Otkako je 18.rujna 1991. pogođena u kupolu agresorskom granatom, šibenska katedrala prošla je kroz fazu obnove od ratnih šteta i sanacije kupole, potom od 2014. obnovom njene unutrašnjosti. Ta je faza završena 2016. u godini ustoličenje novog šibenskog biskupa mons. Tomislava Rogića.

Nakon duže stanke radovi će se ovih dana nastaviti s unutarnje strane nad glavnim portalom i postavljanjem nove skele uzduž lađe crkve radi sanacije i čišćenja kamene plastike i drugih zahvata.

Radove vodi, kako nam je rekao don Krešo Mateša, kanonik i župnik Župe sv.Jakova apostola, Hrvatski konzervatorski zavod s kooperantima. Vodička tvrtka Keran company postavit će nove visoke skele na kojima će u sanacijama raditi stručnjaci specijalizirani za visoke gradnje.

Bit će to onako kao 2015. kad se radilo na skelema, visoko na prezbiteriju, sve do unutarnjeg svoda kupole, kad smo se jednom s don Krešom ondje i uspeli. Bio je to poseban doživljaj.

Te godine za svetkovine blagdana sv, Mihovila zaštitnika grada i biskupije Šibenske na svečanoj misi bio je i kardinal Josip Bozanić. Svećenici su misu služili okruženi mrežom cijevi što su se dizale visoko. To nije smetalo ni vjerničkome puku koji je ispunio katedralu do posljednjega mjesta.

Za sadašnje radove Ministarstvo kulture RH za tu je svrhu odobrilo prvih 300 tisuća kuna. Ostali dio troškova osigurat će šibenska biskupija.

I kad sve završi, vjeruje se u idućoj 2022. godini, šibenska prvostolnica zasjat će puni sjajem, uz punu potvrdu kao spomenik svjetske kulturne baštine pod okriljem UNESCA.

Taj iznimni sakralni objekt i spomenik kulture donio je gradu Šibeniku slavu u graditeljstvu sa znamenitim gotičkim majstorom Jurjem Dalmatincem, graditeljem apsida i Krstionice i renesansnim Nikolom Firentincem, graditeljem kupole i kakvom naširoko u svijetu nema premca.

Gradnje je trajala punih 105 godina, od 1431. do 1536. kad je katedrala bila posvećena. Za njenu gradnju posebno se zauzimao šibenski biskup i humanist Juraj Šižgorić čije je počivalište u sarkofagu u katedrali podno prezbiterija.
Nikola Firentinac gradio je kupolu katedrale na 33 metra visine nad apsidama crkve sustavom kamenih rebrastih ploča bez ikakva veziva, jedinstvenim načinom do tad poznatim u Europi. Samo svojim sklopom i oblikom ona sliči kupoli čuvene bazilike Santa Maria del fiore u Firenci, koja je obojene i s ornamentikom.

Otkako je 18.rujna 1991. pogođena u kupolu agresorskom granatom, šibenska katedrala prošla je kroz fazu obnove od ratnih šteta i sanacije kupole, potom od 2014. obnovom njene unutrašnjosti. Ta je faza završena 2016. u godini ustoličenje novog šibenskog biskupa mons. Tomislava Rogića.

Nakon duže stanke radovi će se ovih dana nastaviti s unutarnje strane nad glavnim portalom i postavljanjem nove skele uzduž lađe crkve radi sanacije i čišćenja kamene plastike i drugih zahvata.

Radove vodi, kako nam je rekao don Krešo Mateša, kanonik i župnik Župe sv.Jakova apostola, Hrvatski konzervatorski zavod s kooperantima. Vodička tvrtka Keran company postavit će nove visoke skele na kojima će u sanacijama raditi stručnjaci specijalizirani za visoke gradnje.

Bit će to onako kao 2015. kad se radilo na skelema, visoko na prezbiteriju, sve do unutarnjeg svoda kupole, kad smo se jednom s don Krešom ondje i uspeli. Bio je to poseban doživljaj.

Te godine za svetkovine blagdana sv, Mihovila zaštitnika grada i biskupije Šibenske na svečanoj misi bio je i kardinal Josip Bozanić. Svećenici su misu služili okruženi mrežom cijevi što su se dizale visoko. To nije smetalo ni vjerničkome puku koji je ispunio katedralu do posljednjega mjesta.

Za sadašnje radove Ministarstvo kulture RH za tu je svrhu odobrilo prvih 300 tisuća kuna. Ostali dio troškova osigurat će šibenska biskupija.

I kad sve završi, vjeruje se u idućoj 2022. godini, šibenska prvostolnica zasjat će puni sjajem, uz punu potvrdu kao spomenik svjetske kulturne baštine pod okriljem UNESCA.

Taj iznimni sakralni objekt i spomenik kulture donio je gradu Šibeniku slavu u graditeljstvu sa znamenitim gotičkim majstorom Jurjem Dalmatincem, graditeljem apsida i Krstionice i renesansnim Nikolom Firentincem, graditeljem kupole i kakvom naširoko u svijetu nema premca.

Gradnje je trajala punih 105 godina, od 1431. do 1536. kad je katedrala bila posvećena. Za njenu gradnju posebno se zauzimao šibenski biskup i humanist Juraj Šižgorić čije je počivalište u sarkofagu u katedrali podno prezbiterija.
Nikola Firentinac gradio je kupolu katedrale na 33 metra visine nad apsidama crkve sustavom kamenih rebrastih ploča bez ikakva veziva, jedinstvenim načinom do tad poznatim u Europi. Samo svojim sklopom i oblikom ona sliči kupoli čuvene bazilike Santa Maria del fiore u Firenci, koja je obojene i s ornamentikom.

Otkako je 18.rujna 1991. pogođena u kupolu agresorskom granatom, šibenska katedrala prošla je kroz fazu obnove od ratnih šteta i sanacije kupole, potom od 2014. obnovom njene unutrašnjosti. Ta je faza završena 2016. u godini ustoličenje novog šibenskog biskupa mons. Tomislava Rogića.

Nakon duže stanke radovi će se ovih dana nastaviti s unutarnje strane nad glavnim portalom i postavljanjem nove skele uzduž lađe crkve radi sanacije i čišćenja kamene plastike i drugih zahvata.

Radove vodi, kako nam je rekao don Krešo Mateša, kanonik i župnik Župe sv.Jakova apostola, Hrvatski konzervatorski zavod s kooperantima. Vodička tvrtka Keran company postavit će nove visoke skele na kojima će u sanacijama raditi stručnjaci specijalizirani za visoke gradnje.

Bit će to onako kao 2015. kad se radilo na skelema, visoko na prezbiteriju, sve do unutarnjeg svoda kupole, kad smo se jednom s don Krešom ondje i uspeli. Bio je to poseban doživljaj.

Te godine za svetkovine blagdana sv, Mihovila zaštitnika grada i biskupije Šibenske na svečanoj misi bio je i kardinal Josip Bozanić. Svećenici su misu služili okruženi mrežom cijevi što su se dizale visoko. To nije smetalo ni vjerničkome puku koji je ispunio katedralu do posljednjega mjesta.

Za sadašnje radove Ministarstvo kulture RH za tu je svrhu odobrilo prvih 300 tisuća kuna. Ostali dio troškova osigurat će šibenska biskupija.

I kad sve završi, vjeruje se u idućoj 2022. godini, šibenska prvostolnica zasjat će puni sjajem, uz punu potvrdu kao spomenik svjetske kulturne baštine pod okriljem UNESCA.

Taj iznimni sakralni objekt i spomenik kulture donio je gradu Šibeniku slavu u graditeljstvu sa znamenitim gotičkim majstorom Jurjem Dalmatincem, graditeljem apsida i Krstionice i renesansnim Nikolom Firentincem, graditeljem kupole i kakvom naširoko u svijetu nema premca.
