No, na taj način, serija je tonalno raštrkana i otupljuje oštricu horora, što je šteta s obzirom da je nasilje prilično eksplicitno i grafički prikazano, čak i eksplicitnije i grafičkije spram filma protiv kojeg se, ironično, Duncan bunila, ocijenivši ga prenasilnim.

Čemu ti pusti vriskovi, Neve Campbell?

Zašto onda uopće "hororizacija" romana u serijskoj verziji "Znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" kreatorice Sare Goodman ako je već htjela biti bliža Duncaničinoj viziji, osim prozirnog kapitaliziranja na nadolazećem Halloweenu, prazniku horor filmova i serija?

Tako, izjava "Čemu ti pusti vriskovi, Neve Campbell?", upućena ženskom liku kad vrisne, prilično je štosna, ali bolje bi pristajala filmu "I Know What You Did Last Summer" nego seriji koja je smrtno ozbiljna i lišena faktora zabave kakvog "slasheri" znaju ponuditi. 

Stoga, gledatelj može s vremenom osjetiti razvlačenje priče i zamor materijala koji ne trpi preveliku minutažu. Prve četiri epizode serije traju oko tri sata, dakle koliko je trajao izvorni film Jima Gillespieja i njegov nastavak "Još uvijek znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" Dannyja Cannona.

Filmovi nisu bili vrhunski primjerci horora, ali zbivanja su u njima bila nemjerljivo dinamičnija i napetija, a i likovi zanimljiviji u tumačenju zvijezda u usponu Prinzea, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryana Phillipea i Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Trajanje od 90-ak minuta je optimalno za horor ili maksimalno dva sata, za sve preko iza kamere treba stati jedan William Friedkin (klasik "Istjerivač đavola"), Ari Aster (friški kult film "Festival straha") ili Mike Flanagan (znatno kvalitetnije novije serije "The Haunting Of Hill House" i "Midight Mass").

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" nema takav kalibar autora. Procijenite sami želite li stvarno znati što je radila prošlog ljeta.

Streaming servisi nastavljaju zagrijavanje za Halloween, a u nedostatku neke svoje "Noći vještica", Amazon je posegnuo u nešto bližu hororsku prošlost.

Naime, Amazon je iskopao nekoć popularni film "Znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" i pretvorio ga u seriju koja je imala premijeru 15. listopada, kad su puštene prve četiri od ukupno osam epizoda, nakon čega ostale slijede jednom tjedno.

Triler za tinejdžere

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" je, znači, drugi kinohit Freddieja Prinzea Jr.-a s kraja devedesetih koji je dobio streamingovski tretman nakon što je "She's All That" promijenio spol u filmu za Netflix ("He's All That"). Srećom, serija "Znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" nije tako grozna kao "On je sve to", ali nije ni nešto posebno, sudeći prema prve četiri epizode.

Može se neobavezno gledati za ubijanje vremena (prikladan izraz za horor triler), no nećete ništa izgubiti ako je i preskočite, koliko god se trudi da ne znate što je radila prošlog ljeta.

"Mislila sam da znam, bila sam u krivu", pripovijeda protagonistica Alison (solidna Madison Iseman; "Jumanji: Dobrodošli u džunglu") na početku prve epizode serije koja forsira "twistove" i u pogledu identiteta žrtve "hit&run" nesreće, kamoli ubojice.

Osnovna premisa je ista kao u filmu, uzgred inspirirana romanom spisateljice Lois Duncan iz 1973. godine. Mladići i djevojke naći će se na nišanu ubojice pripravnog da ih vreba i kažnjava za ono što su napravili prošlog ljeta – nehotično udarili nekoga autom, sakrili tijelo i zakopali tajnu duboko u sebi.

Međutim, dok je filmski "I Know What You Did Last Summer" bio "slasher" u tradiciji "Noći vještica", snimljen na valu megahita "Vrisak", serijski je horor za milenijalsku "young adult" generaciju serija kao što su "Outer Banks" i "Panic" kojemu je bitnije priču ogrnuti adolescentskom melodramom/sapunicom s ljubavnim trokutima itd., nego (barem zasad) ubojicu ušuškati u ribarsku kabanicu s kapuljačom kao zaštitni znak njegova prethodnika.

To je djelomično imalo smisla budući da je roman bio više triler za tinejdžere, tj. mlade odrasle, nego horor. No, na taj način, serija je tonalno raštrkana i otupljuje oštricu horora, što je šteta s obzirom da je nasilje prilično eksplicitno i grafički prikazano, čak i eksplicitnije i grafičkije spram filma protiv kojeg se, ironično, Duncan bunila, ocijenivši ga prenasilnim.

Čemu ti pusti vriskovi, Neve Campbell?

Zašto onda uopće "hororizacija" romana u serijskoj verziji "Znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" kreatorice Sare Goodman ako je već htjela biti bliža Duncaničinoj viziji, osim prozirnog kapitaliziranja na nadolazećem Halloweenu, prazniku horor filmova i serija?

Tako, izjava "Čemu ti pusti vriskovi, Neve Campbell?", upućena ženskom liku kad vrisne, prilično je štosna, ali bolje bi pristajala filmu "I Know What You Did Last Summer" nego seriji koja je smrtno ozbiljna i lišena faktora zabave kakvog "slasheri" znaju ponuditi. 

Stoga, gledatelj može s vremenom osjetiti razvlačenje priče i zamor materijala koji ne trpi preveliku minutažu. Prve četiri epizode serije traju oko tri sata, dakle koliko je trajao izvorni film Jima Gillespieja i njegov nastavak "Još uvijek znam što si radila prošlog ljeta" Dannyja Cannona.

Filmovi nisu bili vrhunski primjerci horora, ali zbivanja su u njima bila nemjerljivo dinamičnija i napetija, a i likovi zanimljiviji u tumačenju zvijezda u usponu Prinzea, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryana Phillipea i Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Trajanje od 90-ak minuta je optimalno za horor ili maksimalno dva sata, za sve preko iza kamere treba stati jedan William Friedkin (klasik "Istjerivač đavola"), Ari Aster (friški kult film "Festival straha") ili Mike Flanagan (znatno kvalitetnije novije serije "The Haunting Of Hill House" i "Midight Mass").

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" nema takav kalibar autora. Procijenite sami želite li stvarno znati što je radila prošlog ljeta.
