Prva epizoda Showtimeove misteriozne desetodijelne serije "Yellowjackets" izašla je 14. studenog, ali jednotjedni ritam prikazivanja doveo je do toga da je posljednja emitirana tek neki dan, 16. siječnja.

"Yellowjackets" također traži postepeno gledanje, radije nego "binge" zbog izdašne minutaže (svaka epizoda po sat vremena), a s "Archive 81" je veže kombinacija misterije i horora, kao i radnja koja se odvija na dva vremenska kolosijeka, tijekom devedesetih i u današnjem vremenu.

U devedesetima, točnije 1996. pratimo srednjoškolski ženski tim nogometašica nazvan "Yellowjackts", što se može odnositi i na vrstu grabežljivih osa, ne samo žute jakne kluba.

Upoznajemo likove kao što su Jackie, Shauna, Taissa, Natalie i Misty (Ella Purnell, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty), a godinama kasnije, 2021., slijedimo njihove odrasle verzije (neke od njih glume Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis i Christina Ricci) kako se hrvaju s traumom prošlosti.

Trauma prošlosti je užasna zrakoplovna nesreća i preživljavanje u divljini koje, sudeći po izvanrednoj prvoj epizodi, sugerira kombinaciju "Gospodara muha", "Izgubljenih" i "Pogrešnog skretanja".

Redateljica prve epizode Karyn Kusama ("Uništiteljica") ima iskustva s hororima ("Pozivnica") i to se vidi. Serija se otvara paničnim bijegom neke bosonoge djevojke, pretpostavljivo članice tima, kroz snijegom prekrivenu šumu, dok nečiji krikovi odzvanjaju kadrom.

Netko (ili nešto) je očito lovi, a nesretnica će izgubiti tlo pod nogama i pasti na šiljke, nakon čega vidimo grupu s maskama. Jesu li to neki "domoroci" ili članovi njezina tima koji su u divljini probudili nešto divlje u sebi u "Lord Of The Flies" stilu?

Prije ovo drugo, ali intriga je svejedno postavljena dok Kusama žonglira između horora, tinejdžerske i psihološke drame, "Gospodara muha" i gospodarica osa.

Problem je što nijedna od narednih devet epizoda ne doseže izvrsnost prve, možda i zato što ih nije režirala Kusama, ostavši uključena u seriju samo kao izvršna producentica, a veliko je i razočaranje što uvodna "teaser" scena baš i neće dobiti svoje "prošireno" izdanje, unatoč naznakama da će stvari nakon avionske nesreće završiti loše na maksimalno loš način.

Odnosno, moguće da će ga dobiti tek u drugoj sezoni. Pa ipak, kao i u slučaju "Arhiva 81", ovo je intrigantan komad televizije koji može "navući" gledatelja i prati se sa zanimanjem unatoč neujednačenostima i opsežnom trajanju.

Neujednačenosti se tiču žanrova/tonova i, čak više, vremena radnje s obzirom da 1996. i 2021. nisu nivelirane podjednako dobro, ali serija uspijeva držati ritam i održati se do zadnje epizode.

Osnovna nit drame o odrastanju i odraslom sagledavanju trauma iz mladosti je solidno sprovedena, za razliku od nekih intruzija nadnaravnog horora koji se u prošlosti isprepleće s onim "survival" vrste, tipa da jedna od cura "vidi stvari", a u sadašnjosti misterija raste kad preživjelim djevojkama nepoznata prijetnja radi o glavi.

Dramski kontrast mladih i njihovih odraslih verzija je dobar zbog dobrih glumica. Lynskey je standardno uvjerljiva, a Lewis i Ricci nadoknađuju što nisu dobile priliku dijeliti kadar u devedesetima kad su bile na vrhuncu popularnosti. Samo zbog njihovih zajedničkih scena vrijedi vidjeti "Yellowjackets".

Prva epizoda Showtimeove misteriozne desetodijelne serije "Yellowjackets" izašla je 14. studenog, ali jednotjedni ritam prikazivanja doveo je do toga da je posljednja emitirana tek neki dan, 16. siječnja.

"Yellowjackets" također traži postepeno gledanje, radije nego "binge" zbog izdašne minutaže (svaka epizoda po sat vremena), a s "Archive 81" je veže kombinacija misterije i horora, kao i radnja koja se odvija na dva vremenska kolosijeka, tijekom devedesetih i u današnjem vremenu.

U devedesetima, točnije 1996. pratimo srednjoškolski ženski tim nogometašica nazvan "Yellowjackts", što se može odnositi i na vrstu grabežljivih osa, ne samo žute jakne kluba.

Upoznajemo likove kao što su Jackie, Shauna, Taissa, Natalie i Misty (Ella Purnell, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty), a godinama kasnije, 2021., slijedimo njihove odrasle verzije (neke od njih glume Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis i Christina Ricci) kako se hrvaju s traumom prošlosti.

Trauma prošlosti je užasna zrakoplovna nesreća i preživljavanje u divljini koje, sudeći po izvanrednoj prvoj epizodi, sugerira kombinaciju "Gospodara muha", "Izgubljenih" i "Pogrešnog skretanja".

Redateljica prve epizode Karyn Kusama ("Uništiteljica") ima iskustva s hororima ("Pozivnica") i to se vidi. Serija se otvara paničnim bijegom neke bosonoge djevojke, pretpostavljivo članice tima, kroz snijegom prekrivenu šumu, dok nečiji krikovi odzvanjaju kadrom.

Netko (ili nešto) je očito lovi, a nesretnica će izgubiti tlo pod nogama i pasti na šiljke, nakon čega vidimo grupu s maskama. Jesu li to neki "domoroci" ili članovi njezina tima koji su u divljini probudili nešto divlje u sebi u "Lord Of The Flies" stilu?

Prije ovo drugo, ali intriga je svejedno postavljena dok Kusama žonglira između horora, tinejdžerske i psihološke drame, "Gospodara muha" i gospodarica osa.

Problem je što nijedna od narednih devet epizoda ne doseže izvrsnost prve, možda i zato što ih nije režirala Kusama, ostavši uključena u seriju samo kao izvršna producentica, a veliko je i razočaranje što uvodna "teaser" scena baš i neće dobiti svoje "prošireno" izdanje, unatoč naznakama da će stvari nakon avionske nesreće završiti loše na maksimalno loš način.

Odnosno, moguće da će ga dobiti tek u drugoj sezoni. Pa ipak, kao i u slučaju "Arhiva 81", ovo je intrigantan komad televizije koji može "navući" gledatelja i prati se sa zanimanjem unatoč neujednačenostima i opsežnom trajanju.

Neujednačenosti se tiču žanrova/tonova i, čak više, vremena radnje s obzirom da 1996. i 2021. nisu nivelirane podjednako dobro, ali serija uspijeva držati ritam i održati se do zadnje epizode.

Osnovna nit drame o odrastanju i odraslom sagledavanju trauma iz mladosti je solidno sprovedena, za razliku od nekih intruzija nadnaravnog horora koji se u prošlosti isprepleće s onim "survival" vrste, tipa da jedna od cura "vidi stvari", a u sadašnjosti misterija raste kad preživjelim djevojkama nepoznata prijetnja radi o glavi.

Dramski kontrast mladih i njihovih odraslih verzija je dobar zbog dobrih glumica. Lynskey je standardno uvjerljiva, a Lewis i Ricci nadoknađuju što nisu dobile priliku dijeliti kadar u devedesetima kad su bile na vrhuncu popularnosti. Samo zbog njihovih zajedničkih scena vrijedi vidjeti "Yellowjackets".
