Kasnije u ovom stoljeću slatka voda i nastanjivo zemljište bit će najdragocjenija roba. Gradovi će biti prenaseljeni, ruralna područja polako napuštena, a planirana je izrada novih naselja u svemiru. AI sa sposobnošću svijesti počet će zamjenjivati ljudski rad u najrazorenijim mjestima područja Zemlje...

Upravo ovim riječima otvara se futuristička SF drama "Foe", koja je nakon jesenske festivalske distribucije početkom ove godine osvanula na streaming servisu Amazon Prime Video. "Foe" je smješten u 2065. godinu i također je, poput "Kitchena", jedan od onih manjih futurističkih filmova, fokusiran na premisu i likove umjesto ono vizualno.

Jedno vozilo bez vozača i nekoliko letjelica takoreći su najveća znanstvena fantastika u kadru filma redatelja Gartha Davisa ("Lav", "Marija Magdalena") koji je i koscenarist zajedno s Iainom Reidom, autorom istoimena romana iz 2018. godine. Ustvari, netko bi mogao pomisliti da "Foe" nije komad SF-a i futurizma.

Radnja je izmještena daleko od velegradova i odvija se na američkom Srednjem zapadu, a glavni likovi nose staromodnu odjeću i voze stari kamionet. Budućnost i prošlost isprepleće se u priči koja spaja SF-ove o robotima/AI-ju/klonovima i apokaliptične futurističke vizije na jednako aktualnu temu klimatske krize s komornom ljudskom, bračnom dramom svedenog broja likova nalik kazališnom komadu, pa i onim filmovima nastalima u doba pandemije.

Isprepletanje nije uvijek spretno izvedeno, ponekad "Foe" djeluje i pretenciozno, ali film je neobičan i intrigantan, njegov središnji "twist" para srce, a izvrsni glumci i oskarovski nominenti Paul Mescal ("Poslije sunca", "Stranci") i Saoirse Ronan ("Brooklyn", "Lady Bird", "Male žene") očekivano su na visini zadatka. Mescal i Ronan glume Juniora i Henriettu zvanu Hen, mladi bračni par koji živi na izoliranoj farmi. Junior radi u tvornici kokoši, Hen je konobarica u restoranu pored ceste.

Bračni odnos ovog para čini se narušen, što podebljava Henriettina naracija "U početku sve djeluje tako živo i uzbudljivo, ali s vremenom postaje predvidljivo", izgovorena paralelno s kadrom u kojem Hen plače pod tušem. Jedne večeri na vrata im pokuca misteriozni tamnoputi muškarac Terrance (robotski ukočeni Aaron Pierre) iz korporacije OuterMore.

"Radimo na strategiji klimatske migracije, specifično stanovanja izvan zemlje", govori Terrance. "Život u svemiru", nadoveže se Hen. I doista, Terrence otkrije da je Junior lutrijski nasumično izabran dospio na "shortlist" da ode živjeti u svemir na godinu dana. Iako je Junior protiv toga, Terrance ističe da je posrijedi novačenje, otprilike kao kad se mora otići u rat.

Ovo saznanje utječe na odnos bračnog para, posebice kad se Terrance vrati s vijesti da je Junior odabran i da odlazi u dogledno vrijeme te počne nadgledati i intervjuirati njega i Hen. Razlog nadgledanja i intervjuiranja je sljedeći: Juniora će, vjerovao on ili ne, zamijeniti njegova kopija da pravi društvo Hen dok ga nema.

"Ne želim da robot živi s mojom ženom", drekne Junior, a Terrance precizira da je to "samosvjesni oblik života". Pojava Terrancea unosi nemir u kuću bračnog para (čak i dijelom nanovo elektrizira strast među njima) otprilike kao dolazak Blanche kod sestre Stelle i njezina muža Stanleyja Kowalskog u "Tramvaju zvanom čežnja".

Mescal je glumio u "A Streetcar Named Desire" kazalištu i Junior se zna ponašati kao Kowalski, no Ronan je ta koja, zanimljivo, provodi u potkošulji dobar dio filma, svojevrsnog "Svemirskog broda zvanog čežnja". Psihološka karakterna dinamika pospješuje tenzije otkrivajući Juniorovu ljubomoru (na Terrancea) dok se zlokobni SF polako uvlači u intimnu dramu.

Nitko ne bi smio reći da je "Foe" kalibar jednog "Istrebljivača", "Umjetne inteligencije", "Ex Machine" i "Blade Runnera 2049", ali fino se nadovezuje na recentni niz AI filmova poput "Zoe" ili "Poslije Yanga" i postavlja neka interesantna pitanja o vezi s kopijom osobe koju ste voljeli, pravoj i zamjenskoj ljubavi, stvarnim osjećajima i umjetno stvorenim bićima itd. Sanjaju li androidi električnu ljubav?

Kasnije u ovom stoljeću slatka voda i nastanjivo zemljište bit će najdragocjenija roba. Gradovi će biti prenaseljeni, ruralna područja polako napuštena, a planirana je izrada novih naselja u svemiru. AI sa sposobnošću svijesti počet će zamjenjivati ljudski rad u najrazorenijim mjestima područja Zemlje...

Upravo ovim riječima otvara se futuristička SF drama "Foe", koja je nakon jesenske festivalske distribucije početkom ove godine osvanula na streaming servisu Amazon Prime Video. "Foe" je smješten u 2065. godinu i također je, poput "Kitchena", jedan od onih manjih futurističkih filmova, fokusiran na premisu i likove umjesto ono vizualno.

Jedno vozilo bez vozača i nekoliko letjelica takoreći su najveća znanstvena fantastika u kadru filma redatelja Gartha Davisa ("Lav", "Marija Magdalena") koji je i koscenarist zajedno s Iainom Reidom, autorom istoimena romana iz 2018. godine. Ustvari, netko bi mogao pomisliti da "Foe" nije komad SF-a i futurizma.

Radnja je izmještena daleko od velegradova i odvija se na američkom Srednjem zapadu, a glavni likovi nose staromodnu odjeću i voze stari kamionet. Budućnost i prošlost isprepleće se u priči koja spaja SF-ove o robotima/AI-ju/klonovima i apokaliptične futurističke vizije na jednako aktualnu temu klimatske krize s komornom ljudskom, bračnom dramom svedenog broja likova nalik kazališnom komadu, pa i onim filmovima nastalima u doba pandemije.

Isprepletanje nije uvijek spretno izvedeno, ponekad "Foe" djeluje i pretenciozno, ali film je neobičan i intrigantan, njegov središnji "twist" para srce, a izvrsni glumci i oskarovski nominenti Paul Mescal ("Poslije sunca", "Stranci") i Saoirse Ronan ("Brooklyn", "Lady Bird", "Male žene") očekivano su na visini zadatka. Mescal i Ronan glume Juniora i Henriettu zvanu Hen, mladi bračni par koji živi na izoliranoj farmi. Junior radi u tvornici kokoši, Hen je konobarica u restoranu pored ceste.

Bračni odnos ovog para čini se narušen, što podebljava Henriettina naracija "U početku sve djeluje tako živo i uzbudljivo, ali s vremenom postaje predvidljivo", izgovorena paralelno s kadrom u kojem Hen plače pod tušem. Jedne večeri na vrata im pokuca misteriozni tamnoputi muškarac Terrance (robotski ukočeni Aaron Pierre) iz korporacije OuterMore.

"Radimo na strategiji klimatske migracije, specifično stanovanja izvan zemlje", govori Terrance. "Život u svemiru", nadoveže se Hen. I doista, Terrence otkrije da je Junior lutrijski nasumično izabran dospio na "shortlist" da ode živjeti u svemir na godinu dana. Iako je Junior protiv toga, Terrance ističe da je posrijedi novačenje, otprilike kao kad se mora otići u rat.

Ovo saznanje utječe na odnos bračnog para, posebice kad se Terrance vrati s vijesti da je Junior odabran i da odlazi u dogledno vrijeme te počne nadgledati i intervjuirati njega i Hen. Razlog nadgledanja i intervjuiranja je sljedeći: Juniora će, vjerovao on ili ne, zamijeniti njegova kopija da pravi društvo Hen dok ga nema.

"Ne želim da robot živi s mojom ženom", drekne Junior, a Terrance precizira da je to "samosvjesni oblik života". Pojava Terrancea unosi nemir u kuću bračnog para (čak i dijelom nanovo elektrizira strast među njima) otprilike kao dolazak Blanche kod sestre Stelle i njezina muža Stanleyja Kowalskog u "Tramvaju zvanom čežnja".

Mescal je glumio u "A Streetcar Named Desire" kazalištu i Junior se zna ponašati kao Kowalski, no Ronan je ta koja, zanimljivo, provodi u potkošulji dobar dio filma, svojevrsnog "Svemirskog broda zvanog čežnja". Psihološka karakterna dinamika pospješuje tenzije otkrivajući Juniorovu ljubomoru (na Terrancea) dok se zlokobni SF polako uvlači u intimnu dramu.

Nitko ne bi smio reći da je "Foe" kalibar jednog "Istrebljivača", "Umjetne inteligencije", "Ex Machine" i "Blade Runnera 2049", ali fino se nadovezuje na recentni niz AI filmova poput "Zoe" ili "Poslije Yanga" i postavlja neka interesantna pitanja o vezi s kopijom osobe koju ste voljeli, pravoj i zamjenskoj ljubavi, stvarnim osjećajima i umjetno stvorenim bićima itd. Sanjaju li androidi električnu ljubav?

Isprepletanje nije uvijek spretno izvedeno, ponekad "Foe" djeluje i pretenciozno, ali film je neobičan i intrigantan, njegov središnji "twist" para srce, a izvrsni glumci i oskarovski nominenti Paul Mescal ("Poslije sunca", "Stranci") i Saoirse Ronan ("Brooklyn", "Lady Bird", "Male žene") očekivano su na visini zadatka. Mescal i Ronan glume Juniora i Henriettu zvanu Hen, mladi bračni par koji živi na izoliranoj farmi. Junior radi u tvornici kokoši, Hen je konobarica u restoranu pored ceste.

Bračni odnos ovog para čini se narušen, što podebljava Henriettina naracija "U početku sve djeluje tako živo i uzbudljivo, ali s vremenom postaje predvidljivo", izgovorena paralelno s kadrom u kojem Hen plače pod tušem. Jedne večeri na vrata im pokuca misteriozni tamnoputi muškarac Terrance (robotski ukočeni Aaron Pierre) iz korporacije OuterMore.

"Radimo na strategiji klimatske migracije, specifično stanovanja izvan zemlje", govori Terrance. "Život u svemiru", nadoveže se Hen. I doista, Terrence otkrije da je Junior lutrijski nasumično izabran dospio na "shortlist" da ode živjeti u svemir na godinu dana. Iako je Junior protiv toga, Terrance ističe da je posrijedi novačenje, otprilike kao kad se mora otići u rat.

Ovo saznanje utječe na odnos bračnog para, posebice kad se Terrance vrati s vijesti da je Junior odabran i da odlazi u dogledno vrijeme te počne nadgledati i intervjuirati njega i Hen. Razlog nadgledanja i intervjuiranja je sljedeći: Juniora će, vjerovao on ili ne, zamijeniti njegova kopija da pravi društvo Hen dok ga nema.

"Ne želim da robot živi s mojom ženom", drekne Junior, a Terrance precizira da je to "samosvjesni oblik života". Pojava Terrancea unosi nemir u kuću bračnog para (čak i dijelom nanovo elektrizira strast među njima) otprilike kao dolazak Blanche kod sestre Stelle i njezina muža Stanleyja Kowalskog u "Tramvaju zvanom čežnja".

Mescal je glumio u "A Streetcar Named Desire" kazalištu i Junior se zna ponašati kao Kowalski, no Ronan je ta koja, zanimljivo, provodi u potkošulji dobar dio filma, svojevrsnog "Svemirskog broda zvanog čežnja". Psihološka karakterna dinamika pospješuje tenzije otkrivajući Juniorovu ljubomoru (na Terrancea) dok se zlokobni SF polako uvlači u intimnu dramu.

Nitko ne bi smio reći da je "Foe" kalibar jednog "Istrebljivača", "Umjetne inteligencije", "Ex Machine" i "Blade Runnera 2049", ali fino se nadovezuje na recentni niz AI filmova poput "Zoe" ili "Poslije Yanga" i postavlja neka interesantna pitanja o vezi s kopijom osobe koju ste voljeli, pravoj i zamjenskoj ljubavi, stvarnim osjećajima i umjetno stvorenim bićima itd. Sanjaju li androidi električnu ljubav?
