Mogla bi ovo postati jedna lijepa tradicija da godina počinje ili završava dragom i nostalgičnom karate serijom. Prošla godina je 1. siječnja počela s "Cobra Kai III ", a završila 31. prosinca s "Cobra Kai IV".
Premijera četvrte sezone na Netflixu dogodila se, dakle, upravo na Silvestrovo. Simbolično, s obzirom na to da se "Cobra Kai" od prve sezone kune u Sylvestera Stallonea
Najbolje scene prve sezone dugovale su poetici "Rockyja IV " i "Creeda ", a "Cobra Kai II ", iako nije ispao "Creed II", dotaknuo se Stalloneova kulta "Over The Top", dok su u "CK III" glavni akteri, nekadašnji rivali Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio ) i Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka ), bili nazvani "Tango i Cash ".
"Cobra Kai IV" se, pak, referira na "Rockyja III". Treći dio boksačkog serijala spomene Johnnyjev pulen Miguel (Xolo Maridueña ) nakon što se on nećka oko udruživanja s Danielom protiv Johna Kreesea (Martin Kove ) i njegovih "Cobra Kai" karataša za nadolazeći borilački turnir.
Upravo Miguel podsjeća da se Balboa ujedinio s oponentom iz prvog "Rockyja " Apollom Creedom da pobijedi Clubbera Langa. Ako su se mogli udružiti oni, zašto ne bi i Johnny i Daniel.
I hoće kad Kreese (i serija) iz naftalina izvuče njegova ratnog suborca i "cobrakaijevca" Terryja Silvera (Thomas Ian Griffith ), negativca "Karate Kida III" koji je terorizirao Daniela, što danas pravda ovisnošću o kokainu.
"Rocky III" + "Karate Kid III" = "Cobra Kai IV". Četvrta sezona hit-serije ne bježi od utjecaja filmova osamdesetih pa će se tako u jednoj sceni, u "drive-in", kinu gledati Van Dammeov

Srećom, bježi od pretjerane sapuničastosti najslabije druge sezone i znatno je umjerenija u tom pogledu, premda zateže odnose i kad treba i kad ne treba samo da se nešto među likovima događa ili odgađa.
Tako, kad se Johnny i Daniel napokon ujedine, na što čekamo svake sezone, te spoje treninge "Eagle Fang" i "Miyagi-do" karatea, ubrzo će se razići kad se LaRusso mentorski zbliži s Miguelom da bi ponovno sjedinjenje visjelo u zraku.
S druge strane, Danielovoj kćeri Sam (Mary Mouser ) počne se sviđati Lawrenceov napadački karate spram očeva samoobrambenog i meditativnog "wax-on/wax-off" pristupa.
Miguel i Sam još uvijek gaje rivalstvo s Johnnyjevim sinom Robbyjem i karatašicom Tory (Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List ), a tu je i novi klinac Kenny (Dallas Dupree Young ) prema kojemu se kao "bully" ponaša Anthony LaRusso (Griffin Santopietro ), zbog čega će ovaj pristupiti "Cobra Kai" ekipi.
Pa ipak, beskrajni "unutarnji" konflikti i "vanjska" rivalstva koja se prenose s generacije na generaciju načelno su dobro postavljeni u/među likovima.
U likovima s ljudskim nijansama sive prelama se dobro i zlo ili manje dobro, pa kad dođe do turnira gledatelj više ne zna za koga bi navijao koliko su ulozi akcijsko-dramski povišeni.
Turnir je prilično uzbudljiv i vidljivo je da su glumci sve bolji u karateu kako serija ide dalje. Serija je također sve bolja ili solidnija, blizu smeđeg pojasa, unatoč nekim manama. Sezona IV je najbolja iza prve, ostavljajući vrata "dojoa" otvorenima za "Cobra Kai V".

Mogla bi ovo postati jedna lijepa tradicija da godina počinje ili završava dragom i nostalgičnom karate serijom. Prošla godina je 1. siječnja počela s "Cobra Kai III ", a završila 31. prosinca s "Cobra Kai IV".
Premijera četvrte sezone na Netflixu dogodila se, dakle, upravo na Silvestrovo. Simbolično, s obzirom na to da se "Cobra Kai" od prve sezone kune u Sylvestera Stallonea
Najbolje scene prve sezone dugovale su poetici "Rockyja IV " i "Creeda ", a "Cobra Kai II ", iako nije ispao "Creed II", dotaknuo se Stalloneova kulta "Over The Top", dok su u "CK III" glavni akteri, nekadašnji rivali Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio ) i Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka ), bili nazvani "Tango i Cash ".
"Cobra Kai IV" se, pak, referira na "Rockyja III". Treći dio boksačkog serijala spomene Johnnyjev pulen Miguel (Xolo Maridueña ) nakon što se on nećka oko udruživanja s Danielom protiv Johna Kreesea (Martin Kove ) i njegovih "Cobra Kai" karataša za nadolazeći borilački turnir.
Upravo Miguel podsjeća da se Balboa ujedinio s oponentom iz prvog "Rockyja " Apollom Creedom da pobijedi Clubbera Langa. Ako su se mogli udružiti oni, zašto ne bi i Johnny i Daniel.
I hoće kad Kreese (i serija) iz naftalina izvuče njegova ratnog suborca i "cobrakaijevca" Terryja Silvera (Thomas Ian Griffith ), negativca "Karate Kida III" koji je terorizirao Daniela, što danas pravda ovisnošću o kokainu.
"Rocky III" + "Karate Kid III" = "Cobra Kai IV". Četvrta sezona hit-serije ne bježi od utjecaja filmova osamdesetih pa će se tako u jednoj sceni, u "drive-in", kinu gledati Van Dammeov

Srećom, bježi od pretjerane sapuničastosti najslabije druge sezone i znatno je umjerenija u tom pogledu, premda zateže odnose i kad treba i kad ne treba samo da se nešto među likovima događa ili odgađa.
Tako, kad se Johnny i Daniel napokon ujedine, na što čekamo svake sezone, te spoje treninge "Eagle Fang" i "Miyagi-do" karatea, ubrzo će se razići kad se LaRusso mentorski zbliži s Miguelom da bi ponovno sjedinjenje visjelo u zraku.
S druge strane, Danielovoj kćeri Sam (Mary Mouser ) počne se sviđati Lawrenceov napadački karate spram očeva samoobrambenog i meditativnog "wax-on/wax-off" pristupa.
Miguel i Sam još uvijek gaje rivalstvo s Johnnyjevim sinom Robbyjem i karatašicom Tory (Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List ), a tu je i novi klinac Kenny (Dallas Dupree Young ) prema kojemu se kao "bully" ponaša Anthony LaRusso (Griffin Santopietro ), zbog čega će ovaj pristupiti "Cobra Kai" ekipi.
Pa ipak, beskrajni "unutarnji" konflikti i "vanjska" rivalstva koja se prenose s generacije na generaciju načelno su dobro postavljeni u/među likovima.
U likovima s ljudskim nijansama sive prelama se dobro i zlo ili manje dobro, pa kad dođe do turnira gledatelj više ne zna za koga bi navijao koliko su ulozi akcijsko-dramski povišeni.
Turnir je prilično uzbudljiv i vidljivo je da su glumci sve bolji u karateu kako serija ide dalje. Serija je također sve bolja ili solidnija, blizu smeđeg pojasa, unatoč nekim manama. Sezona IV je najbolja iza prve, ostavljajući vrata "dojoa" otvorenima za "Cobra Kai V".
