Tako hladan, a opet čaroban, prosinac je mjesec koji nam unatoč niskim temperaturama pruža mnogo topline. Bila stvarna božićna bajka sa sobovima i "djedicom” koji na saonicama dijeli darove zapakirane finom crveno-zlatnom vrpcom ili ne, u ovo doba godine volimo maštom odlutati u takve priče.
I tako iz godine u godinu iščekujemo Badnju večer i božićni ručak u krugu naših najmilijih, a to razdoblje postalo je nezamislivo bez adventskih vijenaca sa svijećama na našim stolovima ili visećim na vratima.

A kakva se topla priča krije iza običaja oko adventskog vijenca?
Adventski vijenac korijene vuče iz 1838. godine, a osmislio ga je evangelički svećenik Johann Hinrich Wichern u domu za siromašnu djecu u Hamburgu.
U jednoj staroj trošnoj kući, naime, okupio je napuštenu djecu s ulice i stvorio im dom. Da bi im unio toplinu u dom i otvorio njihova srca u vrijeme iščekivanja Božića, osmislio je paljenje svijeća uz molitvu.

Na veliki drveni vijenac postavljao je devetnaest malih i četiri velike svijeće koje su označavale nedjelje prije Božića. Paljenje svijeća slavili su adventskim pjesmama, pripremajući tako djecu na dolazak djeteta koje mir s neba donosi svima.
Počinju ga plesti
Oko 1851. godine neke nove generacije toga doma vijenac počinju ukrašavati zimzelenim grančicama, a s vremenom vijenac prestaje biti drveni, počinju ga plesti od zimzelenoga granja.
Nije dugo trebalo da se taj običaj proširi i izvan te trošne kuće te uđe u domove obitelji diljem Njemačke, a potom ostalih europskih zemalja, uključujući i Hrvatsku.

Neizostavan dio božićne tradicije doživljavao je promjene, pa krajem 19. stoljeća kreće izrada vijenaca s četiri svijeće, koje označavaju četiri nedjelje došašća. Prvi adventski vijenac u katoličkoj crkvi pojavio se 1925. u Kölnu.
Vijenac doživljava svoje promjene kroz povijest, postaje sve okićeniji i raskošniji. Natječu se u njegovoj izradi.

No, nije zlato sve što sja. Poruka vijenca, bio on raskošan ili skroman, je priprema za dolazak Spasitelja svijeta.
Samo smo ljudi, pa ne možemo odoljeti kićenim čarobnim krugovima, mijenjamo boje, materijale, svijeće, stavljamo nakit, anđele.
Oslikavamo ga, objavljujemo na društvenim mrežama, pa tada taj vijenac pobijedi čak i objave skupih odjevnih komada. Apsolutni je pobjednik mjeseca.

Tako hladan, a opet čaroban, prosinac je mjesec koji nam unatoč niskim temperaturama pruža mnogo topline. Bila stvarna božićna bajka sa sobovima i "djedicom” koji na saonicama dijeli darove zapakirane finom crveno-zlatnom vrpcom ili ne, u ovo doba godine volimo maštom odlutati u takve priče.
I tako iz godine u godinu iščekujemo Badnju večer i božićni ručak u krugu naših najmilijih, a to razdoblje postalo je nezamislivo bez adventskih vijenaca sa svijećama na našim stolovima ili visećim na vratima.

A kakva se topla priča krije iza običaja oko adventskog vijenca?
Adventski vijenac korijene vuče iz 1838. godine, a osmislio ga je evangelički svećenik Johann Hinrich Wichern u domu za siromašnu djecu u Hamburgu.
U jednoj staroj trošnoj kući, naime, okupio je napuštenu djecu s ulice i stvorio im dom. Da bi im unio toplinu u dom i otvorio njihova srca u vrijeme iščekivanja Božića, osmislio je paljenje svijeća uz molitvu.

Na veliki drveni vijenac postavljao je devetnaest malih i četiri velike svijeće koje su označavale nedjelje prije Božića. Paljenje svijeća slavili su adventskim pjesmama, pripremajući tako djecu na dolazak djeteta koje mir s neba donosi svima.
Počinju ga plesti
Oko 1851. godine neke nove generacije toga doma vijenac počinju ukrašavati zimzelenim grančicama, a s vremenom vijenac prestaje biti drveni, počinju ga plesti od zimzelenoga granja.
Nije dugo trebalo da se taj običaj proširi i izvan te trošne kuće te uđe u domove obitelji diljem Njemačke, a potom ostalih europskih zemalja, uključujući i Hrvatsku.

Neizostavan dio božićne tradicije doživljavao je promjene, pa krajem 19. stoljeća kreće izrada vijenaca s četiri svijeće, koje označavaju četiri nedjelje došašća. Prvi adventski vijenac u katoličkoj crkvi pojavio se 1925. u Kölnu.
Vijenac doživljava svoje promjene kroz povijest, postaje sve okićeniji i raskošniji. Natječu se u njegovoj izradi.

No, nije zlato sve što sja. Poruka vijenca, bio on raskošan ili skroman, je priprema za dolazak Spasitelja svijeta.
Samo smo ljudi, pa ne možemo odoljeti kićenim čarobnim krugovima, mijenjamo boje, materijale, svijeće, stavljamo nakit, anđele.
Oslikavamo ga, objavljujemo na društvenim mrežama, pa tada taj vijenac pobijedi čak i objave skupih odjevnih komada. Apsolutni je pobjednik mjeseca.
